Saranac's Evan Patrie (6) flips it over the goal pads to put the Chiefs on the board at 3-1. It would be a nonleague game inside the top 15 in the state New York State Boy's Hockey Division 2 as the #12 Saranac Chiefs would travel down to section 2 and take on the #9 Queensbury Spartans in what might be a new york state region in the state tournament in a few weeks. The teams would be very evenly matched through the first period and there would be no scoring in the first period. It would take till the 6:14 mark of the second period when Keegan Lozier would score to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there til the 9:43 mark of the period when the Spartans would score again this time from Nick Ogden to give the 2-0 lead. Then with just over five minutes left in the period, the Spartans would take control of the game on the Tanner Freeman goal as the score would go to 3-0. The Chiefs would keep fighting and get on the board just three minutes into the third period on the Evan Patrie goal to keep the game alive at 3-1. The game would stay there until the final five minutes when Chiefs' Landin Duprey would get saddled with a five-minute boarding call. On the issuing powerplay, the Spartans would light the lamp three times from Ethan Kelsey Michael Deutsch, and Tyler Dufour and take the 6-1 victory. In the losing effort, the Chiefs fall to 10-4-3 on the season and will play the Saratoga Blue Streaks tomorrow while the Queensbury Spartans will go to 12-3 and will be back in action tomorrow against Bethlem.
