It would be the last game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would pit the Saranac Chiefs and Boquet Valley Griffins with the winner being named the boy portions champion. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would be on fire and have a 20-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would stay hot but the Griffins would find their stroke the Chiefs would win the quarter 20-16 and take a 40-19 lead into halftime. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would continue their hot hand with a 23-4 quarter and take a 63-23 lead into the 4th quarter. In that 4th quarter with the winning a forgone conclusion the Chiefs would win the quarter 16-7 and get the convincing 70-39 victory. With the win, the Saranac Chiefs win the boy's portion of the 2022 Holiday Classic making it a clean sweep for the Saranac Chiefs at the Holiday Classic the boy's team would go to 4-5 on the season and the Griffins fall to 3-3 on the year. Crown Point Panthers Vs Seton Catholic December 28th 2022

Crown Point's Alex Stone (12) with the tight full-court defense on Seton Catholic's Aiden Pearl (22) as he goes for the charge. It would be the second game of the day at the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Seton Catholic Knights would meet up with the Crown Point Panthers. It would look like a couple of evenly matched teams through the first quarter as the Panthers would have the slim 11-9 lead. In the second quarter, the Panthers would show their might with a 16-8 quarter and take a 27-17 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Knights would start to make their comeback as they would win the quarter 14-12 but still trail 39-31 as they headed to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would step up their defense and have a 10-2 quarter and force the overtime tied at 41. In that overtime it would be tight throughout as the Panthers would win 7-5 and get the 48-46 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers went 1-1 at the Holiday Classic and are 7-1 on the season as the Knights went 0-2 at the Holiday Classic and are 2-5 on the season. Gallery

Crown Point's Trevor Harris (34) with the hard contact as he derived the paint for the basket on Boquet Valley's Jackson Hooper (3). It would be the third game of the day on the opening day of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Crown Point Panthers and the Boquet Valley Griffins in a rematch of last season's section vii class d finals and it would be seen way throughout the game. It would be a very even game from the start so even that it would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, there still would be no separation as they would tie at twelve for the quarter and go into the intermission tied at 22. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be seen that the Panthers had regrouped their approach and would have a 22-14 quarter and take a 44-36 lead into the final quarter. In that final quarter it would be low scoring but the Panthers would win the quarter at 9-6 and hold on for the 53-42 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers would now take on the Saranac Chiefs on December 28th as they would go for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic title and go to 6-1 on the season as the Griffins fall to 3-2 on the season. Seton Catholic Vs Saranac Chiefs December 27th 2022

Saranac's Sebastian Dandrow Pellerin (13) with the body as he crashes the net as Seton Catholic's Sam Dejordy (15) tries to block his way there. It would be the opening game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Saranac Chiefs would match up with the Seton Catholic NYSPHSAA Section VII action. The game would start off very well for the Chiefs as they would shut out the Knights in the opening quarter and have an 11-0 lead. In the second quarter, the Knights would get on the board and do their best to get back in the game as the Chiefs would lead the quarter by a slim 14-11 margin and take a 25-11 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Knights would put out a great effort but the early whole would be too much to overcome as they would win the quarter 15-13 but still trail 38-26 as they entered the fourth quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Chiefs would keep firing to keep their big lead with a 15-13 quarter to secure the 53-39 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs go to 3-5 on the season and will take on the Crown Point Panthers tomorrow (December 28th) for the Holiday Classic title as the Seton Catholic Knights fall to 2-4 on the season. Moriah's Rowan Swan (5) comes down the breakaway and with the finger rolls off the window for the score. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets at 1-5 would host the Moriah Vikings at 2-0 in their last game before the Christmas break and the Hornets would be looking to build off their first win of the year from over the weekend. The game would start off well for the visiting Vikings as they would have an 18-13 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would stay tight although the Vikings would win the quarter slightly at 10-8 and take a 28-21 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half it would be more of the same for the Vikings as the Hornets would do their best to stay within striking distance with a 14-9 quarter for the Vikings as they would have a 42-30 lead as they went into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the offenses would step up on both sides as the Vikings would win the quarter at 19-12 and secure the 61-42 win. In the winning effort, the Vikings would stay perfect on the season at 3-0 while the Hornets fall to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

Saranac's Korbin Cranford (11) rises up for the jumper right along the baseline for the score over Plattsburgh's Max Filosca (5) for the score. It would be the battle of the Saranac river as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs in CVAC action as both teams were looking to get their first win of the season. The first quarter would definitely be a feeling-out period as it would be locked up at eight at the end of the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Chiefs would start to find their stride as they would go on a 16-4 run for the quarter and take a 24-12 lead into the locker room. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would try their best to get back in the game with a run of their own in the quarter with a 15-8 quarter and trail 32-27 into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would get back on track and hold the Hornets in check with an 11-10 quarter and secure the 43-37 victory. In the winning effort, Sebastian Dandrow-Pellerin would lead the way with 11 points as the Chiefs gets their first win of the season. Beekmantown's Wyatt LaBorde (11) with the tight full-court defense on Plattsburgh's Max Filosca (5) as he goes for the strip to keep the pressure on. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on crosstown rival the Beekmantown Eagles to get the home portion of their 2022-23 season underway and would like to right the ship as they lose the first couple on the road to start the season as for the Eagles they would come in 1-0. The game would start off tight as the Eagles would have a slim 16-12 lead after the game's first eight minutes. In the second quarter, the game would stay tight and the Hornets would fight to stay in the game as the Eagles would win the quarter 16-14 and take a 32-26 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles came out firing and it looked like the Hornets were having issues getting the game going again as the Eagles would win the third 20-12 and take the 52-38 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would stay on the gas and win the quarter 16-9 to secure the 68-47 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles will go to 2-0 while the Hornets fall to 0-3 and both teams are back in action next week. Gallery

The Ichabod Crane Riders are awarded the 2022 NYSPHSAA Class B Northern Regional champions. It would be the last game of the 2022 NYSPHSAA Northern Regionals finals from Clinton Community College and it would feature the #8 Ichabod Crane Riders and the Plattsburgh Hornets in boy's class b action. The game would start off good for the Riders as they would streak out to a 20-6 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same for the Riders as they would have a 17-6 quarter and take a 37-12 lead into the break. When they came back for the second half the Hornets still would have no answer for the Riders as they would get outscored 38-19 and fall to the Riders 75-31, In the winning effort the #8 Ichabod Crane Riders would punch their ticket to Glens Falls and the NYSPHSAA Class B Boy's Basketball final four and the Plattsburgh Hornets season would come to an end at a mark of 16-5. The Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville Wolves have crowned the NYSPHSAA Class D Boy's Basketball Northern Regional champions. It would be the 2022 NYSPHSAA Class D Boy's Basketball Northern Regional Finals and it would feature #13 Seton Catholic Knights and #15 Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville Wolves. It would be a tight game through the first quarter but the Wolves would take a 17-14 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Wolves would start to take control of the game as they had a 15-5 quarter and take a 32-19 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half and third quarter the Knights would step up their defense and have a 12-8 quarter but would still trail in the game 40-31. In the fourth quarter, both teams would bring their offense as they would go for the knockout punches and the Wolves would get the 17-16 quarter to secure the 57-46. In the winning effort the Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville Wolves would punch their ticket to the NYSPHSAA Class D Boy's Basketball final four at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls and the Seton Catholic Knights season comes to end at 16-8. #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #2 Plattsburgh Hornets March 5th 2022

The Plattsburgh Hornets have been crowned the 2022 Section VII Class B Champions at Clinton Community College. It would be the last Section VII championship of the weekend as the upset-minded #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would do battle with the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets. The Cinderella season would like would continue for the Cougars as they would have the 15-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets offense would come alive with an 18-10 quarter and have a 29-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the offense would stay hot as they would put together a 20-11 quarter and take the 49-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the final touches on the game with a 16-8 quarter and secure the 66-44 victory and the 2022 Section VII Class B championship. With the win, the Plattsburgh Hornets will enter the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament and will advance to the quarterfinals on March 12th against the winner of the sections x and ii winners. With the loss, the dream season for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars comes to an end at 9-14. Gallery
