Beekmantown's (33) makes the shoulder save on the shot from the top of the zone in the winning effort. It would be the season opener for the annual powerhouse of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Beekmantown Eagles as they would host the Niskayuna Mohawks. The Eagles would come out in the first period and take quick control of the game as they would score five goals Zach Lapier (three) and Sam Bingel (twice) while the Mohawks would get a lone goal as the Eagles would take the 5-1 lead into the first intermission. In the second period it would be the same as the first as the Eagles would dominate again with another five-goal period from Louis Sweenor (twice), Zach Lapier, Sam Bingel, and Keegin Rodier while the Mohawks would another one as the Eagles would take a 10-2 lead into the third period. In that third period, the Eagles would another three goals with help from Sam Bingel and Zach Lapier as the Eagles would cruise to the 13-3 win. In the win, the Beekmantown Eagles would start their season 1-0 while the Niskayuna Mohawks would fall to 0-2 on the year. As for the Beekmantown Eagles, they will be back in action next weekend as they take on Grand Island and Kenmore East. Gallery

Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) breaks in on the net and sticks over the shoulder of the goalie for one of his six goals on the afternoon in the winning effort. Plattsburgh's (22) stuffs it from the tight angle for the Hornet's goal to keep them in the game. It would be the opening afternoon of the high school hockey season for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would host the Niskayuna Mohawks from section II at the Ameri-Can North Sports Center. The visiting Mohawks would get the opening goal of the game just 2:20 in from Max Kenny for the 1-0 lead. Then with just about three minutes left in the period the Mohawks and Kenny would score again for the 2-0 lead to end the period. The Hornets would come out on fire in the second period and make it a one-goal game on the Brayden Calkins goal. The Hornets would keep coming and tie the game up just two minutes later. The game would stay tied for most of the period but the Mohawks would regain the one-goal lead at 3-2 on the Luca Coppola goal with just under five minutes left in the period. In the third period the offenses on both teams would come alive as they would combine for five goals with the Mohawks winning the period 3-2 scoring for the Mohawks would be Jackson Rumsey and Jack Clark (twice) as the Mohawks got the 6-4 victory. In the win, the Niskayuna Mohawks start the season 1-0 while the Plattsburgh Hornets start at 0-1. The Nisyakuna Mohawks will finish off their weekend trip to the North Country as they will take on the Beekmentown Eagles on December 3rd at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena.. Gallery

The Lasalle defender would knock Beekmantown's Seamone (6) off the puck as he charged down the ice for the offensive zone. The Beekmantown Eagles would look to continue their hot start with another home contest against the Lasalle Cadets in nonconference action. The Eagles would get off to a fast start as they would get two goals in the opening period and take the 2-0 lead. When the second period came around, they would continue their hot hand as they added another two goals, both coming from Sam Bingel to take the 4-0 lead into the third period. In the third period, the Eagles would not let up having the big lead headed in as they would get three more goals two coming from Zack LaPier and one from Louis Sweenor to secure the 7-0 win for the Eagles. With the win, the Eagles go to 2-0 on the season and are yet to give up a goal after two shutout victories. Gallery

The two teams would be very evenly matched throughout the afternoon and both teams would take there chance at getting that opening goal of the game. Although it would be a single goal scored the whole afternoon coming from Hutch Ovios in the closing seconds of the second period. The Hornets would add an empty net goal in the last minute of the game to secure the 2-0 victory. In the winning effort the Hornets finish off the opening weekend at 2-0 while the Mohawks fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery

The Mohawks would strike first with a goal at 2:30 of the first. Then at 5:55 the Hornets would tie the game up at one on Ryan Whalen's goal. The Mohawks would retake the lead at 7:01 on Josh Kim's at 2-1. Then at 10:33 Ryan Whalen would tie the game back up at two with his second of the night. Then in the last minute of the period the Hornets would take the 3-2 lead Eric Bechard's goal. When the teams came back for the second period the Hornets would take the 4-2 lead at 3:36 on Ryan Whalen's third goal of the day. Then just 14 seconds later the Hornets would make it 5-2 Gavin Giroux goal. The Hornets would make it 6-2 at 5:36 on the Wade Weeden goal. Then the Mohawks would get the last two of the period to make it 6-4 after two. Then just 36 seconds into the third period Kurtis Olsen would get into the act to make it 7-4. Then at 4:06 mark of period the Hornets Eric Bechard would get his third of the day to secure the 8-4 win, In the winning effort Dean Dashnaw would make 13 saves as the Hornets go to 2-1 on the season. The 1st period would be a big one for the Eagles as they would light the lamp five times with five different scores Brandon Buksa, Brendan Davison, Tyler Pepper, Nathan Foster, and Kyle Constantly and have a 5-1 lead after one. In the second period it would be more of the same the Eagles would score just one minute in from Brandon Buksa (2nd of the night to make it 6-1. Then in the 11th minute of the period the Eagles would score twice from Callum Sullivan and Syke Dominy to have an 8-1 lead after two. In the third period the Eagles would add one more from Nathan Hebert at the 10:40 mark to secure the 9-1 win. With the win Eagles go to 2-0 on the season. Gallery
