Saranac's Landen Duprey (88) with the opening goal of the game to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. It would be the second straight night the Saranac Spartans would be hosting a team from central New York and this time it would be division 1 Fayetteville Manlius Hornets at the A.C. North Sports Center. The game would be very physical at times but mostly clean hitting and the first period would be very even as there would be no scoring in the opening period. The first goal could come about halfway through the second period on the rebound goal by Landen Duprey to make it a 1-0 game. That is where the game would remain until the 6:20 mark of the third period when Brody McComber would get the goals as it tipped off the goal glove and in. The Hornets would do their best to make it interesting down the stretch as they would score with just over seven minutes left in the game on the Joey Leveroni goal to make it 2-1. However, in the closing minute of the game, the Spartans would put the game away with an empty net goal to secure the 3-1 win and even up their record at 6-6-1 and will be back in action January 24th as they go on the road to take on the Saranac Lake Lake Placid Lakers January 24th.
