The Cornell Big Red would be crowned the 2025 ECAC Hockey Men's Hockey champions for the second straight season with their 3-1 win over the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would be the 2025 ECAC Hockey Men's Hockey Championship from the famed Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, and it would feature the #2 Clarkson Golden Knights going against the #6 Cornell Big Red, who are looking for back-to-back Whitelaw Cups in front of 6000 fans. The Big Red would get the game's first goal at just 5:11 when Ondrej Psenicka beat the netminder for the 1-0 lead as the Big Red looked to respond. Then it would be just 1:52 later when the Big Red would extend their lead to 2-0 when Nick Desantis would score his eighth of the season, and that's where the first period would end. The game would stay there till the 13:23 mark of the second period when the Golden Knights would make it a one-goal game at 2-1 on Erik Bargholtz's sixth goal of the season, and that's where the period would end. In the third period, the game would go back and forth with both teams having their chances to get one, including the tying goal by the Knights. Although the only goal of the period would be the empty netter by Ryan Walsh to seal the deal with 1:49 left in the game to give the Cornell Big Red their second straight title at 3-1 and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
