It would be a pitchers duel as the two pitchers would combine to strike out ten and give up seven hits. The lone run of the game would come in the eighth inning when David Lostagilo would hit a sacrifice fly that would score Richard Guido to give the Hawks the 1-0 lead and eventual win. Then in the second game, they would get the convincing 11-2. With the sweep, they would improve there record to 14-4. Gallery

Then the Cardinals would come from behind to game two 3-2. In the first game, it would be scoreless until the seventh inning when the Hawks would strike for five runs and hold on for the win. Then in the second game, the Cardinals would get the early 1-0 lead on Damian Tyler's Sacrifice Fly scoring Kris Cauchon. The Hawks would gain the lead 2-1 with two runs in the third inning. Where the score would remain until the eighth inning when the Cardinals would two runs. The game would be tied to Mike Vaques RBI single. Then the game-winner would come on Pedro Gonzalez's RBI single. In the winning effort, Marc Plante would go seven strong innings giving up 2 runs scattering 9 hits and striking out 3. With the split, the Cardinals improve to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the SUNYAC's. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Errol Daniyan (4) wins the opening tip of the game New Paltz's Peter Carmel (42) and the start of the SUNYAC season was underway. The defending SUNYAC champions would pick up right where they left off last season as they beat the Hawks 87-73. The Cardinals run and gone style of offense would be the key to the victory as the Hawks just couldn't keep up in the late going. Carl Munnerlun would lead the way with 29 points. Gallery

The Cardinals would open up conference play on the short end to the New Paltz Hawks 67-55. Turnovers would be the Cardinal's downfall every time they would start to get close they would lose the ball and the Wildcats would go on a run. In a doubleheader that turned into a slugfest, the Cardinals would split on the day losing the 1st game 14-9 came back though in the 2nd game to get the 15-9 win.
