Malone's Sadie Varin (2) would get flight and block the shot of Peru's Destiny Snider (1) on her shot attempt in close. It woi;d be the last game of the 2023 edition of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Malone Huskies and the Peru Nighthawks it would be one of the toughest games over the two days. The game might start slow but it wasn't for the lack of excitement as the Nigthawks and Huskies would be tied at six after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would take the slim 2-point into the break with a 7-5 quarter and a 13-11 lead at the break. In the third quarter, the game would still be tight but the Nighthawks would tie the game up at 24 as they head to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would pull ahead with an 8-7 quarter and hold on to get the 32-31 win With the win the Nighthawks would go to 4-3 on the season and Huskies would fall to 2-2 on the season and Reese Duprey for the Nighthawks would lead all scorers with 18 points. It woi;d be the last game of the 2023 edition of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Malone Huskies and the Peru Nighthawks it would be one of the toughest games over the two days. Saranac's Mchenna Brown (2) with the scoop shot under the basket for the score as the Spartans were off to the races. It would be the second game of the day of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and we would have the Malone Huskies and Saranac Spartand to tip-off. The Spartans would get off to a hot start against the Malone Huskies with a 21-9 opening quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would do their best to not let the lead expand as it would be a 15-11 quarter for the Spartans and take a 36-20 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the third quarter though the Spartans would put the clamps on the Huskies and take control of the game with an 18-6 quarter and have a 54-26 lead headed into the fourth quarter. Where the teams would have an even quarter at ten a piece but the Spartans would get the convincing 64-36 victory. In the winning effort, Breena Ducatte would lead the way with 31 points as the Spartans go to 4-1 on the season and will face the Boquet Valley Griffins on the second day of the tournament while the Malone Huskies fall to 2-1 on the season and will get the Peru Nighthawks. Saranac's Brenna Duccatte (14) with the three from the wing as part of a game-high 31-point showing. It would be the second game of the day of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and we would have the Malone Huskies and Saranac Spartand to tip-off. The Spartans would get off to a hot start against the Malone Huskies with a 21-9 opening quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would do their best to not let the lead expand as it would be a 15-11 quarter for the Spartans and take a 36-20 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the third quarter though the Spartans would put the clamps on the Huskies and take control of the game with an 18-6 quarter and have a 54-26 lead headed into the fourth quarter. Where the teams would have an even quarter at ten a piece but the Spartans would get the convincing 64-36 victory. #3 Beekmantown Eagles @ #2 Malone Huskies Upstate New York Girls Hockey League Section VII Semi-Finals February 1st 2022

Malone Huskies Reaghan Marlow (35) with the pad save on the Eagles breakaway attempt on net. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Girl's Hockey inside the Upstate New York Girl's Hockey League. The game would be tight throughout the first period and the Eagles would eventually get the opening goal with under 90 seconds left in the period from Rachel Mador to make it 1-0 Eagles. The Huskies would fight back and tie the game at one on the Olivia Cook. Although just 50 seconds later the Eagles would score to regain their one-goal lead at 2-1. Then with just under five minutes left in the second period, the Huskies would tie the game again as Olivia Cook would score her second goal of the game. Although the Eagles would keep the fight up and take the lead back once again as they would score with two minutes left in the period to make it a 3-2 game. Although once again the Huskies would tie the game once again just 4:55 into the third period at three. The game would stay all the way til the fourth overtime when the Huskies would get the game-winner just shortly after a very conversational call boarding that jarred the puck free that they put in the net for the Huskies 4-3 win. With the win, the Huskies would advance to the Section VII Championship against Adirondack on February 9th. Gallery
