Northeastern Clinton's Brayden Monette (22) would break in and lay the ball off the window for two points on the night. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference tilt as the host Peru Nighthawks would take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on a senior night for Peru. Although the seniors were honored before the game it would not be meant to be on this night as the Cougars would have a 25-19 lead at the half despite the best efforts by Nighthawks. When the teams would return for the second half the Nighthawks would try their best to stay in the game but the Cougars would have a 28-13 quarter and cruise to the 53-32 win. In the winning effort for the Cougars, Gillbo and Manor would lead the way 12 points as they go to 7-11 on the season. As for the Nighthawks, Samuel Godfrey would have a game of 17 points but it wouldn't be enough as they fall to 2-15 on the season. Gallery

Beekmantown Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets February 8th 2022

Beekmantown's Austin Dosier (31) with the save as Plattsburgh Hayden Colburn (20) comes crashing into the net as part of a 15 save night for the shutout win. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference between crosstown foes as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Beekmantown Eagles at the Ameri-can Arena. It would be a hard-hitting affair from the beginning and with that, the Eagles would get on the board first at the 12:15 mark of the first period on the Luke Moser goal. The game would stay there till the last 45 seconds period when Zachary LaPier would break in and score to extend the lead to 2-0. When the teams return for the second period it would be more of the same with the lone goal of the period coming from Quinn Brandell with 4:02 left to make it a 3-0 Eagles lead/ In the third period the Eagles would keep up the pressure and extend the lead to 4-0 at the 11:10 mark on the DJ Gonyo goal. Then to leave no doubt in the outcome they would add one more from James Burnham with under three minutes left to secure the 5-0 win and in that winning effort, Austin Dosier would stop all 15 shots for the shutout victory. Schroon Lake Wildcats @ Plattsburgh Hornets February 7th 2022

Schroon Lake's (14) with the three from the wing to help her team take the lead. It would be an interconference game this even as the Schroon Lake Wildcats from the Mountain Valley Conference would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets from the Champlain Valley Conference. The game would start off great for the road Wildcats as they would jump out to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets would start to get their legs and shut down the Wildcats with an 8-3 quarter although they would still trail 18-13 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the teams would be fairly evenly matched as the Hornets would win slightly 13-11 with the Wildcats still leading 29-27 as they headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would start to run out of gas and the wildcats would get 14-9 quarter and a 43-36 victory. In the winning effort, the Wildcats go to 10-4 while the Hornets fall to 6-10 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Joey Mancuso (13) with the goal as he cuts across the front of the net and gets knocked to the ice as the puck crosses the line. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would come into the night looking for the sweep of western new york as they would host the Fredonia State Blue Devils in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action. In the opening period of the game, the Cardinals would have an offensive outburst with five goals Joey Mancuso (twice), Jake Lanyl, Trey Thomas, and Bennet Stockdale. While the Blue Devils would do their best to keep it honest with a goal by Parker Brakebill for a 5-1 game after the first period. In the second period, the Cardinals would keep hitting as they would get two more from Brendan Young and Trey Thomas second of the night for a 7-1 game headed into the third. In that third period, there would be no stopping the Cardinals as they would have another outburst this time for 6 goals from Christian Difelice, Mitchell Hale, Jale Lanyl (second of the game), Jack Ring, Adam Tretowicz, Joey Mancuso to complete his hat trick and secure the 13-1 win. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would have their biggest win since 1998 and go to 13-7-3 on the season as they will be on the road next weekend. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Joey Mancuso (13) with the goal on the wide-open night as he drops to a knee sliding in. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host cross state foe the Buffalo State Bengals in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal just 2:23 into the game on the Paul Bryer for the 1-0 lead. The Bengals would answer back in about the same amount of time at the 5:06 mark from Nikita Kozyrev to tie the game at one. The Bengals would keep fighting and take the lead at the 12:04 mark of the first on the Tyler Vanuden for the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep looking for the equalizer and they would get that equalizer at the 5:36 mark of the second period on Joey Mancuso's second goal of the night and tie the game at two. Then with just under three minutes left in the period, the Cardinals would regain the lead at 3-2 on the shorthanded goal by Pavel Kharin. The Bengals wouldn't let that stand though as they would for the third time on the night tied the game this time from Andrew Logar at the 7:26 mark of the third period. Although the Cardinals would put the Bengals away once and for all with their second short-handed goal of the game at the 14:29 mark of the third period thanks to Trey Thomas and secure the 4-3. In the winning effort, Jacob Hearne would make 17 saves as they go to 12-7-3 on the season and clinch their spot in the SUNYAC Tournament in a couple of weeks. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Braeden Calkins (12) with the rebound goal that he stuffs in the corner pass the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid goal. It would be the third meeting of the season between the Plattsburgh Hornets and the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would start off good for the visiting Lakers as they would get on the board in the first minute of the game. The Hornets would answer back quickly at the 2:10 mark on the goal by Braeden Calkins and tie the game at one, The game would stay there till the 13:20 mark on the Lakers would regain the one-goal lead at 2-1. Although the Hornets would have answered with under two minutes left in the first period when Bostyn Duquette would light the lamp to tie the game at two. The Hornets wouldn't waste long in the second period and take the 3-2 lead at just 1:44 into the second period on the Jace Lacey goal. The Hornets would strike again and quickly just two minutes later when Jackson Kain would score on the power play and make it a 4-2 game. Then to close a fast five minutes the Hornets would strike again this time again from Braeden Calkins for his second of the night to make it a 5-2 game. Then early in the third period, the Hornets would put the icing on the cake with a goal by Drew Knowles to make this a 6-2 game. In the closing stages of the game, the Lakers would get one from Tyler Hinckley to make it a 6-3 game and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort for the Hornets, Ty Calkins would make 19 saves as they go to 3-2-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Jacob Mordy (4) comes in on the break and puts it over the shoulder for the goal. It would be a SUNYAC affair as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in Men's College Hockey action, The game would start off with fury as in 2:30 span from the 5:20 to the 8:03 mark of the first period the Cardinals would light the lamp three times from Kevin Weaver Vitale, Adam Tretowics, and Jacob Modry for a 3-0 lead. The Eagles would get into the action at the 11:54 mark of the first period on a goal from Ryan Romeo to make it a 3-1 game. Although the Cardinals would regain the three-goal lead at the 13:41 mark Carson Gallagher would get in on the action to make it a 4-1 game. That is where the game would stay till the 5:36 mark of the second period when Connor Galloway would score for the Eagles to get them back within 2 goals at 4-2. That is where the game would stay all the way till the last 90 seconds of the game when Ryan Romeo would get second of the game to make it a 4-3 game down the stretch. Although the Cardinals would off the Eagles late surge for the 4-3 win. In the winning effort, the Cardinals go to 11-7-3 as Jacob Hearne would have 18 saves on the night to get his first career NCAA to win. #2 Geneseo State Knights @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 29th 2022

Plattsburgh State's Adam Tretowicz (21) gets the Cardinals on the board as he drops to a knee. It would be the first SUNYAC game of the second half of the season as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #2 Geneseo State Knights. The #2 wouldn't wait long as they jump out to a 1-0 lead just 55 seconds into the game on the Domenic Garozzo goal. The Knights would extend their lead to 2-0 at the 9:50 mark n a powerplay goal from Justin Cmunt. Then just 25 seconds later Adam Tretowicz would get the Cardinals on the board and make it a 2-1 game. The Cardinals would keep fighting and tie the game up at two on the Paul Bryer goal at the 14:39 mark. Although with just 12 seconds left in the first period the Knights Dan Bosio would score to make it a 3-2 game. That is where the game would stay all the way till the 3:33 mark of the third period when the Cardinals Trey Thomas would tie the game up at three. The Knights would fight back and regain the lead at 8:30 of the period on Peter Morgan's powerplay goal. Then at the 12:18 mark, the Knights would make it a two-goal game on Domenic Garozzo second goal of the game at 5-3. Then with under a minute left in the game, the Knights Domenic Garozzo would finish off the hat trick night with an empty netter in a 6-3 game. In the losing effort, Anthony Del Tuffo would make 37 saves as they fall to 10-7-3 on the season. Next up for the Cardinals would be tomorrow night against the Brockport State Golden Eagles. Gallery

Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 27th 2022

Plattsburgh's Bostyn Duquette (4) with the crunching hit along the boards of Saranac's Roy (7) breaks up the play. The Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Plattsburgh Hornets for the third and deciding game of the regular season at the Amer-Can North Arena. It would be a very physical game throughout and it would take till the 11:05 mark of the first period for the opening goal from Hornets Jackson Kain for the 1-0 lead. The Hornets would extend their lead to 2-0 two minutes later on the Hayden Colburn goal. The Chiefs would answer back and cut the defect in half at 2-1 on the Buckley goal. The Saranac Chiefs would fight back and get the tie at 2-2 on the Hunter Provost goal. The game would stay there till the 10:37 mark of the period when the Hornets Jace Lacey would light the lamp for the 3-2 Hornets lead. Then in the final three minutes of the period, the Hornets would get their three-goal lead back on the Jackson Kain 2nd and third goal and make it 5-2 at the end of the second period. In the third period, the Hornets would have two unanswered goals from Jackson Kain (4th of the night) and Jace Lacey (second of the night) to secure the 7-2 win. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Hayden Colburn (20) and Beekmentown's Robert Tetreault (7) meet Hannah's father on center ice for the ceremonial puck drop before the start of the 8th Hannah's Hope game. It would be the 8th annual Hannah's Hope Charity game at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse between the Plattsburgh Hornets and Beekmantown Eagles. The teams would be feeling each other out for the first of the period until the Hornets would get the scoring going at the 7:52 mark to give the visiting Hornets the 1-0 lead., The lead would last about four minutes when the Eagles would get the equalizer at the 11:05 mark from Sam Bingel. Then just a minute later the Eagles would take the lead at the 12:05 mark on the Luke Moser goal and make it 2-1 Eagles. The Eagles would waste little time in the second period and extend their lead to 3-1 at the 1:49 mark of the period. The Eagles would start pulling away at the 8:16 mark of the period as they would make it a 4-1 game on Keegan Seamone's goal. The Hornets wouldnt give up the fight though and get it back to 4-2 on Dylan Patcher's goal. Although the Eagles would regain the three-goal lead at 5-2 with under two minutes left in the period on the James Burnham goal. Then in the third period, the Eagles would put the icing on the cake with 2 goals from Louis Sweenor and Sam Bingel (second of the game) to secure the 7-2 win. Gallery
