The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host north country rival the Potsdam State Bears in Northeast Women's Hockey League action in front of 350 fans. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game at the seven-minute mark on from Taylor Whitney for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would strike again in the thirteenth minute on the Abby Brush goal for the 2-0 lead. In the final couple minutes of the period, Katlin Drew Nead would score to take a 3-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second period the Cardinals would keep the pedal and score three more times from Sarah Wolfe, Ivy Boric and Abby Brush for the 6-0 lead. In the third period, the Cardinals would slow down and only get one from Sara Krauseneck to secure the 7-0 victory. In the winning effort, Ashley Davis would make 14 stops for the shutout as they go to 9-1 on the season. Gallery

Malone Huskies @ Saranac Chiefs - High School Boys Hockey - December 3rd 2019

Saranac's Austin Carpenter (6) lines up the shot on Malone's Jeremiah Schraf (30). It would be the start of the season for both the Saranac Chiefs as they would host the Malone Huskies. The game would start off good for the Chiefs as Nolan Knight would get the first goal two minutes into the game. The game would stay there till the 12-minute mark of the period when Chiefs Austin Carpenter would strike to make it a 2-0 game. Although Carpenter wouldn't stop there as he would strike again in the final minute of the period to make it 3-0. The game would stay there through the second period as there was no scoring. As the third period would start the Chiefs would add another one 31 seconds on the Zack O'Connell goal for the 4-0 lead. From there the Chiefs would shut the Huskies down and secure the 4-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs start the season at 1-0 while the Huskies fall to 0-1. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Ava Julian (1) with the glove save on quick wrister. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies in an early-season Upstate New York Hockey League game. The game would start off good as the Hornets would get the quick 1-0 lead seven seconds into the game on the Avery Holland goal. Although the Huskies would answer right back at the 35-second mark on the Whitney St. Hillaire goal to make it 1-1. The game would stay there till midway through the second period when Reylyn Giroux would score for the Hornets to make it 2-1. Then at the 4:30 mark of the third period, the Hornets would double there lead on the Gillian Boule goal to make it 3-1. Although the Huskies would answer right back seventeen seconds later on the Alyx St. Hillaire goal to make it 3-2. Then at the nine-minute mark, the Hornets would regain the two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Mckenzie Brown goal. Then in the final minute, the Hornets would add an empty netter from Reylyn Giroux her second of the game to secure the 5-2 win. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 5-0 while the Huskies fall to 1-1 on the season. Gallery

Middlebury Panthers Vs #3 Wisconsin Eau Claire Blugold - Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship - NCAA Men's Hockey - November 30th 2019

Wisconsin Eau Claire's Nick Techel (22) with the check that rides Middlebury's Connor Breen (10) into the broads. It would be the finals of the 22nd annual Primelink Great Northern Shootout and would feature the Middlebury Panthers and #3 Wisconsin Eau Claire Blugold. The game would start off good for the underdog Panthers as they would score 3 minutes in on the Matt Danner goal for the 1-0 lead. Although the Blugold would answer back with two goals in the first period from Nick Techel and Jard Vroman for the 2-1 lead. In the second period, the Blugold would expand there lead to 4-1 on goals from Derek Hammer and Cole Paskus. In the third period though the Panthers wouldn't go quitely as they would get two goals late from Emack Bentley and Zach Shapiro to make it tight down the stretch. Although the Blugold would hold on for the 4-3 victory and be crowned the 2019 Primelink Great Northern Shootout champion. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Philip Middleton (4) shot attempt off the rebound that went to his stick. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #1 Norwich Cadets in the consolation game of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout in front of 1100 fans. The Cadets would get the opening goal of the game from Coby Downs at the seven-minute mark of the first period. The Cardinals would answer back on the powerplay in the fourteenth minute with the Rich McCartney goal. Although from there the Cardinals would have no answer for number one as they would get four unanswered goals from Gabriel Chicocine, Jordan Hall and two more from Coby Downs to finish off the hat trick. In the winning effort, the Cadets get third place and go to 9-1 on the season while the Cardinals fall to 3-5-1 on the season. Gallery

#1 Norwich Cadets Vs Middlebury Panthers - Primelink Great Northern Shootout Semi-Finals - NCAA Men's Hockey - November 29th 2019

Middlebury's Conor Breen (10) with the crunching hit along the boards on Norwich's Felix Brassard (8). #1 Norwich Cadets would matchup with rival Middlebury Panthers in the Semi-finals of the 22nd Primelink Great Northern Shootout. It would be another great game between two great teams. The game would remain scoreless through the first period. Middlebury's Matt Danner would break the ice at the 11-minute mark to give the underdog Panthers the lead. The Cadets would keep fighting and tie the game up in the final minute of the second period on the Felix Brassard powerplay goal. The game would end up going to overtime as neither team could score in the third period, not for the lack of chances. In the overtime Panthers Zach Shapiro would get the game-winner on a scramble in front of the net to complete the upset victory. With the win, the Panthers go to 4-1 on the season and head to the championship while the Norwich Cadets suffer there first loss of the season and go to the consolation game. Gallery

It would be time for the second semi-final game of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout and the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the #3 Wisconsin Eau Claire Blugood in front of 1400 fans. It would not start off good for the home team as the Blugold would score twice in the first period from Scott Munro and Jake Bresser to make it 2-0 after one. In the second period, the Cardinals wouldn't fare much better as the Blugold would get another to 3-0 on the Zach Kennedy goal. In the third period, the Cardinals wouldn't have much left as they would give up three more goals Jon Richards twice and Andrew McGlynn. Although the Cardinals would avoid the shutout on a goal by Ryan Hogg on the powerplay for the 6-1 Blugood win. In the winning effort, Wisconsin Eau Claire stays undefeated and head to the finals against Middlebury. While the Cardinals fall to 3-4-1 and have a matchup with #1 Norwich Cadets in the third-place game. Gallery

Hamilton Centennials @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals - Cardinal Classic Championship - Women's SUNYAC Basketball - November 23rd 2019

Plattsburgh State's Kayla Doody (3) with the three from the corner part of a ten-point afternoon. It would be the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Hamilton Centennials in the Cardinal Classic Championship. The game would not start of the greatest for the home team as they would trail Hamilton by a score of 24-10 at the end of the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Cardinals game would step and they would win the quarter 19-14 and cut the deficit in half at 38-29. When the teams came back from the intermission Hamilton would regain their first quarter ways and win the quarter 23-15 and extend there lead to 61-44. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would try there best but the teams would have an equal quarter and the Cardinals win the quarter 17-15 but Hamilton wins 76-61. In the losing effort, Theresa Quinn would lead the way with 21 points as they fall to 2-3 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Christian DiFelice (23) slides through the would be blocker along the end boards. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host North Country rival the Potsdam State Bears in SUNYAC action in front of 1500 fans. The game would start off good for the Cardinals as they would get the two opening goals from Brendan Young and Liam Lawson. Although the Bears would get one late to make it 2-1 after one. In the second period the teams would explode for 5 goals combined. In doing so the Cardinals would have a 5-3 after the second period. Scoring for the Cardinals would be Ryan Hogg, Liam Lawson, and Christian Dahl. In the third period the Bears would do there best to make the comeback but the Cardinals would get the 7-5 win with goals from Ryan Hogg and Philip Middleton. In the winning effort the Cardinals go to 3-3-1 on the season and leading the way would be Liam Lawson and Philip Middleton with three point nights. Gallery

The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the newest member of the member of the Northeast Womens Hockey League the Canton Kangaroos. The Cardinals would not be the best of host as they score 38 seconds into the game on the Ivy Boric goal to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The Cardinals would answer again at the 4:36 mark of the period on the Madison Walker goal to make it 2-0 Cardinals. Before the period would end the Cardinals would strike two more times to make it 4-0 on goals from Holly Schmelzer and Annie Kantonka. The Cardinals would lighten up the rest of the game and get just one more at the 9:51 mark of the second period from Annie Katonka for her second of the game to make it 5-0 Cardinals. The Kangaroos would avoid the shutout with a goal by Alyssa Suzuki at the 1:54 mark of third period. The Cardinals would secure the 5-1 win and go to 7-0 on the season.
