It would be game 7 of Adirondack Slow Pitch League and it would pit the Store Tavern and Leroux Fuels. It would be a game that Store Tavern would take control of from the start to finish with some help with some costly errors by Leroux Fuels. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Baseball: Saranac Chiefs (JV) Vs Beekmantown Eagles (JV) May 18 2015

Saranac's Hunter Williams (5) with the tag at second to get them would-be base stealer. It would be the last JV game of the season and it would match up the Saranac Chiefs and the Beekmantown Eagles. The Eagles would jump out to an 8-1 lead after the fourth inning. Then the Chiefs would slowly start crawling there way back into the game as they would get a couple in the fifth to make it 8-3. Then in the sixth, they would great three more to make it 8-6. Unfortunately though the rain would start coming and hard and the game would be called after the sixth inning to give the Eagles the 8-6 victory. Gallery

Mini-Modifieds Steven Hemingway (18ny) and Tyler Irwin (54) would get tangled up during the feature coming off of turn four. It would be week two of racing at Airborne Park Speedway with the Mini-Modifieds, Renegades, Modifieds and the fewature event the ACT Bill McBride Spring Green 115 presented by Interestate Batteries. The race event was originally scheduled for the night before but was moved back cause of bad weather. The dricers would come out to play and play hard on Sunday as the only walk away winner would be Dale O'Neill in the Mini-Modifieds. The in the second feature of the day it would be Leon Gonyo taking the checkered flag as he was chased hard by Nick Heywood through out the race. The next up would be the Renegades features and that would feature a couple of late race restarts and would see Josh Terry hold on against Shawn Duquette at the finish line for a photo finish victory. Then it would be time for the main event of the afternoon the ACT Spring Green 115 and it would be a two man race between Joey Polewarczyk and Patrick Laperle and the progressive banking would allow them to go side by side for many laps with the eventual win going to Joey Polewarczyk. The drivers of airborne are off until May 30th when the Mini-Modifieds, Renegades and Modifieds (Double Feature) will take to the take with the Endro Series. Gallery

Store Tavern's Jason Favaro (3) fields the grounder into the glove and fires to first for the out. It would be a matchup in the A division of the Adirondack Slow Pitch Softball League between the Store Tavern and Handy Dan Home Improvement. The teams would tried runs in the first inning and be tied at one. The Store Tavern would add a run in the third and take a 2-1 lead. Then in the fourth, they add three more runs while Handy Dan's would add one and make it 5-2. The in the fifth inning the Store Tavern would erupt for four runs and take a 9-2 lead. Handy Dan's would try and make a last inning comeback in the seventh but it would fall short as they would get three runs and the Store Tavern would hold on for the 9-5 victory. In the winning effort, the Store Tavern would get back to 500 at 2-2 while Handy Dan's falls to 0-3. Gallery

In a game that would be a slugfest in every sense of the word. As the Store Tavern would have a 15-13 lead heading into the 6th and they would give up 5 runs and fall 18-15. Store Tavern's Shane Perotte (2) with the pick at short and fire to first for the out. It would be the second game of the season between the Store Tavern and Dragoon's Farm Equipment. Dragoon's would get off to a good start getting two in the second and three in third for the 5-0 lead. Then in the fourth, the Store Tavern would start there come back as they would get one to make it 5-1. Then in the fifth, they would add four to tie the game at five. Then in the sixth, they would get the eventual go-ahead run and hold on for the 6-5 win. In the winning effort, the Store Tavern would go to 1-1 while Dragoon's Farm Equipment would fall to 1-1 on the season. Gallery

Store Tavern's Jason Favaro (3) with the catch in the infield to record the out. It would be opening night of the Adirondack Slow Pitch Softball League and it would feature the Store Tavern Vs the Hitmen. It would not be a good night for the store tavern as they would have to go against the defending Class A Champs. It would be a 2-1 one game after the first inning. Then in the second inning, the hitmen would explode for ten runs and take the 12-1 lead and from there the rout was on. The game would be called after the 5th inning when with the Hitmen getting the 16-3 victory. With that, the Store Tavern starts the first half at 0-1 while the Hitmen are 1-0. Gallery

Jason Durgan (17) cuts to the bottom of turn 1 and flings the dirt as he gets past Jason Furman (55) during the Modified Fed Ex 100 and get a third place finish on the night. It would be the season opener at Airborne Park Speedway with the Late Models, Renegades, Mini-Modified, with the feature event being the Modified 100 lapper. There would a total of 64 cars that would show up throughout the four divisions in front of a packed house. The first feature of the night would be the mini-mods and Tyler Irwin would get the win and score his first career victory as he would pass Dave O'Neill with 5 laps to go. The second feature of the night would be the Late Models 25 lapper at the front it would be Bobby Therein and Josh Masterson battling for the top spots the first half but Bobby Therein would prevail and capture the win. Then on tap would be the Renegades 30 lapper would be Richie Turner who would lead the race from wire to wite. Then it would be time for the main event of the evening the Modified FedEx 100 Nick Heywood would start on the pole and get the win. Although it would not be without a hot battle from Bucko Branham would be on the bumper the whole time until a late caution came out and Branham ran out of feul under the caution closing out the top three would be Greg Atkins and Jason Drugan. Airborne Speedway will not be in action until May 16th when they have there regular show plus the ACT Spring Green 115. Gallery

It would be the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #1 Cortland State Red Dragons in the last of a three-game set. It would not be another good day on the field for the Cardinals. They would actually get the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The lead would last till the fourth inning when the Red Dragons would explode with six runs and take a 6-1 lead. They would add one in the fifth and two in the ninth to secure the 9-1 victory. With the loss the Cardinals would get a sweep on the weekend and drop to 12-20 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Chris Perscetti (44) with the reception at first for the close out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #1 Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC doubleheader action. It would not be a very good day for the Cardinals. In the first game, the Red Dragons would score multiple runs in seven of the nine innings. The best inning for the Cardinals would be the ninth when they would score four runs in the inning. With that being said the Red Dragons would cruise to the 25-8 victory in game one of the doubleheader. In the second game of the doubleheader the Red Dragons would get one in the first, three in the second, and one in the sixth and seventh to secure the 6-0 win. With the Cardinals getting sweep they would fall to 12-19 on the season. Gallery
