Plattsburgh Mitch Senecal (8) sneaks through for the touchdown as he loses his helmet as he goes over the goal line. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley football season as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs. The Hornets would get the first score of the game on a 2 yard run by Brady Pennington to make it 6-0 at the 7:30 mark. The Hornets would extend there lead to 12-0 a 31-yard interception return Harney just 38 seconds later. The Hornets would extend there lead to 18-0 on a 33-yard touchdown reception by Ben Champagne and take that 18-0 lead into the intermission. The game would stay there till 36 seconds of the fourth quarter when Mitch Senecal would score on the QB sneak to make it 25-0 Hornets. Then in the closing minutes of the game, Jason Moore would score on a 52-yard bomb to secure the 33-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would break a 29 game losing streak and start the season at 1-0 as the Saranac Chiefs fall to 0-1 to start the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Beekmentown Eagles December 7th 2016

Beekmantown's Evan Davison (23) with the crunching hit on Northeastern Clinton's defender (17). The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in section 7 action. The Cougars would take the 1-0 lead at the 8-minute mark of the second period on Kyle Vassar's goal. The Cougars would extend there lead to 2-0 on Adian Lvalley's goal with four minutes left in the second period. The Eagles would cut the lead in half on Christan Wawrzynski's goal in the final minute of the second period. In the final three minutes of the regulation, Matthew Maggy would get the equalizer to force overtime. In the overtime, the Cougars would get the winner in the final minute from Ian Gordon. In the winning effort for the Cougars Ryan Roberts would make 25 saves. In the losing effort, Cole Harvey would make 23 saves as the Eagles go to 0-2-1. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey Semi-Finals: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Beekmentown Eagles February 25 2016

Northeastern Clinton's Ryan Roberts (1) with the stick save on Beekmantown's Nathan Trombley (3) wrap around attempt. It would be a Section 7 Division 2 Semi-final matchup between #1 Beekmantown Eagles and #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars. The upset-minded Cougars would take the 1-0 on Landon Coulombe's goal at 1:10 of the first period. The Cougars would extend there lead to 2-0 on Dayron Roberts goal at 11:31 of the first period. The Eagles would get on the board before the end of period on Hayden King at 13:15 of the period. When the teams came back for the second period the Eagles would be looking to take control of the game and they did with scoring four goals in 2:30. The four-goal scores in the period would be Nathan Hebert, Brantley Marion, Christian Wawrzynski, and Brendan Davison to a stranglehold on the game at 5-2 Beekmantown after the second period. In the third period, the Cougars would try and mount a comeback as Ian Gordon would score at 7:38 of the period to make it 5-3. The Eagles would stomp out the as they would score at 10:45 thanks to Brantley Marion (second goal of the night ) to secure the 6-3 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles advance to the Section VIIChampionship next week against Lake Placid as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars season comes to an end. Gallery

The Chateaugay Bulldogs would make their annual appearance at the Saranac Chiefs Volleyball tournament they would be apart of 12 teams that participate from sections 7 and 10. The Bulldogs would go 5-7 on the day and finish in 6th place overall. The big winner on the day and be crowned the 2015 Saranac Tournament champions would be the Massena Red Raiders. Gallery.

It would be the opening week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and it would feature the Saranac Chiefs and Ticonderoga Sentinels. It would be a game that the Sentinels would be in control from start to finish. The Sentinels would have the 42-0 lead at the half. In the second half, the Sentinels would cruise and win the half 19-6 as the Chiefs would get a late score to avoid the shutout as the Sentinels would get the 61-6 victory. Then in the sixth, they would great three more to make it 8-6. Saranac's (8) slides in safe at third under the tag. It would be the Saranac Chiefs and the Plattsburgh Hornets in Section 7 JV baseball. It would be a day that would be in favor of the Hornets as they would take the quick 2-0 lead in the first. They would extend the lead in the third to 5-0. The in the top of the fourth Chiefs would get on the board to make it 5-1. Although at the bottom of the inning the Hornets would break the game wide open and take a 10-1 lead. Then in the sixth, the Chiefs would get a couple to try and get back in the game and make it 10-3. That's where the game would finish as the Hornets would get the 10-3 victory. In the losing effort, the Chiefs would fall to 0-2 in the early season. Gallery.
