Queensbury's shooter with the quick flick that would beat Saranac's Shawn McLane on the glove side for the goal as Queensbury got the 6-5 win. The Saranac Spartans would travel down to Section II Friday night and play the #6 Queensbury Spartans on the pink rink night for cancer awareness in the battle of Spartans. The Saranac Spartans would wear their new black jerseys for cancer awareness while Queensbury would wear pink with a family member's name on the back that was touched by cancer in front of a packed house. The Queensbury Spartans would have a 3-1 lead after the opening 17 minutes while the lone Saranac goal came from Evan Patrie. In the second period, each team would get a pair of goals to make it a 4-2 game after the second 17 minutes. In the third period, both teams would bring the offense as there would be a combined 5 goals in the period but the Queensbury Spartans powerplay would just be too much as they get a couple on the powerplay to secure the 6-5 win. The biggest one would be right after Saranac had made it 5-4 with about six minutes left in the game. However, the Queensbury Spartans would on for the win as Eagn Breault would make 34 saves as they went to 13-3 on the season. In the losing effort, Shawn McLane would make 23 saves in a great effort as Saranac falls to 8-7-1 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow as they play another Section II team in the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks. Saranac's Landon Dyuprey (89) with the shot on net as he would core one of his two goals on the night. It would be the second meeting of the year for the Saranac Spartans and Plattsburgh Hornets at both their home rinks the Ameri-can North Sports Center in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference. It would take till the midway mark of the first period that the Saranac Spartans would take the lead on the Landon Giroux goal to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. Then with just about 3:30 left in the opening period, the Spartans would double their lead on the Landon Duprey goal and that's how the first period would end. Then again about halfway through the second period the Spartans would strike and take a 3-0 on Landon Giroux's second goal of the game. However, the underdog Hornets would not go quite down three they would score at the 1112 mark of the period on a turnover in front of the net that Ben Beizo would slam away for the goal to make it a 3-1 game. Then just about 90 seconds later the Hornets would strike again this time from Braeden Calkins to make it a one-goal game at 3-2 and that's how the second period was. In the third period, the Spartans would waste little time regaining the two-goal lead at 4-2 on the second Landon Duprey goal of the night at the 4:37 mark. Then at the ten-minute mark of the third Landon Giroux would score to complete his hat trick and make it a 5-2 game. Then with just about two minutes left in the game, Ashytn Caitlin would score on the powerplay as the Spartans would secure the 6-2 victory. In the winning effort, Mason Patnode would make 24 saves as the Spartans go to 8-6-1 on the season as they head to Lake George region for a pair of games this weekend. As for the Hornets Owen Chapple would make 40 saves on the night as they fall to 1-14 on the season and their next tilt Wednesday night against the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers at Amer-can North Sports Center. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game just 36 seconds into the game on the Edward Sweenor goal. From there they would be off to the races as they would add five more goals in the period with Novak Jarus (twice), Pryce Parker, Caden Columbus, and Zach Lapier. The Sandstoners would be able to light the lamp once with a goal by Ryan Charlebois as the period would end with the Eagles leading 6-1. In the second period, the Eagles would stay hot as they added another three goals as Zach Lapier (the second of the night), Novak Jarus (the second of the night), and Sam Bingel would score as the Eagles took the 9-1 lead. In the third period, the teams would be going through the motions as the outcome was a long time ago determined and the Sandstoners would win the period 3-2 but the Eagles would hold on for the 11-4 win Eagles go to 12-2 and the Sandstoners fall to 2-11 on the season. Saranac Spartans @ Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers January 24th 2024

Saranac's Landen Duprey (89) slides it past the stretched-out Lakers goalie for one of his two goals on the night. It would be a trip up to Lake Placid and the home of the 1980 and 1932 Winter Olympic games as the Saranac Spartans would face off with the upstart Saranac Lake Lake Placid Lakers at the Jack Shea 1932 Rink. They would be back and forth through the first ten of games and the teams would have their chances. The Spartans would finally break through with the opening goal of the game at the 10:09 period when Gabe Moore would get the Spartans on the board. The game would stay there till the second period when the Spartans would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Landen Duprey goal at the 1:23 mark. The Spartans would look to take control of the game of the game as Landen Duprey would strike again and the Spartans would take a 3-0 lead 5 minutes into the second period. The Lakers would keep fighting throughout the period and break through and break up the shutout at the 10;41 mark of the period when Kellen Duffy would score and make it a 3-1 game. The game would stay there the rest of the period and till the 9:36 mark of the third period, Adrian Barmes would score and make it a 4-1 game. Then with 2:30 left in the game, the Spartans would put the icing on the cake as Brody MaCombwe would score and the Saranac Spartans secured the 5-1 win. In the winning effort, Shawn McLane would make 23 saves as they go to 7-6-1 on the season while the Lakers fall to 3-7-1 on the season. The Saranac Spartans will be back in action at home on January 26th against the Plattsburgh Hornets while the Lakers will be playing the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. Gallery.

It would be the second straight night the Saranac Spartans would be hosting a team from central New York and this time it would be division 1 Fayetteville Manlius Hornets at the A.C. North Sports Center. The game would be very physical at times but mostly clean hitting and the first period would be very even as there would be no scoring in the opening period. The first goal could come about halfway through the second period on the rebound goal by Landen Duprey to make it a 1-0 game. That is where the game would remain until the 6:20 mark of the third period when Brody McComber would get the goals as it tipped off the goal glove and in. The Hornets would do their best to make it interesting down the stretch as they would score with just over seven minutes left in the game on the Joey Leveroni goal to make it 2-1. However, in the closing minute of the game, the Spartans would put the game away with an empty net goal to secure the 3-1 win and even up their record at 6-6-1 and will be back in action January 24th as they go on the road to take on the Saranac Lake Lake Placid Lakers January 24th. Greece Storm @ Saranac Spartans January 19th 2023

Greece's Jack Pilgrim (18) with the hard hit on Saranac's Noah Miner (9) that sends him into the boards hard. We would have a little out-of-conference action tonight at Amer-can North Sports Center as the Saranac Spartans would host the Greece Storm from section five from over by Rochester. The Storm would jump out to the 1-0 lead just a minute into the game on the Noah Guntrum goal. However, the Spartans would come right back and tie the game up at the 2:42 mark of the period on the Landen Duprey goal. The game would stay there till the last 1:30 of the period when Noah Miner would score to give the Spartans the 2-1 lead. The Spartans would come out in the second period firing and expand the lead to 3-1 on the Ashtyn Catlin goal at the 4:45 mark of the period. The Storm wouldn't go away and they would make a 3-2 game on the powerplay goal from Jack Pilgram with 2:15 left in the period. The storm would come out in a surge in the third period and tie the game at three on the Mitchell Barnes powerplay goal just 2:48 into the period. The Storm weren't done though as they would keep coming and take the 4-3 lead halfway through the period on the Alan Wilkins goal to make it 4-3 and from there defense would hold the line as the Storm would get the 4-3. In the winning effort, the Greece Storm goes to 5-6-1 and will travel to take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. As for the Spartans, they will also be 5-6-1 on the season and will have a matchup tomorrow with the Fayetteville-Manlius. Gallery

Beekmantown's Zacxh Lapier with the rebound goal as the Eagles would tie the game in the third period. It would be the rematch from last year's Section VII Boy's Hockey Championship and it would feature the #10 Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Spartans the Spartans would be looking to avenge their earlier lost to the Eagles. The game would start well for the home Eagles as they would jump to the early 1-0 lead on the Edward Sweenor goal just 1:21 into the game. However, the Spartans would come back just over three minutes later and tie the game at one on the Landon Duprey goal. Then with 2:30 left in the first period, the Spartans would take the 2-1 lead on the Ashton Caitlin goal. The game would stay there till the 4:53 mark of the second period when the Eagles would come and tie the game at two on the Sam Bingel goal. However, the Spartans would not let the game stay tied long as they would retake the lead at 3-2 on Ashton Caitllin's second goal of the night just 45 seconds later. Then Landon Duprey would score twice for the Spartans with one on the powerplay to take the 5-2 lead. However, the Eagles would not let the period end that way as they would get with 1:32 left in the period as Pryce Parker would score to make it a 5-3 game as they headed to the second intermission. In the third period though the Eagles would come out flying as they would score three times in the first ten minutes of the period all from Zach Lapier to secure the 6-5 Eagles win and go to 9-2 on the season as they head to Saranac Lake Thursday to take on the Lakers while the Spartans fall to 5-5-1 on the season as they will welcome a couple of teams from the Syracuse area to AC North over the weekend.
