Moriah's Adam Jaquish (24)takes the hit from the Argyle defender and raises up for the score on the layup. The #5 Moriah Vikings would play the #2 Argyle Scots at the Plattsburgh State Field house in the first round of the New York State Class D Basketball Tournament. The Vikings would jump out quickly and have a 14-4 lead after the 1st quarter. The second quarter would be more of the same the Vikings win the quarter 14-9 and have a 28-13 lead at halftime. When the teams came back for the second half the Scots would regroup although the third would be a tie at ten giving the Vikings the 38-23 lead into the fourth. In the fourth Scots would do there best to cut into the Vikings lead but a 15-10 quarter would not be enough as the Vikings get the 58-48 win. With the win the Vikings go to 20-2 and head to the quarterfinals Saturday against Madrid-Waddington at SUNY Canton. Gallery

Moriah's Sarah Slattery (14) with the running layup that she banks off the window for the score. The #7 Moriah Vikings would play the #6 Fort Edwards Forts in the first round of the New York State Class D Tournament. The Vikings would come out and the start of good and have a 12-8 lead after the first. In the second quarters, the Forts defense would step up and win the quarter 15-10 and the Forts would have a 23-22 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the third the Forts would build on the lead and win the quarter 18-15 and take a 41-37 into the fourth. In the fourth, the Forts would put the finishing touches on the game with a 12-8 quarter to give them the 53-45 victory. With the loss the Vikings season comes to an end at 19-1. Gallery.

#2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #3 Oswego State Lakers March 1st 2014

Plattsburgh's Ryan Franan (44) with a high hit along the side boards on Oswego's Chris Carr (24). It would be a rematch of last week as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Laker. This time the steaks would be higher as it would be in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals and for the right to play for the championship. The game would remain scoreless until the 2:49 mark of the second period when Alex Jensen would score to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 6:24 of the third when Mike Montagna would tie the game at one. The Lakers would take the 2-1 lead at 10:15 on Josh Timpano's goal it would end up being the winner as the Cardinals fall 2-1. In the losing effort Mathieu Cadieux would make 23 saves as they finish there season at 19-5-2 on the season. Gallery.

The Moriah Vikings pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 Section VII Class D Champions. The #1 Moriah Vikings would play the #2 Westport Eagles for the Section VII Class D Championship at SUNY Plattsburgh. The Vikings would jump out to the quick 12-4 lead after the first. The Vikings would win the second 13-12 and have the 25-16 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the third it would be the same as the Vikings win the quarter 11-8 and have 36-24. The Eagles would do there best to keep it close they won the quarter 13-12 although the Vikings would win the game 48-37. In the winning effort, Adam Jaquish would lead the way with 12 points as the Vikings advance to New York State Playoffs. Gallery.

The Seton Catholic Knights team pose for the team photo as they crowned the 2014 Section VII Class C Champions. The #1 Seton Catholic Knights would play the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels in the Section VII Championship at SUNY Plattsburgh. The Sentinels would have a slight 11-7 lead after the first. The Knights would win the second quarter 13-10 and cut into the lead at 21-20 Sentinels at the half. The Knights would make a good run in the third and win the quarter 16-8 and take the 36-29 lead headed into the fourth. In the fourth, the Sentinels would try and keep it close but the Knights would win the quarter 15-12 and win the game 51-41. In the winning effort, Adam Tedford would lead the way with 20 points as the Seton Catholic Knights advance to the New York State Playoffs. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh Hornets pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 Section VII Class B Champions. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would play the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots at SUNY Plattsburgh. The Hornets would jump out to a big lead at 25-6 lead after one. The Patriots would battle back in the second and win the quarter 19-10 the Hornets would still lead 35-25 at the break. In the third, the Patriots would keep fighting back and win the quarter 19-11 and cut into the deficit at 45-44. In the fourth fatigue would set in on the Patriots as the Hornets win the quarter 20-12 and secure the 66-56 win. In the winning effort, Garrett Fardy would lead the way with 30 points as the Hornets advance to the New York State Playoffs. Gallery.

The Beekmantown squad pose for there team photo with the trophy as they are crowned the 2014 Section VII Champions for the second straight year. The #1 Lake Placid Blue Bombers would lock horns with the #2 Beekmantown Eagles with the Section VII title on the line. The Blue Bombers would get the first goal of the game at the 13:21 mark of the first on Chris Williams goal to make it 1-0 Blue Bombers. The game would stay there till 8:17 of the second period when Connor Preston would score for the Blue Bombers and make it a 2-0 lead. The Eagles would get on the board at the 12:27 mark of the second on Nathan Fosters goal to cut the defect to 2-1. The game would stay there till the 2:51 mark of the third when Nathan Foster would have his second of the game to tie the game at 2. Beekmantown's Matt LaClair would give the Eagles the 3-2 lead with the wrister from the left faceoff circle at 10:35. The Eagles would extend the lead to 4-2 on Josh Barriere wrister through the screen. Then just 25 seconds later Nathan Foster would finish off the hat trick and secure the 5-2 victory. The Adirondack J's would face off with the Phootball Phanatics during week three of the indoor flag football season. The Adirondack J's would not waste time taking control of the game as they would have a 38-7 lead at the half. In the second it would be of the same as they would outscore them 51-17 and secure the 89-24 victory. With the win, the Adirondack J's go to 2-0 while the Phootball Phantincs drop to 1-2 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Michael Radisa (28) comes in on the breakaway avoids the poke check and puts it to the top shelf for one of his two goals on the night. Well, the end of the regular season would come to a close with to bitter rivals locking horns. As the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Lakers. The game would remain scoreless until just 26 seconds into the second period when Michael Radisa would make it 1-0 Cardinals. The Lakers would come back and tie the game up at Michael Montagna's goal at 4:45 to make it 1-1. Then just under a minute later the Lakers would take the 2-1 lead on Andrew Barton's power-play goal. The Cardinals would tie the game back up just two minutes later on Michael Radisa's second goal of the night at 2-2. Then just about a minute, late Alex Brenton would give the Cardinals the 3-2 lead. The Lakers would keep fighting and get the equalizer at 12:27 on Alex Botten's goal to make it 3-3. That is where the game would stay all the way till the 17:23 mark of the third when Oswego Brandon Adams would light the lamp for the eventual game-winner to give the Lakers the 4-3 win. In the losing effort, Mathieu Cadieux would make 16 saves as the Cardinals finish the regular season at 19-3-2 and head into the SUMYAC playoffs as the number #2 seed.Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Alex Brenton (19) flips the puck over the shoulder of the goalie for his first of two goals on the night. The #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC play. The Cardinals would take the quick 1-0 lead on Kevin Emerling's goal just 49 seconds into the game. The Cardinals would come right back and score again just 50 seconds later to make it 2-0 on Alex Jensen's goal. The Cardinals would continue to strike as they would make it 3-0 just 90 seconds later on Kevin Emerling's second of the night. The Red Dragon's would get into the act at 6:58 of the first on Nick Zappia's goal to make it 3-1. In the second period, the Cardinals would put the game out of reach as they would light the lamp four times to make it 7-1. Getting the goals for the Cardinals would be Ryan Franan, Alex Brenton, Kevin Emerling (a third of the night), and Michael Cassidy. In the third period just to put the icing on the cake they would add four more goals to secure the 11-1 win. Getting the goals in the third would be Luke Baleshta, Kyle Hall, Alex Jensen (2nd of the night), and Alex Brenton (2nd of the night). In the winning effort, Mathieu Cadieux and Sam Foley would combine to stop 20 shots as the Cardinals go to 19-3-2 on the season. Gallery.
