A pair of Northeastern Clinton players Caeson Gacreau (5) and Winnie Simpson (18) sandwich the Storm skater between them and break up the play. It would be the consolation game of the Appebee's Winter Classic and would feature the Guilderland Storm and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. In the opening period the teams would combine for 5 goals and the Storm would have a 3-2 lead. The three for the Storm would come from Keegan McGovern and Klaidi Ginghi while scoring for the Cougars would be Scott Wryre and Owen Ebersole. In the second period, the Storm would add another two goals from Quinn Rice while the Cougars would add one more from Winnie Simpson as the Storm would take a 5-3 lead into the third period. In that third period, the teams would combine for 8 goals. The Storm would have a pair of goals in the period from Quinn Rice and Joe Kosier. While the Cougars would get 6 goals in the period including a span in the period where the Cougars would score 4 goals in 3:12 scoring in the period would be Owen Ebersole (twice), Winnie Simpson (three), and Garrett Pilon as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars would get the 9-7 win. Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) slides it past the goalie for the score. It would be the championship game of the latest edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic and it would feature the #11 Rye Garnets and the host Beekmantown Eagles. The host Eagles would get off to a good start as they would score just 2:4 into the game on the Edward Sweenor goal. Then just under two minutes later the Eagles score again this time from Sam Bingel putting him just 1 point away from 100 points in his career. Then with 3:38 left in the first period, the Eagles would score again as Edward Sweenor would get his second of the game for the 3-0 Eagles lead. In the early moments of the second period, the Garnets would get on the board to make it a two-goal game on the Ryan Draddy goal. Then at the 5:02 mark of the second period the Eagles would get a goal lead back at 4-1 on the Zack Lapier goal but Sam Bingel would get the assist to secure his 100th career point. The Eagles would start to put the icing on the cake just 55 seconds after the Louis Swennor goal to give the Eagles the 4-1 lead. Then with three minutes left in the game freshmen Edward Sweenor would finish off his hat trick and give the host Eagles the upset 6-1 win and the Winter Classic title. Gallery.

Beekmantown's Novak Jarus(9) with the shot on net that looked like it was going to sneak under the arm but Edward Sweenor would knock in the rebound for the goal. It would be the opening day and opening game of the 2023 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The Storm would get the opening goal of the game with 3:30 left in the first period on the Keegan McGovern goal. The Eagles would come back and tie the game up at one on the Edward Sweenor goal with 41 seconds left in the period. In the second period, the Eagles would get a pair of goals from Edward Sweenor and Novak Jarus as the Storm would get one but the Eagles would take the 3-2 lead into the third period. In the third period, the teams would combine for 6 goals. The Eagles would get the first goal of the period just three minutes into the period from Louis Sweenor as he dumped the puck into the zone for the 4-2 lead. The Storm would answer right back 30 seconds later to make it a one-goal game again at 4-3 on the Klaidi Gijini goal. From there the Eagles would come back with three unanswered goals from Sam Bingel, Edwin Sweenor, and Keegin Rodier as they would secure the 7-3 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 2-1 on the season as they will play the Rye Garnet tomorrow to see who the winner of the 2023 Applebee's Winter Classic championship is. Gallery.

Rye's (3) stuffs it by Northeastern Clinton's goal for the Garnet goal. It would be the second game of the 2023 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Ronald B Stafford Arena and it would feature the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the Rye Garnet. In the opening period, the teams would combine for eight goals with the Rye getting six goals while Northeastern Clinton would get goals from Wayne Simpson and Owen Ebersole. In the second period, there would be another three goals as the Garnets would extend their lead to 8-3. In the third period, the teams would combine for another seven goals with the Garnets getting four goals and Cougars getting another three thanks to Owen Ebersole and Wayne Simpson as the Rye Garnet would get the 12-6 win. The winning effort the Rye Garnet will play the Beekmantown Eagles for the tournament title. While the Northeastern Clinton Cougars will get the Guilderland Storm in the 3rd place game. Gallery.

High School Boy's Hockey: Saranac Spartans @ Rice Memorial Green Knights December 20th 2023

Saranac's Shawn Mclane would make the pad save to keep his team in and fighting all game long. For their third straight game, the Saranac Spartans would travel out of state and take on the Rice Memorial Knights from Burlington, Vermont at the Cairns Arena and would look to continue their good weekend. It would take most of the opening period but the home Knights would get the first goal of the game with 1:54 left in the period on Preston Wheeler's goal to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. The Spartans would keep coming though and tie the game up about halfway through the second period on the Adrian Barnes go from the offensive faceoff circle to beat the goal. However, just about four minutes later the Knights would answer back and retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the Oliver Quong powerplay goal. The game would stay there till there were just under six minutes left in the game when the Spartans would tie the game up again on the Ryan Campbell goal. From there both teams would give their chances for the game-winner in the last minutes of the period and the five-minute overtime so the team would end the game tied at 2. So the Spartan's record will go to 2-2-1 on the season as they head into the Christmas break and their first league game against the Beekmantown Eagles on December 30th at A.C. North Arena. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Division 2 Championship: #3 Pelham Pelicans (I) Vs, #2 Skaneateles Lakers (III) March 12th 2023

Skaneateles Chad Lowe (30) with the pad save on the shot from Pelham's Nick Scampoli (7). It would be championship Sunday from the LECOM Harbor Center in Buffalo, NY and New York State Boy's Hockey Division II would be first up with the #2 Skaneateles Lakers taking on the defending state champion and currently number #3 in the state Pelham Pelicans. It wouldn't take long for the upstart-minded Lakers to get on the board and take the 1-0 lead in the game when Henry Major would score just 2:05 into the game. The Lakers would keep on the accelerator and expand their lead to 2-0 at the 7:58 mark of the period on the Andrew Falkenberg power play goal. Then at the 11:11 mark of the period the Lakers would take control of the game on the Andrew Witlock goal and make it 3-0. When the teams returned for the second period the Lakers would stay and take a 4-0 lead just 33 seconds into the period on Andrew Whitlock's second goal of the game. The game would stay there till there were just about 90 seconds left in the period when the Pelicans would get on the board with the Sebastian Esposito goal and make it a 4-1 game and give the Pelicans hope in the third period. Although the defenses would stand tall for both teams in the third period as there would be no scoring the defending champions Pelicans would fall to the Skaneateles Lakers to give them their first title in four years. NYSPHSAA Division 2 Final Four: #11 Saranac Chiefs (VII) Vs #3 Pelham Pelicans (I) March 11th 2023

Saranac's Zack O'Connell (88) starts the celebration as he gets the Chiefs' second goal. It was the first game of the NYSPHSAA Division II semi-finals. It would feature the #11 Saranac Chiefs from Section VII making their first appearance in the final four and the Pelham Pelicans from Section I and the defending state champions. The game would start off well for the defending champs as they would score just 2:16 into the game on the powerplay goal from Will Crotty for the 1-0 Pelicans lead. The Chiefs would answer back just about halfway through the period and tie the game at one on the Landon Giroux goal. Then just over four minutes later the Pelicans would regain their one-goal lead on the goal by Reid Finster for the 2-1 game. With just about thirty seconds left in the period, the Pelicans would extend their lead to 3-1 n the Joseph Vassalotti goal. The game would stay there till the 6:41 mark of the second period when the Pelicans would score on the Daniel Mitrione goal to make it a 4-1 game. The Chiefs would keep fighting and make it a two-goal game again at the 11:00 mark of the period on the Zack O'Connell goal to make it 4-2. Although the Pelicans would come back on fire after that and score 3 goals in the final five minutes of the period to take a commanding 7-2 lead on goals from Griffin Evans twice and Chris Franchini. Then in the third period with the game in hand, the Pelicans would let up and get the other kids in the game along with the Chiefs doing the same thing although the Pelicans would get one in the last minute of the period from James Vassakotti to secure the 8-2 win. In the winning effort, the Pelicans will advance to the championship against the winner of Salmon River and Skaneateles. In the losing effort, Joey Mitchell would make 44 saves on 52 shots as they finished their season at 13-8-2. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Division 2 Final Four: #2 Skaneateles Lakers Vs #1 Salmon River Shamrocks March 11th 2023

It would be the second game of the NYSPHSAA D2 Semi-finals and it would feature the top two ranked teams in the state as the #1 Salmon River Shamrocks would take on the #2 Skaneateles Lakers for the right to take on the Pelham Pelicans for a state title. It would be a battle between two evenly matched teams and the Lakers would get the opening goal of the game 8:52 into the first period from Henry Major for the 1-0 lead. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Shamrocks would answer right back ten seconds later on the goal by Dylan Johnson to tie the game one. The game would stay there till the 4:55 mark of the second period when the Shamrocks would score to take the 2-1 lead on the goal from Evan Collette. The Lakers would keep fighting and tie the game back up at two a little over three minutes later on a goal by Alex Whitlock. The game would stay there and throughout most of the third period. Although with 2:30 left in the game, the Lakers would take the 3-2 lead. Although the Shamrocks would not give up and they would have their chances in the closing minutes although the Lakers would hold on for the in and head to the finals against the Pelham Pelicans. Section VII Boy's Hockey Championship: #2 Saranac Chiefs @ #1 Beekmantown Eagles February 27th 2023

Saranc's Landon Giroux (17) comes in with the check on Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) as was he was looking to break in on the goalie. It would be the Section VII D2 Boy's Hockey championship from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena and it would feature the top 2 teams as the top-seeded and number 2 in the state Beekmantown Eagles would host the number 2 seeded and number 20 in the state Saranac Chiefs. Although there would be a wrinkle this year as luck would have it with the state tournament brackets both teams would be locked into the tournament so that there would be an even eight teams. With that being said both teams would be giving it their all though so they could have that sectional championship banner hanging from the rafters and the opening goal of the game would come three minutes in on the Sam Bingel goal to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. Although the 1-0 lead would be short-lived as the Chiefs would answer right back 28 seconds later on the Ethan Barnes goal to tie the game at 1. The Eagles would come back though and retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on Louis Sweenor's goal at the 8:44 mark of the period. With just over a minute left in the period the Eagles would take the 3-1 lead on Sam Bingel's second goal of the period. The game would stay there till the 9:05 mark of the second period when the Eagles would extend the lead to 4-1 when Keegan Seamone would light the lamp. Although the Chiefs wouldn't go quietly as Landon Duprey would score with 3:40 left in the period to make it a 4-2 game. Although as the period was ending Sam Bingel would score with two seconds left in the period to take the 5-2 lead into the third period. In the third period, the wheels would fall off for the Chiefs as they would give up four goals from Zach Lapier, Copper Burdo, Luke Moser, and Parker Pryce while the Chiefs would answer back with one goal from Nolan Miner as the Eagles would get the 9-3 victory. In the winning effort, Austin Dosier would make 28 saves as they advance to the New York State Division II Quarterfinals and will take on the defending state champions Pelham Pelicans on March 4th. While for the Chiefs Joey Mitchell would make 26 saves as they also head into the New York State Division II Quarterfinals and will travel to take on the Queensbury Spartans on March 4th as they look to head to Buffalo for the state final four the following weekend. Section VII Boy's Hockey Semi-Finals: #3 Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers @ #2 Saranac Chiefs February 24th 2023

It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Boy's Hockey Playoffs and we would have the #3 Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers traveling to Plattsburgh to take on the #2 Saranac Chiefs for the right to head to the Section VII Championship on February 27th against the #1 Beekmantown Eagles. It would be a great game between two evenly matched teams that would split their two regular-season meetings with both teams winning on their home ice. Neither team was willing to end their season on this night and they would end up going through the whole regulation game time without either team scoring. So then in accordance with the Section VII playoffs rules they would play a regular length period in overtime with the first team scoring being declared the winner. In that period the Chiefs would get the game-winner 5:27 into the overtime when Nolan Miner would score on the scramble in front of the net off the rebound to give the Chiefs the 1-0 win. In the winning effort, the Saranac Chiefs would advance to the Section VII Championship as Joey Mitchell would make 31 saves as the Chiefs go to 12-7-2 on the season. Gallery

Northeastern Clinton's Lucas Hemingway (13) takes it around Beekmantown's Louis Sweenor (55) as they pass the blue line into the offense zone. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Boy's Hockey D2 playoffs. The #1 Beekmantown Eagles would be hosting the #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars who advance to the semi-finals earlier in the week with a win over the Plattsburgh Hornets. The winner of this semi-final match would advance to the Section VII Championship on February 27th against the winner of the Saranac Chiefs and Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers game. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get the opening goal of the game just 29 seconds into the game on the Luke Moser goal. The Cougars would come right back though and tie the game up at the 5:41 mark of the period on the Marcus Bedard goal. The Eagles would keep swinging and take the lead back at the halfway mark of the period when Zack Lapier would light the lamp and give the Eagles the 2-1 lead. The Eagles would be able to expand their lead to two goals at 3-1 at the 14:11 mark on the Sam Bingel goal and that's where the first period would come to an end. When the teams returned for the second the Cougars would score 3:50 into the second to make it a one-goal game at 3-2 on the Willie Simpson goal. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Luke Moser would answer just 68 seconds later to make it a 4-2 game again. Then with just over a minute left in the period Eagles Sam Bingel would get the second goal of the game to send them into the locker room with a 5-2 lead. The Eagles would extend their lead to 6-2 on the short-handed goal at the 10:10 mark of the third period when Zack Lapier scored. Then in the final four minutes of the game, the Eagles would add three more goals from Lee Jarus, Louis Sweenor, and Keegan Seamone as they would get the 9-2 victory. Section VII Boy's Hockey Quarterfinals: #5 Plattsburgh Hornets @ #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars February 21st 2023

Northeastern Clinton's Owen Ebersol (14) and Plattsburgh's Hutch Ovios (13) battle for the loose puck just outside the blue line. It would be the opening game of the New York State Section VII Boy's Hockey Quarterfinals and the #5 Plattsburgh Hornets would travel up to the Rouses Point Civic Center and take on the #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars with the winner getting the right to play the #1 Beekmantown Eagles. The game would start off well for the visiting Hornets as they would get the opening goal of the game on the Jace Lacey goal at the 12:07 mark of the first period for the 1-0 Hornets lead. Then with just over a minute left in the opening period, Jace Lacey would strike again to give the upset-minded Hornets the 2-0 lead as the first period would come to end. Although when the teams would return to the second period the Cougars would cut the lead down to one just 5:17 into the period on the Marcus Bedard goal. The Cougars would keep the rush going and tie the game up at two just 22 seconds later on the Will Simpson goal and that's how the second period would come to end. The Cougars would start off the third period on fire with the go-ahead goal just 36 seconds into the third period on Will Simpson's second goal of the game for the 3-2 Cougars lead. The Hornets would keep the swarming and tie the game up at three with just over ten minutes left in the game on the Jace Lacey hat trick goal/ The tie would be short-lived though as the Cougars would retake the lead at 4-3 just over a minute later on the Lucas Hemingway goal. Then with just over five minutes left in the game, the Cougars would take the two-goal lead on the Will Simpson hat trick goal for the 5-3 lead. Although the Hornets would not just roll over and let the game go as they would score with the extra attacker with 12 seconds left in the game on the Braeden Calkins goal for the 5-4 game and that's where it would end. In the winning effort the #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars advance to the semi-finals and will play the #1 Beekmantown Eagles as Peter Judkins would make 11 saves in the win. It would be the last game of the regular season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey season and it would be between the host Plattsburgh Hornets and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars the winner of the game would host the play-in game of the playoffs of Tuesday. It would be a tight game throughout the early stages of the game as both teams looked like they didn't want to give up the first goal of the game and with that, the first period would go scoreless. The Cougars would finally break through and get the game's opening goal at the 4:02 mark of the second period on the Willie Simpson goal for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till there was 3:47 left in the period when Scott Wrye would score to give the Cougars the 2-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 9:28 mark of the third period when Carter Fredette would score to give the Cougars the 3-0 lead. The Hornets would finally break through and get on the board at the 13:09 mark of the third period as Braeden Calkins's goal make it a 3-1 game. Although the two-goal deficit would be short-lived as Cougars Willie Simpson would score just 40 seconds later for his second goal of the night and retake the 4-1 lead. Although the Hornets would keep fighting and they would score in the final of the game on the Jace Lacey 4x4 goal to make it 4-2. With the Northeastern Clinton Cougars win they will host the Plattsburgh Hornets in the play-in game of the upcoming sectional playoffs Tuesday with the winner getting the right to play #1 Beekmantown Eagles in the sectional semi-finals. The Eagles would strike first and quick with the Zach Lapier goal to make it a 1-0 Eagles 3:10 into the game. Then just over five minutes later the Eagles would score again to make it a 2-0 lead on the Sam Bingel goal. Then in the closing seconds of the period, the Eagles would make it 3-0 on the Quinn Brandell goal. The game would stay there till the 9:48 mark of the second period when Louis Sweenor would snip in from the blue line and make it a 4-0 game. Then just two minutes later the Eagles would make it a 5-0 game as Luke Moser would score from the slot. Then with 40 seconds left in the period Parker Broughton would score on the scramble in front of the net for the 6-0 game. The game would stay there always till the last minute of the game when Luke Moser would get his second of the game for the 7-0 win. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would win the regular season crown and take the first seed in the upcoming playoffs and will meet up with the winner of Northeastern Clinton and Plattsburgh Hornets in the semi-final. Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers @ Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey February 15th 2023

Plattsburgh's Jace Calkins (10) picks off the pass and rifles the shot on net and ties the game at three late in the game. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boy's hockey as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers in the next to last game of the season. The Lakers would not be the best of guests as they would get the opening goal of the game with just over a minute left in the opening period as Kellan Duffey would find the back of the net for the 1-0 Lakers lead with the lone goal of the period. Although the Hornets would fight back in the early stages of the second period and get the game tied up on the shorthanded goal by Jace Lacey 3:13 into the period. The game would stay there til the 10:10 mark of the period when Jon Kratts would score on the powerplay to retake the one-goal lead at 2-1. Then exactly three minutes later the Lakers would double up their lead at 3-1 on the Kaden Darrah goal and that's how the period won ended. The home Hornets would keep fighting through and get them back within one on the Jace Lacey goal at the 4:29 mark of the third period. The Hornets would keep coming and with just over two minutes left in the game they would get the game-tying goal off a turnover that Jade Calkins would pick off the pass and bet the Lakers netminder on the breakaway and send the game to overtime. In the overtime, the Hornet's Jace Lacey would rip the shoot on the powerplay and beat the Lakers netminder for the game-winner and the hat trick on the night as the Hornets get the 4-3 win and go to 3-13 on the season while the Lakers will finish off the regular season at 6-8. It would be a matchup between the Saranac's in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers would host the #12 Saranac Chiefs at the Saranac Lake Civic Center The Chiefs would not be a very nice guest as they would score just 49 seconds into the game and get the quick 1-0 lead. Although the Lakers would have a quick response and tie the game at one just 50 seconds later so 98 seconds into the game and we would have two goals already. Just 90 seconds later the home Lakers would take the 2-1 lead on the Carson St. Louis goal. The game would stay there til just under three minutes left in the period the Chiefs would tie the game at 2 on the Zach O'Connell goal. The game would stay there till the 6:25 mark of the second period when the Lakers would regain the one-goal lead on Carson St. Louis's second goal of the night for the 3-2 game. However, the Chiefs would not give up this fight as Landen Duprey would score with three minutes left in the second period to tie the game up once again. In the third period, the Laker's offense would come alive and they would have three unanswered goals including the hat trick goal by Carson St. Louis as the Lakers would get the 6-3 victory. It would be the rare high school boy's hockey game on a Sunday as this was a makeup game from earlier in the season. It would feature the #2 Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers. The home Eagles would strike first and quickly just 1:25 into the first period when would throw in the rebound from Sam Bingel for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there through the rest of the period and the first 3:38 of the second period when Keegin Rodier would light the lamp and make it a 2-0 game and that's where the second period would end. Then just 3:59 into the third period the Eagles would strike again this time from Caleb Peryer for the 3-0 lead. The Eagles would keep the offense going this time on the shorthand as Sam Bingel would break in on net and get the goal for the 4-0 lead. The Eagles would keep coming and score again just 2:30 later on the Cooper Burdo goal and make it a 5-0 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finish off the Lakers as Parker Broughton would snip in the top of the net to secure the 6-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 15-1-2 on the season as Austin Dosier would make 13 saves for the shutout as the Lakers fall to 5-7 on the season. Saranac's Connor Graves (5) with the goal that sticks through the Blue Streaks netminder to make it a one-goal game at the time. It would be the second game of a weekend trip to the Capital District as the #12 Saranac Chiefs would this time travel to Saratoga Springs and take on the Saratoga Blue Streaks at the Vernon Arena. The game would be evenly matched through most of the first period until the Blue Streak would light the lamp with just over five minutes left to give the Blue Streaks the 1-0 lead. It would be more of the same throughout the second period until the Blue Streak would hit again this time on the powerplay and make it 2-0 on the Maddox Pemrick with just over two minutes left. The Blue Streaks wouldn't waste long in the third period in extending the lead to 3-0 on the Grady Frasier goal just 1:27 in. Although the Chiefs would answer right back and get on the board just 6 seconds later on the Evan Patrie goal to make it a 3-1 game. That wouldn't be the end of the Chiefs as they would make it a 3-2 game 2 minutes later on the Conor Graves goal. Although with just over 6 minutes left in the game, the Blue Streaks would regain their two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Daniel Klochaney goal and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort, the Blue Streaks go to 9-8-1 on the season. While the Saranac Chiefs fall to 10-4-2 on the season and will look to get back on the winning side next weekend when they travel to Rouses Point and take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. It would be a nonleague game inside the top 15 in the state New York State Boy's Hockey Division 2 as the #12 Saranac Chiefs would travel down to section 2 and take on the #9 Queensbury Spartans in what might be a new york state region in the state tournament in a few weeks. The teams would be very evenly matched through the first period and there would be no scoring in the first period. It would take till the 6:14 mark of the second period when Keegan Lozier would score to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there til the 9:43 mark of the period when the Spartans would score again this time from Nick Ogden to give the 2-0 lead. Then with just over five minutes left in the period, the Spartans would take control of the game on the Tanner Freeman goal as the score would go to 3-0. The Chiefs would keep fighting and get on the board just three minutes into the third period on the Evan Patrie goal to keep the game alive at 3-1. The game would stay there until the final five minutes when Chiefs' Landin Duprey would get saddled with a five-minute boarding call. On the issuing powerplay, the Spartans would light the lamp three times from Ethan Kelsey Michael Deutsch, and Tyler Dufour and take the 6-1 victory. In the losing effort, the Chiefs fall to 10-4-3 on the season and will play the Saratoga Blue Streaks tomorrow while the Queensbury Spartans will go to 12-3 and will be back in action tomorrow against Bethlem. It would take just 45 seconds for the first goal of the game as the Chief's Landin Duprey would light the lamp for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 5:40 mark of the period Nolan Miner would score to extend their lead to a 2-0 lead. Then at the 10:41 mark of the period the Chiefs would score again on Duprey's second goal of the period and take a -0 lead to end the period. When the teams came out for the second period the teams would play pretty even throughout and there would be no scoring as the Chiefs would hold onto their 3-0. The Chiefs would keep the scoring going as they would light the lamp 4:07 into the period when Zack O'Connell would score to make it a 4-0 game. The game would stay there till the ten-minute mark of the period when the Chiefs would score twice in 45 seconds from Landin Duprey (for the hat trick) and Nolan Miner (second of the night) to make it a 6-0 Chiefs lead. Then with just over three minutes left in the game, the Chiefs would end their scoring outburst when Zack O'Connell would get the second of the night for the 7-0 win. It would be standing room only at the Amer-can North Sports Complex tonight as it would be a match-up of a pair of teams ranked inside the top 15 in the state as the #14 Saranac Chiefs Chiefs coming in on 6 games winning streak hosting the #2 Beekmantown Eagles that came in unbeaten on the season. It would take till the 6-minute mark of the first period before we had our first goal between these two high-spirited teams when Sam Bingel would light the lamp twice in that minute to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead. Then at the 9:25 mark of the period the Chiefs would get on the board when Evan Patrie would hit the rebound goal to make it a 2-1 game. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Keegan Seemone would score thirty seconds later to make it a two-goal lead again for the Eagles. The Chiefs would not end out the period strong as Landen Duprey would score twice to end the period and the teams would go into the locker room tied at three. The Chiefs would keep the train moving as they would score just 3:36 into the second period to give them their first lead of the game at 4-3 on the Nolan Miner goal. Then at about the midway mark of the period, Zach O'Connell will score to give the Chiefs the 5-3 lead. The game would stay there til the 14-minute mark of the period when Sam Bingel (hat trick) and Zach Lapier would score to tie the game at five as they went into the second intermission. When the teams returned for the third period the Eagles would be riding their excitement as they would take the 6-5 lead at the 5:36 mark of the period on Sam Bingel's 4th goal of the night. Then with under 90 seconds left in the game, he would strike again for the 7-5, and the Eagles would add an empty netter to secure the 8-5 win. In the winning effort, Austin Doser would make 27 saves as they go to 9-0-1 on the season and the Chiefs fall to 7-2-2 on the season as Joey Mitchell had 25 saves on the night. The Saranac Chiefs would have a nonleague match-up from Section V tonight as they would host the #11 Churchville-Chilli Saints at the Amer-can North Sports Center. The game would start well for the home Chiefs as they would get the game's opening goal from Nolan Miner just 90 seconds into the contest. The game would stay there all the way till the 4:19 mark of the second period when Max McKay would score on the breakaway for the Saints and make it a 1-1 game. Although the Chiefs would keep coming and coming and under four minutes left in the period they would retake the lead at 2-1 on the Adrian Barnes goal. That's where the game would stay till the last 1:19 of the game when the Chiefs would score as Nolan Miner would get his second goal of the game and extend the Chief's lead to 3-1. Although there wasn't much time left in the game it wouldn't take the fight out of the Saints as they would score with the extra man from Beckham Clancy with four seconds left. The Chiefs would get the 3-2 win on the night behind the 24 saves a night of Joey Mitchell as the Chiefs go to 7-1-2 on the season. Saranac's Ashtyn Catlin (3) hit on the Hornet's forwards and they crash into the boards. It would be the battle for AC North as the two teams that both call Ameri-can North Arena home would faceoff in their first of two meetings on the season as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Plattsburgh Hornets. The game would start off very well for the Chiefs as they would get the opening goal of the game just a minute into the game from Nolan Miner and the 1-0 lead. Then with about ten minutes left in the period, they would extend the lead to 2-0 on the goal by Ben Phinney and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Chiefs would stay hot as they would make it a 3-0 game just 2:25 into the period on a goal from Evan Patrie. Later in the period, the Chiefs would strike again staying hot as Landen Duprey would score to make it a 4-0 game. Then the third period would start just like the other two with a quick from Zach O'Connell although this time Jonathan Roy would add his own goal right behind O'Connell and make it a 6-0 game. From there the Chiefs would do the rest and get the 6-0 shutout victory and go to 4-1-2 on the season while the Hornets fall to 1-3 season. Gallery

It would be the start of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play as the Saranac Chiefs would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in a rematch of last year's semifinal game that saw the Cougars win in overtime. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would score just 1:44 into the match on the Landon Duprey to make it a 1-0 game. However, the lead would be short-lived as the Cougars would tie the game at one at the three-minute mark of the match from Owen Ebersol. That is where the game would stay till the 1:24 mark of the second period and in total, the Cougars would score three times in the first 5:20 of the period from Peyton Palmer, and two from Winnie Simpson for the 4-1. However, the Chiefs would go on a streak of their own scoring 4 goals in the tens and retaking the lead at 5-4 on goals from Nolan Miner (twice), Zach O'Connell, and Evan Patrie. Then during the third period, the Cougars would keep on fighting and get the equalizer at the 11:27 mark from Eddie Bullriss and from there the game would go to overtime. In that overtime period, Zach O'Connell would get the game-winner at 1:55 on the breakaway goal for the second of the night. Potsdam's goaltender dive's back and make the save on Beekmantown's Keegin Rodier. It would be a non-league game as the Beekmantown Eagles would host from Section X the Potsdam Sandstoners as both teams were looking to get the 2023 portion of the season started the right way. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get on the board at about the five minutes of the first period on the Zach Lapier goal. The lead would only last about five minutes as the Sandstoners would tie the game at one. The game would stay there til there the 12:00 mark of the period when Sam Bingel would score to make it a 2-1 Eagles lead. The lead would be short-lived as the Sandstoners would tie the game at two. The Sandstoners would start off the second period hot as they would score three goals in the first two minutes and take a 5-2 lead. Then just 19 seconds later the Eagles would slow rush as they would get their own goal from Zach Lapier for his second of the game and make it a 5-3 game. Then at the 5:16 mark of the period, the Eagles would make it a one-goal game on the power play goal at 5-4. Then with under two minutes left in the period, the Sandstoners would regain their two-goal lead at 6-4. Then at the 7:48 mark of the third period, Cooper Burdo would score to make it a one-goal game again at 6-5. Then with 6:30 minutes left in the game, the Eagles would come all the way back and tie the game on Zach Lapier's third goal of the game. The game would head to overtime and in that period Keegan Seamone would score 1:44 into the overtime and get the 7-6 win.
