Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Saranac Lake Placid Red May 6th 2019

The Plattsburgh Hornets pose for there team photo as they get there first win in league. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Placid Red Storm in Section X Boys Lacrosse. The teams would traded goals in the first quarter and be tied at 2. In the second quarter the Horners would win the quarter 2-1 and have a 5-3 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Hornets defense would clap down and not allow a goal and the Hornets would get four goals for the 9-3 victory. In the winning effort the Hornets would get there first ever Section X win and go to 2-9 on the season. Gallery

Dirtcar Sportsman Modified North Region Presented by Casella Waste Management - May 4th 2019

Travis Bruno (33R) and Adam Pierson (15) battle for the win in the late stages of the Dirtcar Sportsman Modified North Region 50. It would be week 2 at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway and the Dirtcar Sportsman Modified North Region would be in town along with the 358 Modifieds, Pro Stock, Super Stock, and Strictly Stock all presented by Casella Waste Management with 110 cars in the pits. The first feature out for the night would be the Pro Stocks and would see Marc Lalonde get out to a big lead in the 25 lap feature although C.D. Beauchamp would be charging fast at end and come a care length short as Marc Lalonde would win the caution free feature. Next up would be the Dirtcar Sportsman Modified North Region race and with Shane Pecor starting on the pole the teams knew they needed to bring there a game and it was evident the first part of the race. Although he would challenges throughout the night from Travis Bruno, Connor Cleveland and Adam Pierson. On a restart during the second half of the race Travis Bruno would get out front and fend off all comers and get the win and the thousand dollar check. Next up would be 358 Modifieds and that would be another hard fought race between Mario Claire, Steve Bernier, Danny Gagne and Luke Whittaker. Luke Whittaker would take his hard charging car from a 16th starting spot up to the lead and get the feature win. Then we would have the Super Stock division and would be a battle up front for most of the race between Brent Jarvis and Jim McKiernan with the win going to McKiernan for the second week in a row. To end off the night it would be the Chris Frennier Motorsports Strictly Stock and it would be a battle of endurance as they started with eight cars and would finish with four with the win going to Josh LaPorte on late race pass of Caleb Tourville. We will be back in action next week at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway with the 358 Modified, Sportsman Modified, Novice Sportsman Modified, Super Stock, and Strictly Stock as part of Fire and EMS night. 66th Season Opener Presented by Harmony Golf Course - April 27th 2019

C.D. Beauchamp (88) edges out Jocelyn Roy (48) at the finish by a car length to take the first ever weekly pro stock win at plattsburgh airborne speedway. It would be 66th season opener at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway presented by Harmony Golf Course and there would be 85 cars in the pits over 6 divisions ready to do battle and get that season opening win. The main event of the evening would be the 50 lap 2k to win 358 Modified race and it would see a showdown between Stephen Bernier and Lance Willix who would be attached to each other for most of race. At one point where Stephen Bernier slammed it off the front stretch wall and got airborne and would get eventual win. In the Sportsman Modified 2017 season champion Connor Cleveland would return and show why he was championing leading wire to wire for the win. In the first weekly race for the Pro Stock division C.D. Beauchamp would still be the one winner the Pro Stock class has every seen at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway but that wasn't without challenge from Jocelyn Roy coming down the stretch. In the Super Stock class it would be a showdown between Jim Mckiernan, Brent Jarvis and Michael Wright with the eventual win going to Jim McKiernan. As for the Novice Sportsman it would be Lee Barcomb with the wire to wire win and in the Strictly Stock Matt Leonard would do the same to finish off the season openning weekend. Gallery Video DVD

Plattsburgh State's Robert Braceland (2) goes head to head with the defender as hits to the net. The Plattsburgh Cardinals would meet up with the Middlebury Panthers in a non conference tilt at the field house. The game would start of go for the Cardinals as it would tied at three after the first quarter with goals from Justin Wise, Kevin Litchauer and Jake Carroll. Although the remainder of the game would be all Panthers as the Cardinals would get outscored 18-2 with the two goals from Zach Gill and Connor Wolff. In the losing effort Joe Falco would make 17 saves as the Cardinals go to 6-7 on the season. Gallery

Super Dirtcar Series - Thunder in the Thousand Island - April 13th 2019

Matt Shepherd (9s) and Billy Dunn (49) battle for the lead off the restart side by side through turn 1. It would be the opener of the Super Dirtcar Series and they would return to the Can-Am Speedway for the first time in ten years. It would be the Thunder in the Thousand Island with 41 cars showing up for the Super Dirt Week Qualifier. Everyone's emotions were up for the season opener and it would be evident in the feature race as 31 cars would start and only 16 would finish do to multipile wrecks throughout the race cuasing major damage to many cars ending there night early. Although when the dust settled Matt Shepherd would be the winner of the 10 thousand dollars and the all important automatic qualifying spot for Dirtweek in October. Shepherd's major challenge on the day would come from Billy Dunn and Mat Williamson but they were only able to hang with him for a few laps off the restarts and then Sheppard would slowly just pull away. Section X Boys Lacrosse - April 10th 2019

Plattsburgh's Joey Jamison (26) with the kick save on the low shot to do his best to keep the team in the game early. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Canton Golden Bears in section x boys lacrosse action. The game would not start good for the Hornets as they would be down 3-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter they would be outscored 2-1 with the goal from Joshua Laravia and be down 5-1 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the game would only get worse as they would be outscored 8-0 and fall 13-1 to the Canton Golden Bears. In the lose the Hornets fall to 0-3 on the season and there next game is on the road against the Potsdam Sandstoners. Gallery

Adirondack Thunder Vs Worcester Railers - April 7th 2019

Adirondack's Matt Salhany (2) with the wrister that slides past by Worcester's Mitch Gilam (35) for the go ahead goal. The Adirondack Thunder would host the Worcester Railers in the season finale of the East Coast Hockey League. The Thunder would get the first goal of the game halfway through the first period on the goal by John Edwards. The game would stay there til the 2:35 of mark of the second when the Railers would tie the game at one and then eventually take the 2-1 lead at 7:25 of the period. The Thunder come right back and tie the game up a minute later and John Edwards gets his second goal of the game. The Railers would not give up and tie the game back up halfway through the period at 3-2 and take that into the third period. The Thunder would tie the game up at three just three minutes into the third period on the James Henry goal. Then just 90 seconds later Matt Salhany would score to give the Thunder the 4-3 lead. The lead would last til the last 90 seconds when the Railers would score with the extra man to force overtime. In the overtime it would not be the Thunders game as Railers would score two minutes in as the Thunder would fall 4-3 in overtime. In the losing effort the Thunder would lock up the second seed in the ECHL playoffs and host the Manchester Monarchs. Gallery.

Monster Spectacular 25 - April 6th 2019

Overkill Evolition and Mike Vaters II with some great two wheel skill on the stoppie that he road for like half the floor. It would be the annually Monster Spectacular from the Olympic Stadium in Montreal with 14 trucks in attendance Wadded Up, Bucking Bronco, Avenger, Brutus, Rage, Axe, War Wizard, Anger Management, Rat Nasty, Loud and Dirty, Overkill Evolution, Black Stallion, Backdraft, and Muddy Girl in front of nearly 30 thousand people. The night would start off with the two wheel skills contest and when it was all said down the winner was Overkill Evolution. Then it was on to racing with the 14 truck single elimination bracket and when it was brought down to finals it would be Overkill Evolution over Backdraft after Backdraft had upset Avenger in the Quarterfinals. Then it would be the ever popular freestyle and the top runs of the night would be War Wizard with the big air performance and Overkill Evolution with the all around lets just tear the truck down. When it was all said and done Overkill Evolution would get the win for the clean sweep on the night.Gallery
