The Cardinals would fight back and tie the game at one Kayla Meneghin goal. Then the Cardinals would take the 2-1 lead at the four-minute mark of third on Kayla Meneghin shorthanded goal. Then in the final minute of the game, Megan Crandell would add the empty netter to secure the 3-1 victory. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Amherst Lady Jeffs in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals would show their muscle early in the contest scoring four goals in the first period from Karen Hudson, Kayla Meneghain, Jordan Lipson and Courtney Moriarty for the 4-0 lead. In the second period, the Cardinals would add two more goals from Melissa Sheeran, and Melissa Ames for 6-0 lead. In the third period, the Cardinals would put the icing on the cake with two more goals Courtney Moriarty (second of the night), and Jordan Lipson (second of the night) to secure the 8-0 victory.
