Chateaugay's Shelby Coleman (13) goes down to field the ground ball and fires to first for the out. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would defeat the Harrisville Pirates 10-1 in the Class D Quarterfinals. The Pirates would take the early 1-0 lead. Then from the fourth inning on the Bulldogs would get ten unanswered runs. As they would get five runs in both fourth and sixth innings. In the winning effort, Courtney Boyea would go the distance striking out three and giving up four hits. With the win, the Bulldogs advance to the semi-finals against the Heuvelton Bulldogs. Gallery

In a battle for first place in the East division, the Chateaugay Bulldogs would fall 3-0 to the Colton-Pierpont Colts. The Colts would get single runs in the fourth, fifth, and six for the victory. In losing effort Courtney Boyea would go the distance giving up 5 hits and striking out nine. With the lose the Bulldogs finish there season at 10-2 in three-way tie for there first division title with Colton-Pierpont and Parishville-Hopkinton. Gallery

Malone's Devan Monnette (12) slides in to score the winning run. The Malone Huskies would defeat the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers 9-8 in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the seventh. The Flyers would open up the scoring with one in the first. Although the Huskies would come back with three in the bottom to take the 3-1 lead. The Flyers would tie it back up with one in the second and third. The Huskie bats would come alive in the fourth with four runs to take the 7-3 lead. Then in the sixth, they would get one more for the 8-3 lead. Then in the top of seventh errors would cost the Huskies as they would allow the Flyers to tie it up at eight. Then in the bottom of the inning is where the Huskies would pull it up on a walk-off single scoring Devan Monette. With the win, the Huskies improve to 13-3 on the season. Gallery

Ellenburg Center Fire Department Kid's Day May 20 2012

Ellenburg Center's Chief Stanley Russell & Mr. Coffee gave kid rides during the Ellenburg Center Fire Department's Kids Day. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would put on their first kid's day it would be a great had by all with 60 showing up. Throughout the day their kid rides on the fire truck, demonstrations with the fire hoses, fire safety in a smokehouse showing kids what to do in case of fire, along with a bouncy house and face painting. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would like to give a special thanks to all the volunteers that helped out and Dunkin Donuts for the donations of coffee and donuts. Gallery

Chateaugay's Issac Kinney (15) with the running catch in the outfield off the heel of the glove. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in east division doubleheader action. In-game one the Bulldogs would fall just short by a score of 6-5 thanks to some untimely errors down the stretch. In the second game though they would pull things together and get a convincing 11-4 wins thanks to great pitching from Garett Labare and Nick Ashline. With the split, the Bulldogs go to 5-8 on the season as they continue there to push for one of the last two playoff spots. Gallery

The Huskies would get on the broad in the second to take the 1-0 lead. The bats would come alive in the third though getting four runs. Then they would add single runs in the fourth and fifth to secure the 7-0 win. In the win Annie Sharlow would go the distance allowing only three hits and striking out seven. Chateaugay's Nick Ashline (6) with the fastball to the plate for the strikeout that looked like it was after the camera. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the St. Regis Falls Saints in Section X East Division doubleheader action. In the first game, the teams would each get three to have it tied at 3. The Bulldogs would get a single run in the fourth to make it 4-3 Bulldogs. Then in the fourth, the Bulldogs would get two more to make it 6-3. In the fifth, the Saints would do there best to make a comeback it would fall short though as they would make it 6-5 Bulldogs take game one. In the second game, the Saints would get out to the 1-0 lead after the first. Then in the second inning, the Saints would get four while the Bulldogs would get one to make it 5-1. Then in the third, the Bulldogs would get two more to make it 5-3. Then in the fourth, the comeback would be complete as they would get four more to take the 7-5 lead. Then in the fifth, they would get three more while the Saints could just mustard one as the Bulldogs would get the 10-6 win. With the win, it would give the Bulldogs a sweep on the day and give them a 4-6 record on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay's Shelby Coleman (13) slides in safe at second base with the steal under the leaping Whitney Legacy (8). The Malone Huskies would defeat the Chateaugay Bulldogs 10-7 in nonleague action. The teams would trade runs in the opening inning to keep game tied at 1. Then in the second inning the Huskies would answer with three for the 4-1 lead and one in the third for the 5-1 lead. Then in the fourth inning, the Bulldogs bats would come alive for five in the top and in the bottom, the Huskies would score two to take the lead back at 7-6. Then in the sixth the huskies would open it up at 10-6. The Bulldogs last effort would come up short though as they would get one in the seventh for the 10-7 huskies win. In the winning effort, Annie Sharlow would strike out 11 while going the complete game. The Huskies improve there record to 8-4 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 7-2. Gallery

Champlain Valley Baseball League Airborne Speedway Padres @ Plattsburgh Cardinals May 13 2012

Airborne Speedway's Shane Perotte (2) applies the tag on the cardinal runner advancing to third. The Padres would split a doubleheader with the Cardinals. The first game would be close throughout the Padres would win 6-3 in nine innings. The Cardinals would get the early 1-0 lead in the second. Then the Padres would answer back with two in the third. Then the Cardinals would get 1 in the 4th to tie the game two. The two teams would trade runs in the 5th to make it 3-3. That's where the game would remain until the ninth when the Padres would open up the offense and the cardinals would have costly miscues and score three runs and get the 6-3 victory. Getting the win for the Padres would be Frank Brogna. Gane two would go to the cardinals. With the split on the day, the Padres go to 1-3 and the Cardinals 3-1 on the season. Gallery

The Malone bats would score early and often with nine runs in the first to take the early 9-0 lead. The Huskies would answer with another four in the third for the 13-0 lead. The Panther bats would come alive in the fourth though as they would get seven runs to make it the 13-7 final. Getting the win for the Huskies would be Derek Juntunen. With the win, the Huskies keep there unbeaten season intact at 8-0 and the Panthers fall to 2-3 on the season. Gallery
