The Peabody Padres would host the Meron's Expos in week 5 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In the opening game, the Padres would take the 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Mark Eggleston. The Expos would come back in the fourth and tie the game at one on a sacrifice fly. The Padres would regain the lead in the fifth with two runs one by wild pitch score Shane Perrotte and Matt Rivers would score on an RBI sacrifice fly by Brady Burleigh to take a 3-1 lead. In the sixth inning, the Expos would try and come back with an RBI single by Dominick but it would come up short and the Padres win game 1. In the winning effort, Matt Rivers would go the distance giving 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out seven. In the second game, the Expos would take the 2-0 lead in third with a pair of RBI singles by Matt Golden and Chris Rodenbeck for the 2-0 lead. Then in the fifth inning, the Expos would extend there lead to 5-0 with a 2 RBI double by Bourdeau and an RBI single by Cliff Connors. In the sixth inning, the Padres would get on the board with a Brady Burleigh score to make it 5-1. Then in seventh, they would score again on Brady Burleigh RBI single to give the Expos the 5-2 win. In the winning effort, Mike Bergmen would go the distance giving up 2 runs on 2 hits. With the split, the Padres go to 6-2 while the Expos go to 7-3 on the season.

Lyon Mountain's Scott Baker with the catch of the hot smashes down the line to rob a base hit. The Peabody Padres would host the Lyon Mountain in week four of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In the first game of the twin bill, the Padres would score early and often getting two runs in the first off RBI singles by Mark Eggleston and Jeff Norton to make it 2-0. In the second inning, the bats would really come alive as they would score five runs with the big blow coming on Mark Eggleston's bases-clearing triple to make it 7-0. The score would stay there til the 6th when the Miners would get on the board on Riley Lawless RBI single to make it 7-1. Although at the bottom of the inning the Padres would add 5 more and close out the Miners with a 12-1 victory. In the winning effort, Matt Rivers would go the distance giving up 1 run on four hits while striking out four. While at the plate Mark Eggleston would go 3-4 with 2 RBI's. In the second game, it would be a pitchers duel as Padres Frank Brogna and Kris Chase. Although the Padres would get the lone two runs of the game in the fourth inning to secure the win and the sweep. In the winning effort, Frank Brogna would go the distance for the shutout victory while striking out nine. With the win, the Peabody Padres go to 5-1 while the Miners fall to 4-4 on the season.

Peabod.y's Matt Rivers(88) with the fastball release for the strikeout as part of a seven strikeout the day. The Peabody Padres would host the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs in doubleheader action at Saranac in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League season. The first game would remain scoreless until the fourth inning when the Padres would explode four runs in the inning with the big blow coming from Matt Ormsby two rbi single and take the 4-0 lead. The Padres would do it again in the fifth with two more runs playing small ball to make it 6-0. Then in the sixth inning the Padres would add one more to secure the lead at 7-0 with some bad play in the field by the Timberjaxxs. In the seventh inning the Timberjaxxs would avoid the shutout and get a run on the board as the Padres would get the 7-1 win. In the winning effort Matt Rivers would go the distance striking out seven and giving up one run on three hits. With Padres Shane Perrotte would go 3-3 with a RBI. The Padres would also take the second game and go to 2-2 on the season while the Timberjaxxs falls to 0-4.

Champlain Valley Baseball League Peabody Peabody's Padres Vs Adam's Glass Dodgers May 18 2014

Adam's Glass (40) with the steal of second base ahead of the tag by Peabody's Shane Perrotte (2). In week two action of the Champlain Valley Baseball League as the Peabody Padres would host the new Adam's Glass Dodgers in doubleheader action in the first game Adam's Glass Dodgers would get the 6-2 victory in extra innings with the big inning coming in the ninth when they would open up for four runs. In the second game of the doubleheader, it would be another low scoring pitchers duel as the Padres would get the 5-1 win thanks to a three-run fifth inning. With that being said the teams would get a split on the day and the Padres would start there season at 1-1 while Adam's Glass would go to 2-2 on the season.

The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the #10 Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X baseball action. It would be a long day for the Bulldogs as the Panthers would jump out to a 2-0 lead after the first. Then in the second, they would get two more runs to make it 4-0 Panthers. In the third inning, they would add another run to make it 5-0. Then in the fourth, they would add four more to make it 9-0. Then in the fifth, they would explode for six runs and put the game away at 15-0. In the winning effort, Alex Brunett would go the distance for the shutout and strike out at 11. In the losing effort, the Bulldogs would fall to 1-10 on the season. Gallery

The Red Raiders would get off to a quick start in the first with four runs for the 4-0 lead. The Huskies would come back in the third with three runs of there own with the big hit coming from Jordan 2 RBI single to make it 4-3. The Red Raiders would come in the top of the four with two runs to make it 6-3. From there on out the Red Raiders would hold the Huskies in check for the 6-3 lead. In the losing effort, Austin Lamay would go the distance giving up three runs on nine hits while striking out three as the Huskies fall to 7-4 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay's Nick Blair (18) with the block at the plate to save the pass ball. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in a doubleheader of Section X action. In the first game the Bulldogs would jump out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning. Then in the fourth inning everything would fall apart of the Bulldogs as they would give up 6 runs and trail 6-3. The Bulldogs would get single runs in the fourth and fifth but it wasn't enough as they would fall 7-5. In the nightcap the teams would trade runs in the first to make it 1-1. In the second inning the Lumberjacks would strike big again scoring seven times to make it 8-1. Then in the third the teams would trade runs again and fall 9-2. With the pair of loses the Bulldogs fall to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

The Huskies would take the 1-0 lead in the first on Abe Gravell sacrifice fly. In the second inning the Huskies would break the game wide open with a seven run inning to make it 8-0. Then they would keep it going in the third and score four more runs and extend the lead to 12-0. The Shamrocks would avoid the shutout in the fifth to make it 12-1. Although the Huskies would answer back in the bottom of the inning to make it 13-1 to secure the victory. In the winning effort John Brown would get the win as he went three innings striking out two and giving up two hits as the Huskies go to 3-2 on the season. Gallery

The Indians would take the 1-0 lead in the second inning when Connor Casey would score on the wild pitch. Although the Huskies would come right back in the bottom of the inning and score fours on one play as the Indians would through the ball around like a hot potato and take a 4-1 lead. The Indians would come back in the third inning and get one on Mitch Cunningham RBI single to make it 4-2. Although the game would not get any closer and the Huskies would have some great defense and secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort, Malone's Alex Johnson would go four innings of shutout ball will striking out four and giving up one hit in the win as the Huskies go to 2-2 on the season. Gallery

NCAA Division III Baseball Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Norwich Cadets April 28 2014

Plattsburgh State's Yayu Osawa (9) drops down and field's the grounder to third and fired to first for the out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Norwich Cadets in the last game of the season at Chip Cummings for 2014. The Norwich Cadets would try to end the senior send off when they would take the 1-0 lead in second Kyle Lamorey would score on the sacrifice fly. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game up in the bottom of the inning at one when John Casten would score on the sacrifice fly. The Cardinals would take the 2-1 lead in the third when Yayu Oswawa would score on the fielders choice to make it 2-1. The score would stay there till the sixth inning when the Cardinals would get two runs on a pair of RBI singles from John Casten and Brian Latulipe to take the 4-1 lead. From there the Cardinals shutdown defense and Joe Leddy would hold on for the 4-1 victory. In the winning effort, Joe Leddy would go the complete game giving up one run on five hits while striking out six as the Cardinals go to 13-21 on the season. Gallery
