For the first time in the history of the ECAC Hockey Conference, the Women's Hockey Tournament would have its final four and championship at the famed Herb Brooks Arena, the site of the 1980 Miracle on Ice. The first semi-final game would see the #1 Yale Bulldogs take on the #4 Cornell Big Red in front of 1,800 fans, with the winner advancing to the championship the next day. The Big Red would get the opening goal of the game just 44 seconds into the game from Avi Adam for the 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs would get the tying goal at the 14:04 mark when Gracie Gilkyson would score on the power play to make it a 1-1 game. The Bulldogs would answer again just three minutes later, from Emma McGowan, to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 lead, and that's where the first period would end. The Bulldogs would stay on fire as they returned for the second period when Molly Boyle would strike just 2:47 into the second period to give them the 3-1 lead. Then at the 8:55 mark of the period, the Bulldogs would extend their lead to 4-1 when Carina DiAntonio would score. The Big Red would finally have an answer just 1:33 into the third period when Delaney Fleming would light the lamp and make it a 4-2 game. The Bulldogs would regain their three-goal lead when Stephanie Stainton would score on the short-handed to make it a 5-2ThenTh, en at the 14:55 mark of the thirperiodri, Carina DiAntonio would get her second goal of thgamega, this time on an empty-netter, to make it 6-, and then,e n with just seconds left in the gam, Avery Peters would score to secure the 7-2 victory. In the Bulldogs' winning effort, Samson Frey made 26 saves as they went to 25-8 and advanced to the championship game. It would be the 2025 ECAC Hockey Men's Hockey Championship from the famed Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, and it would feature the #2 Clarkson Golden Knights going against the #6 Cornell Big Red, who are looking for back-to-back Whitelaw Cups in front of 6000 fans. The Big Red would get the game's first goal at just 5:11 when Ondrej Psenicka beat the netminder for the 1-0 lead as the Big Red looked to respond. Then it would be just 1:52 later when the Big Red would extend their lead to 2-0 when Nick Desantis would score his eighth of the season, and that's where the first period would end. The game would stay there till the 13:23 mark of the second period when the Golden Knights would make it a one-goal game at 2-1 on Erik Bargholtz's sixth goal of the season, and that's where the period would end. In the third period, the game would go back and forth with both teams having their chances to get one, including the tying goal by the Knights. Although the only goal of the period would be the empty netter by Ryan Walsh to seal the deal with 1:49 left in the game to give the Cornell Big Red their second straight title at 3-1 and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. Quinnipac's Chris Pelosi (28) gets the goal that he roofs to give the Bobcats the 2-1 lead late in the third period. The ECAC Hockey would make their annual return to Lake Placid and the home of Miracles for their final four, and their first game would see the #1 Quinnipac Bobcats and the #6 Cornell Big Red battle for a spot in the championship game Saturday evening in front of 5300 fans. The Big Red would start the scoring in the first period when Jonathan Castagna would strike on the powerplay for his fifth goal of the season to give them the 1-0 lead with just 4 seconds left in the first period. In the second period, the Bobcats would answer back at the 14:09 mark when Andon Cerbone would score his 15th of the season and tie the game at one, and that's how the game would go to the third period. In the third period, the Bobcats would get their first lead at 14:42 when Chris Pelosi scored. Then with the Big Red down a man and pulling the goalie to even it back up, Kyler Kovich would score for his fifth goal of the season to send the game to overtime. In overtime, the Bobcats would take a slashing penalty, and Tim Reggo would rifle it past the goaltender for the game winner at the 14:39 mark of the overtime and advance to the finals with a 3-2 victory to take on the winner of Clarkson and Dartmouth in the other semi-finals. In the winning effort for the Big Red, Ian Shane would make 22 saves in the afternoon as they go to 17-10-6 in the season. St. Lawerence's Cameron Buhl (21) beats Cornell's Ian Shane (30) glove side for the goal to make it a 2-1 game early in the third period. It would be championship time in Lake Placid, NY, and the famed Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4,912 fans to settle the ECAC Hockey Conference champion and it would feature the #2 Cornell Big Red going after their first title since 2010. The #7 St Lawerence Saints are going after their first title since 2001 and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Big Red would get the opening answer of the game at the 6:15 mark of the first period on Jonathan Castagna's tenth goal of the season for the 1-0 Big Red lead. The game would stay there till the 5:13 mark of the second period when the Big Red and Jonathan Castagna would strike again for a 2-0 lead and that is how the second period would end. The Saints not wanting their Cinderella run to end would come out firing in the third period and cut the lead to 1 on the Cameron Buhl goal only his 4th of the season at the 4:15 mark. Coming down the streak the Saints would keep fighting for that equalizer and have the chance to tie the game. Although with the extra attacker on the ice, the Big Red would seal the game with the Jack O'Leary empty net goal to give the Big Red the 3-1 win and their first championship in 14 years. In the winning effort of the Big Red, Ian Shane would make 31 saves as the Cornell Big Red advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Cornell's Kyle Penney (22) puts the puck five holes on Dartmouth's Connor Black for the tying goal in the third period. It would be the second game from the ECAC Championships on the semi-final Friday as the #2 Cornell Big Red would take on the #4 Dartmouth Big Green at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4,015 fans for the right to go the championship tomorrow. The Big Green would get the lone goal of the first period from Sean Chisholm for his eighth of the season to give the Big Green the 1-0 lead at the 15:02 mark of the period. The Big Red would come out hot in the second period though and would fight back and tie the game at one on the Ondrej Psenicka goal at the 4:15 mark. The game would only be tied short time though as Dartmouth would regain the lead at 2-1 a minute later on the John Fusco goal for his 6th of the season. Then at the 12:18 mark of the period, the Big Green would expand their lead to 3-1 on the powerplay goal from John Fusco for his second of the game and taking control of the game. The game would stay there till the third period and in the third period, the Big Red would answer quick just 43 seconds in on the powerplay goal from Dalton Bancroft his 12th of the season to make it a 3-2 game. Then at the 8:32 mark of the period, the Big Red would tie the game at three on the Kyle Penney goal his ninth of the season. Just 50 seconds later the Big Red would come back and take the 4-3 lead on the Ryan Walsh goal his 12th of the season. Then in the game's closing minutes, the Big Redw would add a coupleempty net goals from Nick Desantis to secure the Big Red's 6-3 victory. In the winning effort for the Big Red, Ian Shane would make 27 saves as they went on to win the white claw title for the first time since 2010 as they will bottle the St Lawerence Saints.
