Plattsburgh North Stars at Massena Sliver & Black July 10th 2010

Plattsburgh North Stars Donny Coolidge (11) & Shane Racette (38) break up the pass and Shane Racette ends up with the interception. The Plattsburgh would off their season in Massena against the Sliver & Black with a giddy 27-21 win. The North Stars would get on the board first on a touchdown pass to Chris Fish for the 7-0 lead. Then on the next Massena Donny Coolidge would intercept the pass for a pick 6 and take a 13-0 lead after the first. In the second quarter JD Moore would complete his second touchdown pass of the night this time to Trevor St. Clair. The Silver & Black would get on the board as the half ended on a deep touchdown pass to give the North Stars a 21-7 lead at the break. In the 3rd quarter, Mervin Jenkins would score on a rushing touchdown. Then in the 4th quarter, the North Stars would have to hold on for the victory as turnovers would lead to, two Silver & Black touchdowns. With the win, the North Stars are 1-0 as they head home to host the Broome County Dragons on July 17th. Gallery

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres @ Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs July 3rd 2010

The Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs base runner slides in safe at the third base under the tag by Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Donny Coolidge (23). It wouldn't be enough on this day though as the Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres continued there winning ways gathering another sweep and now have won six in a row. In-game it would be tight till the 4th when it was 2-2 and scored 4 in the inning and then added another couple late for the 9-2 win. In-game two the Padres would have a slim 4-3 till the sixth inning when they scored nine runs and got the 13-3 win in 6 innings. With the win, the Padres are now 10-6 on the season as the will be taking on the Meron's Expos who are 13-3 at Saranac High School in Saranac on July 11th, While the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs fall to 1-15 and will be hosting the Plattsburgh Cardinals 11-5 at South Acres in Plattsburgh on July 11th. Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Shane Perotte (2) with the stab on the grounder down line at third base. The Padres continue there winning ways of late as they get another sweep this weekend. As they would beat the Fourth Ward Athletics 10-0, 11-1 both games would be called after five innings. With the sweep, the Padres improved to 8-6 as the will be taking on the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs next weekend in Plattsburgh at South Acres Field. While the Fourth Ward falls to 1-13 and will look to right the ship next weekend as they will host the Plattsburgh Cardinals at Lefty Wilson Field in Plattsburgh. Gallery

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres vs Plattsburgh Cardinals June 20th 2010

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Matt Rivers (88) connects on the pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning for the walk-off grand slam as the Padres beat the Plattsburgh Cardinals 4-1. In-game two of the doubleheader the Padres get 1 in the first Cardinals would come back in the second to tie it at one. Then throughout the next few innings the Padres would add to there lead to complete the sweep of the Cardinals with a 6-2 win. With the sweep, the Padres move back 500 at 6-6 as they host the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs. As the Plattsburgh Cardinals fall to 8-4 as they host the Lyon Mountain Miners in a very important doubleheader at the top of standings. Gallery

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Donny Coolidge (23) connects on the pitch and sends it out for one of many homer runs hit on the day. It wouldn't be enough on this though as the Padres would get swept in the twin bill 8-3 in game 1 and 18-13 in game 2. The opener would be tight through the first five innings until the Expos exploded for 5 runs. In-game two the slugfest was on as it the Padres would actually lead 11-10 after 2 innings the Expos would rally for the win though. The Padres fall to 4-6 heading into next weekend's twin bill at home against the Plattsburgh Cardinals. While the Expos improve to 7-3 headed into two games with the Fourth Ward A's. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Brandon St. John (17) and Shane Racette (38) light up the Southern Vermont receiver and break up the pass. The Plattsburgh North Stars started off there 20th season with a 35-12 win over the Southern Vermont Storm. It would be a close game throughout the first half as it was 16-13 at the half. The in the second half the offense would come alive and the defense would clamp down and have 19 unanswered points. The North Stars will be back in action next weekend with there last tune before the Empire League season starts at home against the Vermont Ravens. Gallery

Gordon Oil's Pat Hoey (14) with the diving stop at shortstop to keep it to just a single. Gordon Oil would use the bats in the late innings to secure the win over 20 Main 8-5 as the fought back from being down 3-1 early. As the Ausable Forks Fast Pitch Softball League concluded there first week of season in the league first year back in many years. With the win, Gordon Oil improves to 1-1 and 20 Main falls to 0-2. The first game of the twin bill would be scoreless through the first five innings till the Padre's scratch one across in the bottom of the fifth. The Timberjaxxs would answer back in the top of sixth to tie it at 1. Then at the bottom of the inning, the Padres get two-run to get the 3-1 victory. In the second game of the Padres would answer early an often as their bats came alive and would cruise to the 11-3 victory to earn the sweep and improve there record to 4-4 headed into there game next week against Lyon Mountain Miners will the Timberjaxxs fall to 1-7 as they will face off with the Athletics. Plattsburgh Cardinals (8) slides safe at third base with the steal ahead of the tag from Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Matt River (88). Both games of the doubleheader would be scoreless until the late innings. In the first game, the Cardinals would get two in the fifth and four in the sixth as they would get the 8-1 win. In the second game, the Cardinals would get three in the fifth inning to get the 3-0 win and sweep the Padres. With the sweep the Cardinals will remain on top in standings at 4-0 and the Padres will fall to 0-4. Gallery
