Peabodies Matt Rivers (88) ranges far to the his right to pick the grounder behind second for the fire to first for the out. The Peabodies Padres would take on the Meron's Expos in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In game one the Expos would take the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The game would stay there till the fourth when the Expos would add four more runs to extend the lead to 5-0. The Expos would get two more in the fifth to secure the 7-0 victory. Getting the win for the Expos Billy Davis would pitch the shutout giving up just four hits and striking out two. As the teams would return for the second game the Padres would take the quick 1-0 lead on Jeff Norton's RBI double. The score would stay way until the third when the Padres would get three runs thanks to Matthew Hart's two RBI single and Brady Burleigh's RBI single to make it 4-0. The Expos woud do there best to get back in as they cut the lead in half with two runs in the fourth couldn't get any closer though. As the Padres would get the 4-2 win to earn the split on the day. In the win for game two Frank Brogna would go four innings strike out one give up two runs on three hits. With the splits the Padres go to 2-4 on the season. Gallery

The Peabody's Padres would take on the Meron's Expos in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In-game one the Expos would take the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Airborne Speedway Padres would finish off the Meron's Expos by beating them 2-0 to advance to the championship next week. The only scoring in the game would come in the fourth inning of a two rbi double by Jeff Norton. The Padres would play stellar defense throughout the day to keep the shutout in tack. In the winning effort, Frank Brogna would strike out six while going the complete game for the win. With the win, Padres will be playinging the Lyon Mountain Miners in the best two out of three series for the championship.

Airborne Speedway's Nick Derochsers (7) extends completely out to save the ball from going to the outfield. The Airborne Speedway Padres would sweep a doubleheader with the Meron's Expos 9-0 & 12-0. In-game 1 it would be close at 2-0 until when the bats would explode for 6 runs to make it 8-0. Then to finish off the game the Padres would add one more to make it 9-0 for the victory. The story of the game would be Frank Brogna as he would go the complete game strikeout twelve and give up no hits for the no-hitter. In-game two the Padres bats would stay hot as the would get to expos early by getting six in the second and five in the third and finish it off with one in the fourth for the 12-0 win in five innings. Leading the way offensively for Padres would Eric Bell with a home run and Joey Painter with a three-hit game. On the mound Matt Rivers would give up just three hits and strike out two. The Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs runner would slide under the tag of Meron's Expos (8) on a bang-bang play at the plate after the pitch got away from the catcher and went to the backstop. The Timberjaxxs would earn the sweep of the Expos in the doubleheader in a couple of high scoring affairs at the hitter-friendly park at South Acres. The Timberjaxxs would earn the sweep of the Expos in the doubleheader in a couple of high scoring affairs at the hitter friendly park at South Acres. The Timberjaxxs would defeat the Expos 16-6 in game 1 and then 17-8 in game 2.
