Plattsburgh Cardinals base runner slides in safe at second base with the stolen base under the tag of Alex Cole (7). It was opening day in the Champlain Valley Baseball League (CVBL). As the Airborne Speedway Padres would host the Plattsburgh Cardinals in a doubleheader at Saranac High School. The opening game would be a great game that saw the Cardinals score three runs in the sixth to tie the game and forces extra innings. In the extra innings the Cardinals would get one in the top of the eighth then bottom of the innings the Padres would load the bases with no outs and then Cardinals would get a strikeout and then a double play online drive that was tattooed back up the middle as the Cardinals hold on to the 4-3 win. In the second game, the Cardinals would get one in the second as that would be all the needed as they go on for the 4-0 shut out victory. With the opening weekend in the books, the Padres fall to 0-2 on the season and the Cardinals have the early lead at 2-0.

Airborne Speedway Padres Jeffrey Norton (8) tags out the leaping attempt by the Cardinals to score in the late innings of game one. It was opening day in the Champlain Valley Baseball League (CVBL). As the Airborne Speedway Padres would host the Plattsburgh Cardinals in a doubleheader at Saranac High School. The opening game would be a great game that saw the Cardinals score three runs in the sixth to tie the game and forces extra innings. Meron's Expos Andrew Gooch (46) leaps and robs Mark Eggleston (1) of a home run. Meron's Expos would score three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to beat the Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres 3-1 in game 1. The Padres scored back in the third inning just couldn't get the one run to stand up. Game 2 of the doubleheader would go to the Expos as well cause the Padres had injured players and were not able to play the game. With the sweep, the Expos would keep there spot atop standings at 15-3. With the defeats, the Padres six-game winning streak came to end and fell to 10-8 heading into the last week of the season against the Lyon Mountain Miners. Gallery

The Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs base runner slides in safe at the third base under the tag by Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Donny Coolidge (23). It wouldn't be enough on this day though as the Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres continued there winning ways gathering another sweep and now have won six in a row. In-game it would be tight till the 4th when it was 2-2 and scored 4 in the inning and then added another couple late for the 9-2 win. In-game two the Padres would have a slim 4-3 till the sixth inning when they scored nine runs and got the 13-3 win in 6 innings. With the win, the Padres are now 10-6 on the season as the will be taking on the Meron's Expos who are 13-3 at Saranac High School in Saranac on July 11th, While the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs fall to 1-15 and will be hosting the Plattsburgh Cardinals 11-5 at South Acres in Plattsburgh on July 11th. Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Shane Perotte (2) with the stab on the grounder down line at third base. The Padres continue there winning ways of late as they get another sweep this weekend. As they would beat the Fourth Ward Athletics 10-0, 11-1 both games would be called after five innings. With the sweep, the Padres improved to 8-6 as the will be taking on the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs next weekend in Plattsburgh at South Acres Field. While the Fourth Ward falls to 1-13 and will look to right the ship next weekend as they will host the Plattsburgh Cardinals at Lefty Wilson Field in Plattsburgh. Gallery

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Matt Rivers (88) connects on the pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning for the walk-off grand slam as the Padres beat the Plattsburgh Cardinals 4-1. In-game two of the doubleheader the Padres get 1 in the first Cardinals would come back in the second to tie it at one. Then throughout the next few innings the Padres would add to there lead to complete the sweep of the Cardinals with a 6-2 win. With the sweep, the Padres move back 500 at 6-6 as they host the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs. As the Plattsburgh Cardinals fall to 8-4 as they host the Lyon Mountain Miners in a very important doubleheader at the top of standings. Gallery
