Plattsburgh's Joey Jamison (26) with the knee save on the low shot. The Plattsburgh Hornets would have there third game of the week as they would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in section x action. It would be a rough start for the Hornets as they would be down 5-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would do there best to make it a game but would lose the quarter 6-4 and trail 11-4 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Hornets still had no answer for the Blue Devils as they would be outscored 9-1 in the half and lose the game 20-5. In the losing effort the Hornets would fall to 1-2. As they head into there game on April 10th against Canton. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets - Section X - April 2nd 2019

Plattsburgh's Dominic Allen (26) with the save right in the catchers net. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets in a non league tilt. The game would be tight for the first quarter with the teams trading goals and be tied at 1-1 scoring for the Hornets was Corbin Murray. In the second quarter the Hornets would start to pull away as they would score three times coming from Ethan Vaughn, Michael Graves and Hunter Laravia. In the second half it would be a very low scoring with the only goal coming from Plattsburgh's Michael Graves to secure the 5-1 win. In the winning effort Michael Graves scored twice as the Plattsburgh Hornets would win and get there first win in program history and go to 1-1 on the season. The Hornets return to action Thursday evening with a game against the Canton Golden Bears as they return to league action.Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Massena Red Raiders - Section X - April 1st 2019

Plattsburgh's (11) fights through the check as he turns for goal. In there first ever game as a member of Section X the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Massena Red Raiders. It would be a very low scoring game. The Red Raiders would strike in the second quarter with 2 goals and take the 2-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half there would be no change as the Red Raiders would get one more to take the 3-0 lead in the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Red Raiders qould get another and take a 4-0 lead. Then in the final couple minutes of the game it would happen the Hornets would get there first goal as a section x member from Ethan Vaughan to make it a 4-1 goal. Although the Hornets would as they would add one more with 17 seconds left in the game from Corbyn Birch. Although it would not be enough as the Plattsburgh Hornets would fall 4-2 and start there season at 0-1. Although there will be little rest for the Hornets as they are right back it tomorrow with a game against the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets. Gallery

Grand Island Vikings @ Plattsburgh Hornets - December 15th 2019

Plattsburgh's Ty Calkin (31) with the glove save in the opening period to keep the game close. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Grand Island Vikings in nonconference action. The Vikings would strike twice and quick as they would have a 209 lead in the first three minutes of the game. Although the Hornets wouldn't let that stop them as they would score at the 445 marks on the Brandt Clarke goal to make it 2-1. That would be the scoring for the first period and stay there til 3:42 mark when the Vikings would extend the lead to 3-1. The Vikings would extend there lead to 4-1 on a last-minute goal in the second period. The Hornets would do there best to bounce back with a goal by Ethan Kay in the first two minutes of the third to make it 4-2. Although that would be it as Grand Island gets an empty netter late for the 5-2 win. In the losing effort, the Hornets fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.

The game would start off good for the visiting Red Raiders as they would get the opening goal from Megs Wilmshurst 46 seconds into the game. Although the Hornets would keep the fight up and tie the game at 1 on Ada Johnson's goal at the 6:17 mark of the first period. The game would stay there til the 5:53 mark of the second period when the Red Raiders would regain the lead on the Hannah Chilton goal. Although it would be short-lived as the Hornets would tie it up at 2 90 seconds later on the Avery Holland goal. Although once again the Red Raiders would get the lead back on a goal at the 6:29 mark of the third period to make it 3-2. Once again the Hornets would tie the game up at three with 90 seconds left in regulation on the Gillan Boule goal to force. In the overtime, it would come quick as Massena Red Raiders Hannah Chilton lights the lamp 31 seconds in for the 4-3 victory. In the losing effort, the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 6-2 on the season. Plattsburgh Ethan Kay (#2) celebrates with teammates Brandt Clarke, Hayden Colburn, and Jace Lacey after scoring a powerplay goal to tie the game against Kenmore East en route to a 4-2 win for the Hornets. The Plattsburgh High School boys hockey team capitalized on power-play opportunities Saturday to earn its first win of the season, victorious by a score of 4-2 over Kenmore East at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. The Hornets faced an uphill battle after falling behind 2-0 in the first period despite outshooting the Bulldogs 13-9, but they took advantage of their opportunities to pull it back. Late in the second period, Kenmore Easts Bryan Crispin and Tyler Laporta were called for holding and slashing, respectively, to give Plattsburgh a minute-long 5-on-3 opportunity, and it only took 18 seconds for defenseman Ethan Vaughn to find the back of the net. Exactly 30 seconds after Vaughn scored the first goal of the season for the Hornets, Ethan Kay took advantage of the continuation of the powerplay with a slapshot from the point, tying the game 2-2 in the final minute of the second period. Plattsburgh continued that strong play in the third period, outshooting the Bulldogs 14-6 in the final 15 minutes and scoring twice on three power-play opportunities to earn the 4-2 win. Gallery.

It would be a game between evenly matched teams. The visiting Cadets would get the opening goal of the game from DJ Pauley at the 3:32 mark of the first period to make it 1-0 Lasalle. That would be the only goal of the first period and there would be no scoring in the second period. Then in the third period, Lasalle would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Brendan White goal at the 3:01 mark of the period. The Cadets would get an empty netter late for the 3-0 victory. In the winning effort, Lasalle's Caleb Ellis would make 22 stops for the shutout. In losing Jon Dublanyk would make 26 saves as the Hornets fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery.

Plattsburgh's Amanda Vaughan (23) on the doorstep looking for the game-winning goal. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host Saranac Lake/Lake Placid in the Upstate New York Girls Hockey League action. It would be game at would pit two evenly matched teams. As there would be no goals through the first period. The first goal of the game would eventually come at the 5:18 mark of the second period when Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Dariana Patterson would score to make it 1-0. That would almost be the lone goal of the game until Plattsburgh's McKenzie Brown would score with just over three minutes left in the game to tie it at one. The teams would end up in the overtime and in that overtime, Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Rylee Preston would get the winner on the scramble in front halfway through the game to give the 2-1 win. In the winning effort, Saranac Lake/Lake Placid would go to 1-0-1 while the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 5-1 on the season. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies in an early-season Upstate New York Hockey League game. The game would start off good as the Hornets would get the quick 1-0 lead seven seconds into the game on the Avery Holland goal. Although the Huskies would answer right back at the 35-second mark on the Whitney St. Hillaire goal to make it 1-1. The game would stay there till midway through the second period when Reylyn Giroux would score for the Hornets to make it 2-1. Then at the 4:30 mark of the third period, the Hornets would double there lead on the Gillian Boule goal to make it 3-1. Although the Huskies would answer right back seventeen seconds later on the Alyx St. Hillaire goal to make it 3-2. Then at the nine-minute mark the Hornets would regain the two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Mckenzie Brown goal. Then in the final minute, the Hornets would add an empty netter from Reylyn Giroux her second of the game to secure the 5-2 win.
