Plattsburgh's Jace Lacey (21) battles for the loose puck as they barrel down on the net with the Niskayuna defender. It would be the second night of a two game weekend for the Hornets to start the season as they would play host to the Mohawks from Niskayuna. The two teams would be very evenly matched throughout the afternoon and both teams would take there chance at getting that opening goal of the game. Although it would be a single goal scored the whole afternoon coming from Hutch Ovios in the closing seconds of the second period. The Hornets would add an empty net goal in the last minute of the game to secure the 2-0 victory.
