Airborne Speedway's Nick Derochsers (7) extends completely out to save the ball from going to the outfield. The Airborne Speedway Padres would sweep a doubleheader with the Meron's Expos 9-0 & 12-0. In-game 1 it would be close at 2-0 until when the bats would explode for 6 runs to make it 8-0. Then to finish off the game the Padres would add one more to make it 9-0 for the victory. The story of the game would be Frank Brogna as he would go the complete game strikeout twelve and give up no hits for the no-hitter. In-game two the Padres bats would stay hot as the would get to expos early by getting six in the second and five in the third and finish it off with one in the fourth for the 12-0 win in five innings. Leading the way offensively for Padres would Eric Bell with a home run and Joey Painter with a three-hit game. On the mound Matt Rivers would give up just three hits and strike out two.
