Plattsburgh's Jace Calkins (10) picks off the pass and rifles the shot on net and ties the game at three late in the game. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boy's hockey as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers in the next to last game of the season. The Lakers would not be the best of guests as they would get the opening goal of the game with just over a minute left in the opening period as Kellan Duffey would find the back of the net for the 1-0 Lakers lead with the lone goal of the period. Although the Hornets would fight back in the early stages of the second period and get the game tied up on the shorthanded goal by Jace Lacey 3:13 into the period. The game would stay there til the 10:10 mark of the period when Jon Kratts would score on the powerplay to retake the one-goal lead at 2-1. Then exactly three minutes later the Lakers would double up their lead at 3-1 on the Kaden Darrah goal and that's how the period won ended. The home Hornets would keep fighting through and get them back within one on the Jace Lacey goal at the 4:29 mark of the third period. The Hornets would keep coming and with just over two minutes left in the game they would get the game-tying goal off a turnover that Jade Calkins would pick off the pass and bet the Lakers netminder on the breakaway and send the game to overtime. In the overtime, the Hornet's Jace Lacey would rip the shoot on the powerplay and beat the Lakers netminder for the game-winner and the hat trick on the night as the Hornets get the 4-3 win and go to 3-13 on the season while the Lakers will finish off the regular season at 6-8. It would be a matchup between the Saranac's in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers would host the #12 Saranac Chiefs at the Saranac Lake Civic Center The Chiefs would not be a very nice guest as they would score just 49 seconds into the game and get the quick 1-0 lead. Although the Lakers would have a quick response and tie the game at one just 50 seconds later so 98 seconds into the game and we would have two goals already. Just 90 seconds later the home Lakers would take the 2-1 lead on the Carson St. Louis goal. The game would stay there til just under three minutes left in the period the Chiefs would tie the game at 2 on the Zach O'Connell goal. The game would stay there till the 6:25 mark of the second period when the Lakers would regain the one-goal lead on Carson St. Louis's second goal of the night for the 3-2 game. However, the Chiefs would not give up this fight as Landen Duprey would score with three minutes left in the second period to tie the game up once again. In the third period, the Laker's offense would come alive and they would have three unanswered goals including the hat trick goal by Carson St. Louis as the Lakers would get the 6-3 victory. It would be the rare high school boy's hockey game on a Sunday as this was a makeup game from earlier in the season. It would feature the #2 Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers. The home Eagles would strike first and quickly just 1:25 into the first period when would throw in the rebound from Sam Bingel for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there through the rest of the period and the first 3:38 of the second period when Keegin Rodier would light the lamp and make it a 2-0 game and that's where the second period would end. Then just 3:59 into the third period the Eagles would strike again this time from Caleb Peryer for the 3-0 lead. The Eagles would keep the offense going this time on the shorthand as Sam Bingel would break in on net and get the goal for the 4-0 lead. The Eagles would keep coming and score again just 2:30 later on the Cooper Burdo goal and make it a 5-0 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finish off the Lakers as Parker Broughton would snip in the top of the net to secure the 6-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 15-1-2 on the season as Austin Dosier would make 13 saves for the shutout as the Lakers fall to 5-7 on the season. It would be the second game of a weekend trip to the Capital District as the #12 Saranac Chiefs would this time travel to Saratoga Springs and take on the Saratoga Blue Streaks at the Vernon Arena. The game would be evenly matched through most of the first period until the Blue Streak would light the lamp with just over five minutes left to give the Blue Streaks the 1-0 lead. It would be more of the same throughout the second period until the Blue Streak would hit again this time on the powerplay and make it 2-0 on the Maddox Pemrick with just over two minutes left. The Blue Streaks wouldn't waste long in the third period in extending the lead to 3-0 on the Grady Frasier goal just 1:27 in. Although the Chiefs would answer right back and get on the board just 6 seconds later on the Evan Patrie goal to make it a 3-1 game. That wouldn't be the end of the Chiefs as they would make it a 3-2 game 2 minutes later on the Conor Graves goal. Although with just over 6 minutes left in the game, the Blue Streaks would regain their two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Daniel Klochaney goal and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort, the Blue Streaks go to 9-8-1 on the season. While the Saranac Chiefs fall to 10-4-2 on the season and will look to get back on the winning side next weekend when they travel to Rouses Point and take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. It would be a nonleague game inside the top 15 in the state New York State Boy's Hockey Division 2 as the #12 Saranac Chiefs would travel down to section 2 and take on the #9 Queensbury Spartans in what might be a new york state region in the state tournament in a few weeks. The teams would be very evenly matched through the first period and there would be no scoring in the first period. It would take till the 6:14 mark of the second period when Keegan Lozier would score to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there til the 9:43 mark of the period when the Spartans would score again this time from Nick Ogden to give the 2-0 lead. Then with just over five minutes left in the period, the Spartans would take control of the game on the Tanner Freeman goal as the score would go to 3-0. The Chiefs would keep fighting and get on the board just three minutes into the third period on the Evan Patrie goal to keep the game alive at 3-1. The game would stay there until the final five minutes when Chiefs' Landin Duprey would get saddled with a five-minute boarding call. On the issuing powerplay, the Spartans would light the lamp three times from Ethan Kelsey Michael Deutsch, and Tyler Dufour and take the 6-1 victory.
