It would be the rare high school boy's hockey game on a Sunday as this was a makeup game from earlier in the season. It would feature the #2 Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers. The home Eagles would strike first and quickly just 1:25 into the first period when would throw in the rebound from Sam Bingel for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there through the rest of the period and the first 3:38 of the second period when Keegin Rodier would light the lamp and make it a 2-0 game and that's where the second period would end. Then just 3:59 into the third period the Eagles would strike again this time from Caleb Peryer for the 3-0 lead. The Eagles would keep the offense going this time on the shorthand as Sam Bingel would break in on net and get the goal for the 4-0 lead. The Eagles would keep coming and score again just 2:30 later on the Cooper Burdo goal and make it a 5-0 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finish off the Lakers as Parker Broughton would snip in the top of the net to secure the 6-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 15-1-2 on the season as Austin Dosier would make 13 saves for the shutout as the Lakers fall to 5-7 on the season. The Lakers will be right back in action tomorrow as they would host the Saranac Chiefs while the Beekmantown Eagles will travel to Rouses Point and take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on Wednesday, February 15th. Plattsburgh State's Mae Olshansky (21) crashes the net as she goes after her second goal of the afternoon. It would be the home finale for the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would be facing NEWHL foe the Canton Kangaroos in Women's Hockey at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would be even through the first period until there was 3:36 left in the period when the Cardinals Mae Olshansky would score to get the Cardinals on the board and take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the Cardinals would score again to double there lead at 2-0 on Sara Krauseneck goal. Although the Kangaroos would keep fighting and they would make it a one goal game on the power play goal from Danika Lalonde. Although the one goal game would be short lived as the Cardinals would regain there two goal lead just two minutes later on the Nicole Unsworth goal and make it a 3-1 game. Then in the third period the Cardinals would take control of the game with 9:05 left in the third period on the Sara Krauseneck second goal of the game for the 4-1 lead. From there the Cardinals defense would control the rest of the game and the Cardinals would get the win. In the winning effort Ashley Davis and Chloe Beaubin would combine for 16 saves as they go to 20-2 on the season. It would be the regular season home finale for the #9 Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would host north country and SUNYAC rival the Potsdam State Bears. The Cardinals would honor the five seniors on the team at the conclusion of their last regular season home game. The home Cardinals would get off to a quick start as they would take the 1-0 lead just 2:09 into the game on the Jake Lanyl go. Then just 29 seconds later the Cardinals would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Adam Tretowicz goa. However, it would be just under three minutes later at the 6:25 mark of the period when the Bears would get on the board cutting their deficit in half on the Robert Clerc. Then with just under six minutes left in the first period, the Bears would fight back and tie the game at two on the powerplay goal by Michael McArthur. The teams would go to the locker room and the Cardinals would come back refreshed as they would retake the lead just 4:49 into the second period on the Mitchell Hale goal. Then just over halfway through the period, the Cardinals would regain their two-goal lead on the Paul Bryer goal to make it a 4-2 game. Then just 1:17 left in the second period the Cardinals would make it a three-goal lead on Jake Lanyl's second goal of the night for the 5-2 lead. The Potsdam State Bears would look like they still had some fight in them as they started the third period just 3:43 into it with the Justin Vernance goal to make it a 5-3 game. Although the Cardinal's defense would stand tall the rest of the night as they would get the 5-3 win and go to 17-5-2 on the season, In the winning effort Jacob Hearne would make 25 saves for the win and will finish the regular season next Wednesday as they will travel to Morrisville State. Northeastern Clinton's Stephen Garrow (34) goes up and under the Plattsburgh defender and lays it off the window. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in a rematch of last year's Section VII Class B championship. The game would start off well for the home Hornets as they would come rolling out of the gates and have a 17-9 lead after the opening quarter of the game. In the second quarter, the Hornets would stay hot and were able to extend their lead with a 20-13 quarter to give the Hornets the 37-22 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the second half the Cougars would regroup and find their shot and make it a two-point game at the end of the third quarter at 43-41 Hornets. For the first half of the fourth quarter, the teams would go back and forth, and the game with stay within a couple of points. Then with a little under five minutes left in the game there would a scramble for the ball under the basket and the Cougars would get called for a technical foul from there the game would fall apart for the Cougars and the Hornets would pull away with an eleven point win at 66-55. In the winning effort, the Hornets would go to 6-11 on the season while the Cougars will fall to 11-7 as both teams start looking at the playoff stretch. Gallery

The game would be tight throughout the first period and the Eagles would eventually get the opening goal with under 90 seconds left in the period from Rachel Mador to make it 1-0 Eagles. The Huskies would fight back and tie the game at one on the Olivia Cook. Although just 50 seconds later the Eagles would score to regain their one-goal lead at 2-1. Then with just under five minutes left in the second period, the Huskies would tie the game again as Olivia Cook would score her second goal of the game. Although the Eagles would keep the fight up and take the lead back once again as they would score with two minutes left in the period to make it a 3-2 game. Although once again the Huskies would tie the game once again just 4:55 into the third period at three. The game would stay all the way til the fourth overtime when the Huskies would get the game-winner just shortly after a very conversational call boarding that jarred the puck free that they put in the net for the Huskies 4-3 win. With the win, the Huskies would advance to the Section VII Championship against Adirondack on February 9th. Gallery
