It woi;d be the last game of the 2023 edition of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Malone Huskies and the Peru Nighthawks it would be one of the toughest games over the two days. The game might start slow but it wasn't for the lack of excitement as the Nigthawks and Huskies would be tied at six after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would take the slim 2-point into the break with a 7-5 quarter and a 13-11 lead at the break. In the third quarter, the game would still be tight but the Nighthawks would tie the game up at 24 as they head to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would pull ahead with an 8-7 quarter and hold on to get the 32-31 win With the win the Nighthawks would go to 4-3 on the season and Huskies would fall to 2-2 on the season and Reese Duprey for the Nighthawks would lead all scorers with 18 points. Peru's Vanessa Lawyer (10) would get a finger on the shot attempt of Malone's Lilliana Teressa Sosa (1). It woi;d be the last game of the 2023 edition of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Malone Huskies and the Peru Nighthawks it would be one of the toughest games over the two days. It would be the second day of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and the opening game would see the Peru Nighthawks taking on the Seton Catholic Knights. The Nighthawks would start the game well and would be doubling up the Knights by the end of the first quarter with a 12-6 lead. In the second quarter, the Knights would keep up the fight and keep it close as the Nighthawks would win the quarter but only 12-8 and take a 24-14 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the third quarter the offense for the Nighthawks would step up and they would start to pull away with a 17-6 quarter take a 41-20 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would do their best not to let the deficit get any worse as the Nighthawks would have a 14-12 quarter and secure the 55-32 win. In the winning effort, Kobe Harris would lead the way with 14 points as the Nighthawks would get their first win of the season and go to 1-4 on the season while the Knights fell to 1-5. Gallery

It would be the opening game of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and we would feature the Peru Nighthawks and the Boquet Valley Griffins in Boy's Basketball action. The game would start tight as the Griffins would have a slim 16-12 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter though the Griffins would start to pull away with a 13-8 quarter and take a 29-20 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Nighthawks would do their best to stay with the Griffins as the Griffins would win the quarter by a slim 13-10 and take a 42-30 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Griffins would double up the Nighthawks with a 14-7 quarter and secure the 56-37 victory. In the winning effort, Jackson Hooper would lead the way for the Griffins with 17 points as they go to 7-0 and stay undefeated on the season as they will take on the Saranac Spartans on Day 2 of the tournament. Boquet Valley's Ella Lobdell (15) goes up for the layup and avoids the outreached hand of Peru's defender for the score. It would be the last game of the opening day of the third annual Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Boquet Valley Griffins and the Peru Nigthawks in another classic Champlain Valley/Mountain Valley classic. The Nighthawks would get off to a soaring start in the game and have an 18-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would play a more evenly matched eight minutes with the Nighthawks having a slim 11-8 quarter and taking a 29-13 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the second half the Nighthawks would have shutdown defense and win the quarter 15-1 and take a 44-14 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the teams would play a little more evenly but the Nighthawks would still get the 15-11 quarter and secure the 59-25 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks would even up their record on the season at 4-4 and will play Malone Huskies in the second game of the classic while Boquet Valley falls to 4-4 and will meet up with the Saranac Spartans.
