Plattsburgh State's Christian Difelice (23) with the crunching hit along the endboards on the Geneseo defender. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would face #2 and conference foe Gemeseo State to get the season started. The Cardinals would draw first blood on a goal by Cam Owens at 11:32 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 at 5:18 of the second period on a Pat Egan power play goal. The Cardinals would go up 3-0 a Cole Stallard goal at 15:04 of the third period. Although the Knights would not go away as they would get two goals in a thirty second span with 3:15 to remaining. Although the Cardinals would have enough to hold on for the 3-2 victory. In the winning effort Jimmy Poreda would make 38 saves as the Cardinals go to 3-0 on the season. Gallery.

#3 Norwich Cadets @ #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals - NCAA Division 3 Women's Hockey - November 7th 2018

Plattsburgh State's Annie Katonka (47)with the goal on the doorstep off the rebound. It would be a nonconference battle between the top three teams as the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Norwich Cadets. It would be a game that would live up to the hype as the game would remain scoreless until the 13:57 mark of the second period. Then at that moment, Cardinals Mackenzie Millen would score a shorthanded goal for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 4:24 mark of the third period when Cardinals Annie Katonka would score on the powerplay for the 2-0 lead. That would be all the scoring on the night as the Cardinals would hold on for the 2-0 victory. In the winning effort, Kassie Abbott would make all 32 saves for the shutout as the Cardinals go to 3-0 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class C Championship - #1 Saranac Chiefs Vs #3 Ausable Valley Patriots - October 27th 2018

Saranac's Garrett Adolfo (32) flies over and tips the ball before it gets to the Ausable wide receiver. It would be the #1 Saranac Chiefs against the #3 Ausable Valley Patriots in the Section VII Class C Championship. The game would get off to a slow start with the rain and snow as the Patriots would get the only score of the first quarter on a safety at 4:45 for the 2-0 lead. In the second quarter the Chiefs would get on the board and take the 7-2 lead on the 24 yard pass to Jacob Nolan at the 8:26 mark and hold that for the 7-2 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-2 on a 42 yard strike to Bryce Smith. In the fourth quarter the Chiefs would get another score from Jacob Nolan for the 21-2 lead. In the closing couple minutes of the game the Patriots would score on the 15 yard pass to Trevor Wilkinson. Although it would not be enough as the Saranac Chiefs get the 21-8 victory and crowned the 2018 C.V.A.C. Class C Champions and will play Ogdensburg next weekend. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Championship - #1 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels - October 26th 2018

Moriah's Maddox Blaise (4) with the catch in the end zzone for the two point conversion. It would be the traditional Class D Championship for Section VII as the #1 Moriah Vikings would meet up with the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels for the championship. The game would start of very defensive as the first score would come at 3:41 and Moriah would take the 8-0 lead on Jarin Sargents 22 yard reception. Although the Sentinels would march right down the field and score just over a minute later and make it 8-6 on the Dillon Schlogl score. Moriah would extend there lead 90 seconds later on a 76 yard catch and run by Jarin Sargent for his second score of the game and a 16-6 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the half the Vikings would score again on Jarin Sargents third touchdown of the quarter this time for 39 yards to make it 24-6. In the second half the Sentinels would try and get back in the game with a score to make it 24-14. Although it wouldn't be enough as the Vikings would get two more scores for the 36-14 victory. With the win the Moriah Vikings go to 7-2 and wait the section II team in the state playoffs while the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to an end at 2-7. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Semi-Finals - #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #3 Peru Indians - October 19th 2018

Peru's Austin Carpenter (5) slides into the end zone for the lone Indians score. It would be the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Semi-Finals featuring the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets and the #3 Peru Indians It would be a defensive battle with both teams going for every yard they can. The Indians would draw first blood on a four-yard run by Austin Carpenter to give them the 8-0 lead with 2:12 left in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would answer back on a 61-yard pass to Zach Bieber to make it an 8-7 game. Believe it or not, that would be all the scoring the game and the defenses would crank down and not allow another score the rest of the night. With the 8-7 victory, the Peru Indians would improve 5-3 as they head to the championship next week against the Beekmantown Eagles while the Plattsburgh Hornets season comes to end with a 4-4 season. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 7 - Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Saranac Chiefs - October 13th 2018

Plattsburgh's Dylan Garrant (21) with the diving catch on the comebacker for the interception. It would be the final day of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Chiefs. The Saranac Chiefs would take the 7-0 lead at the 7:15 mark of the first quarter on the 8 yard pass to Jacob Nolan. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 midway through the second quarter on the James Conway 1 yard run. The game would remain there until four minutes left in the third quarter when the Chiefs would extend it to 21-0 on the running touchdown. The Chiefs would get one more as the fourth quarter starter on the Luke Garmin 9 yard pass to secure the 28-0 victory. In the winning effort the Saranac Chiefs finish the regular season at 6-1 while the Plattsburgh Hornets finish at 4-3 on the season. Gallery

Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Ticonderoga Sentinels - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 7 - October 12th 2018

Ticonderoga's Russell Gallo II (44) with the catch and fights through the tacklers for the extra yards. It would be the final week of the regular season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and Ticonderoga Sentinels. The Sentinels would take the 7-0 lead with two minutes left in the first quarter on the quarterback sneak. The Patriots would take the 8-7 lead with 4:30 left in the first half on the Jordan Fletcher five yard run. The Patriots would take the lead in the final minute of the first half when Michael Douglas caught the 16 yard pass and make it 14-7 at the half. Ticonderoga would get with one on the 8 yard run by Bryce Gautreau and make it 14-13 game. Ausable would come right back on the next play and connect on a 90 yard pass play to Luis Perez and make it a 20-13 game. Although with four minutes left in the quarter Bryce Gautreau would score again on a 14 yard play to make it 20-19. With just under four minutes left in the game the Sentinels would take there first lead of the game at 25-20 on the Michael Dushane five yard touchdown pass. Although the Patriots would march right down the field and Luis Perez would score on a five yard touchdown pass in the final minute and secure the 26-25 victory for there first victory of the season. In the winning effort the Ausable Valley Patriots would go to 1-6 while the Ticonderoga Sentinels fall to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Saranac Chiefs Vs Peru Indians - October 6th 2018

Peru's Robert Reynolds (2) with the tip on the ball that causes it to go through the hands of Saranac's Conner Recore (80). It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and would feature the Saranac Chiefs and Peru Indians battling for second place in the conference. The game would start with the Indians taking the 7-0 lead on the Robert Reynolds 2 yard pass at 3:43 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would answer back with 3:30 left in the first quarter on the Andy LeBeau 5 yard pass. The Indians would take the lead in the second quarter on the 15 yard pass to Austin Carpenter to make it 14-7 and that is where the score remained til halftime. The Chiefs would answer back in the third quarter on a 49 yard pass to Jacob Nolan to tie the game up at 14. In the coming couple minutes of the fourth quarter the Chiefs would take the 21-14 lead on the Isaac Graham 15 yard pass. Although the Indians would answer back at 3:46 on the Alex Palmer 6 yard run to tie the game at 21. Then with 37 seconds left in the game the Chiefs would hit a 29 yard feild goal for the 24-21 lead. Then with seven seconds left in the game the Chiefs would seal the game away on a Jacob Nolan pick 6 for the 31-21 victory. In the winning effort the Saranac Chiefs go to 5-1 while the Peru Indians fall to 3-3 on the season. Gallery

Super Dirt Week XLVII - Oswego Speedway - October 7th 2018

Shane Pecore (0) looks to the high side and attempts to get by Robert Bublack (27b) as they battle for the lead. It would be the final day of Super Dirt Week XLVII and the features would be the main course of the day. In the first race of the day it would be the Chevy Performance 75 for the Sportsman Modified and the eventual winner would be Shane Pecore after a last lap pass on Robert Bublack to get the win and cash in on the 4,000 dollar paycheck. Next up on the day would be the Dirtcar Pro Stock 50. This race would also come down to a last lap pass but even better as C.D. Beauchamp would pass Chuck Dumblewski coming off turn four and cash in on the 2,000 dollar paycheck. That would only leave one race left on the day and that would be the Bill Whitaker Car and Truxs 200. It would be a great race up front all day between Jimmy Phelps and Larry Wight battling for the lead all day long. The eventual winner would be Larry Wight as Jimmy Phelps had to make late race pitstop for a tire issue. Although that would not end the race as Stewart Friesen would battle to the end to try and deny the win for Larry Wight. With the win Larry Wight would win first Super Dirt Week and cash in the 50,000. Gallery

T&B Metals and Froggers Used Auto Demolition Derby - Airborne Park Speedway - September 29th 2018

The 12 and 39 would go nose to nose for a crunching hit battling for position. It would be the T&B Metals Froggers Used Auto demolition derby at Airborne Park Speedway to finish of the season. There would be a total of 17 cars that would be compete for the 1,000 dollars. Seeing the number of cars it would be just one feature and the winner gets the cash. Gallery
