It would be a matchup inside the top of NCAA Division III Men's Hockey at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host long-time nonconference rival the #12 Norwich Cadets in front of 1300 passionate fans for the midweek tilt. The home Cardinals would waste little time in getting the opening goal of the game just 5:28 into the game on the Josh Belgrave goal. They would stay there till the 3:51 mark of the second period when the Cadets would get the equalizer from Owen Sclisizzi and tie the game at one. Then just about two minutes later the Cadets would forge ahead on the powerplay goal from Clark Kerner for the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals were not going to let the Cadets lead last long as they would score three minutes later and tie the game at two on the Trey Thomas goal. The game would stay there till the 11:33 mark of the third period when the teams would combine for four goals in just over six minutes of action scoring would be Aaron Catroon and Jake Lanyi for the Cardinals Johnny Johnson and Ben Van Waterschoot for the Cadets. From there they would have no more scoring in the final two minutes of regulation and the five minutes of three-on-three for overtime. As the Cardinals would get the tie on the night and go to 15-3-2 on the season as Elli Shiller would make 25 saves on the night.
