Plattsburgh State Cardinals Jenny Kistner (8) swings it to outside to avoid the defender. The #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get the 4-1 victory over the Buffalo State Bengals in ECAC-West play. The Cardinals would open up the scoring in the second on three goals coming from Alyssa Parke, Allison Era, and Jenny Kistner. They would add one from Emma Rutherford in the third period. The Bengals would get a goal late to make it 4-1. Sydney Aveson would stop 20 of 21 as the Cardinals improve to 6-2-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Carl Munnerlyn (3) with the floater down the baseline for two of his twenty-nine points. The defending SUNYAC champions would pick up right where they left off last season as they beat the Hawks 87-73. The Cardinals run and gone style of offense would be the key to the victory as the Hawks just couldn't keep up in the late going. Carl Munnerlun would lead the way with 29 points. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs #1 Norwich Cadets November 29th 2010

Plattsburgh State's Jared Docking (39) tried to slide it into the bottom corner although the Norwich goalie gets the glove on the pick at the last minute. The game would be tied at o after the 1st period. Then the Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead just two minutes into the 2nd period on the Eric Satim goal. Although the Cadets would answer right back to tie the game at 1 three minutes later. The Cadets would take the 2-1 8 minutes into the third. Then the Cardinals would score two goals in just over a minute from Nick Jensen and Matt Bessing to capture the title 3-2. In the winning effoer John Leis stops 29 shots and Eric Satim was named the touranment MVP. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Primelink Great Northern Shootout Semi-Finals Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs St. John's (MN) Johnnies November 28th 2010

Plattsburgh State's Dylan Clarke (24) put the puck up over the leg of the St. John's goalie for one of his two goals on the night. The game would turn into a shootout as the Cardinals would get the 7-4 win. The two teams would score early and often in the first period combining for 5 goals and the Cardinals would trail 3-2 on goals from Cody Adams and Dylan Adams. In the 2nd period, the Cardinals would get three unanswered goals to lead 5-3 on goals from Eric Satin, Vick Schlueter, and Patrick Jobbs. In the third period, the Cardinals would finish off the Johnnies for the 7-4 win on goals from Dan Sliasis & Dylan Clarke (2nd of the night). In the winning effort, John Leis would stop 22. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Nick Jensen (14) shot on net is deflected high and wide by Morrisville State goaltender. The #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals were upset by Morrisville State 3-2 for the home opener of the 2010-2011 hockey season. The downfall for the Cardinals would be that had a hard time staying out of the penalty box and the Mustangs capitalized with two power-play goals (2-8 on the night). Along with not being able to get there power play going as they went 1-9 on the night with the man up. The cardinals will home to get back on the right track next weekend as they will host Buffalo State and Fredonia. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up there 2011-2012 campaign with a 5-0 victory at home against fellow ECAC-West member Potsdam State Bears. The game would be close at 1-0 entering the 3rd period until the Cardinals would light lamp four times to secure the 5-0 win. Empire Football League Championship Plattsburgh North Stars vs Watertown Red & Black October 9th 2010

Plattsburgh North Stars Harry Rascoe (#39) fends off the Red & Black defenders as he cuts around the edge goes into the open field. The North Stars would take the early 3-0 lead on Mitch Ryder's 40-yard goal. The lead would hold until midway through the second quarter when the Red & Black would answer with 10 unanswered points to take the 10-3 lead into the locker room. In the third quarter, the North Stars would trim into the deficit on a Mitch Ryder field goal that squeaked over the crossbar to make it 10-6 Red & Black. The North Stars would get the game-winning score 4 minutes into the fourth quarter Touchdown reception by Trevor St. Clair. The Red & Black did have a chance to send it into overtime as they pushed a 30-yard field goal attempt wide with 17 seconds remaining and with the celebration was on. Gallery

Empire Football League Semi-Finals Plattsburgh North Stars vs Amsterdam Zephyrs October 2nd 2010

Plattsburgh North Stars Kyle Babbie (#52) comes flying through the air for the sack of the Amsterdam Zephyrs quarterback. The Plattsburgh North Stars would waste very little time in taking care of the Amsterdam Zephyrs in the Empire Football League Semi-Finals. The North Stars would go for the 31-0 victory. In the winning effort, Kenny Stay would throw for three touchdown passes and they would get another on the ground. With the convincing victory the North Stars would step up a rematch of last year's Empire Football League Championship with the Watertown Red & Black expect this time it will be in Plattsburgh as they look to avenge last year's 6-0 defeat. There were many great sides by side races during the day. The crowd-pleasers were always when the Arctic Cat line up against the Ski-Doo.The local area snow sled clubs from Ellenburg, Plattsburgh, Peru, and Saranac held there 4th annual sled drags for the third year at the Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY. There were around 35 competitors in the 16 different classes that competed to benefit the different clubs. Everyone was very pleased with the turnout and are looking forward to next year's races.
