It would be the 2025 ECAC Hockey Men's Hockey Championship from the famed Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, and it would feature the #2 Clarkson Golden Knights going against the #6 Cornell Big Red, who are looking for back-to-back Whitelaw Cups in front of 6000 fans. The Big Red would get the game's first goal at just 5:11 when Ondrej Psenicka beat the netminder for the 1-0 lead as the Big Red looked to respond. Then it would be just 1:52 later when the Big Red would extend their lead to 2-0 when Nick Desantis would score his eighth of the season, and that's where the first period would end. The game would stay there till the 13:23 mark of the second period when the Golden Knights would make it a one-goal game at 2-1 on Erik Bargholtz's sixth goal of the season, and that's where the period would end. In the third period, the game would go back and forth with both teams having their chances to get one, including the tying goal by the Knights. Although the only goal of the period would be the empty netter by Ryan Walsh to seal the deal with 1:49 left in the game to give the Cornell Big Red their second straight title at 3-1 and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. ECAC Tournament Semi-Finals: #2 Clarkson Golden Knights Vs #5 Dartmouth Big Green March 21st 2025

Clarkson's Ty Brassington (44) and Dartmouth's Cam Macdonald (15) have a meeting of the minds as they go after the loose puck at the blueline by the benches. It would be the second semi-final game of the day from the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY, as it would be a part of the championship weekend in front of 5300 fans. It would be tight through the first period as both teams would have chances, but no one could light the lamp, and there would be no score after the first period. The Golden Knights would get the game's opening goal at the 1:04 mark of the second period when Ryan Bottrill would score for his eighth goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. The Golden Knights would be able to double up their lead at 2-0 when Tristan Sarsland would score just over 4 minutes later for his eighth of the season, and that's where the second period would end at 2-0, Clarkson. When the teams returned for the third period, the Golden Knights would extend their lead to 3-0 just 4:54 into the period when Trey Taylor would score his 9th of the season. The Big Green would keep coming and get on the board with 4:28 left in the game when John Fusco scored his 11th of the season to make it interesting down the stretch. However, the Golden Knights would put the icing on the cake with 1:50 left in the game when Ayrton Martino would get his 25th of the season to secure the 4-1 win for the Golden Knights. In the winning effort for the Golden Knights, Ethan Langenegger would make 25 saves as they go to 24-11-3 on the season and advance to the ECAC Hockey Championship against the Cornell Big Red tomorrow. The ECAC Hockey would make their annual return to Lake Placid and the home of Miracles for their final four, and their first game would see the #1 Quinnipac Bobcats and the #6 Cornell Big Red battle for a spot in the championship game Saturday evening in front of 5300 fans. The Big Red would start the scoring in the first period when Jonathan Castagna would strike on the powerplay for his fifth goal of the season to give them the 1-0 lead with just 4 seconds left in the first period. In the second period, the Bobcats would answer back at the 14:09 mark when Andon Cerbone would score his 15th of the season and tie the game at one, and that's how the game would go to the third period. In the third period, the Bobcats would get their first lead at 14:42 when Chris Pelosi scored. Then with the Big Red down a man and pulling the goalie to even it back up, Kyler Kovich would score for his fifth goal of the season to send the game to overtime. In overtime, the Bobcats would take a slashing penalty, and Tim Reggo would rifle it past the goaltender for the game winner at the 14:39 mark of the overtime and advance to the finals with a 3-2 victory to take on the winner of Clarkson and Dartmouth in the other semi-finals. In the winning effort for the Big Red, Ian Shane would make 22 saves in the afternoon as they go to 17-10-6 in the season. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrate as they get the 5-3 come-from-behind victory in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals. It would be time for the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Playoffs from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #5 Potsdam State Bears with a win advancing you to the semi-finals. The upset-minded Bears would get the game's opening goal at the 6:33 mark of the first period, while Jack Loran would get the goal at the 6:33 mark of the first period. The Bears would keep coming and expand their lead to 2-0 at the 11:56 mark of the period when Jeremy Quensel would score. Then, with just over a minute left in the period, the Bears would expand their lead to 3-0 when Rocco Seery would score, and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Cardinals would finally get on the board at the 5:30 mark when Lonan Bulger would score on the power play and make it a 3-1 game. That's where the second period would end. The Cardinals could cut the deficit to 1 at 3-2 just 4:52 into the third period when Brody Spencer Ha would score. Then, just about three minutes later, the Cardinals would return and tie the game at three on Lonan Bulger's second goal. Then, with just under six minutes left in the game, the Cardinals would get the lead on Patrick Cole's tip goal and take the 4-3 lead. Then, with 50 seconds left in the game, the Cardinals would get the empty-netter from Jake Sacratini to secure the 5-3 victory. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Jacob Hearne would make two saves on the night as they go to 15-10-1 on the season and will take on the #1 Cortland State Red Dragons in the semi-finals. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Fredonia State Blue Devils as they battle it out to get a playoff spot in the SUNYAC Tournament in front of 1200 fans. The road Blue Devils would look to spoil the Cardinal's chances at the playoffs as they would get the game's opening goal at the 9:17 mark of the first period when Sam Chrenka would score to make it 1-0. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game up at the 12:33 mark of the period when Kevin Weaver Vitale would find the back of the net for the powerplay goal, and the first period would end tied at one. The Blue Devils would retake the lead at the 11:14 mark of the second period when Gavin Bloder would find the net and give them the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep coming and tie the game again with 40 seconds left in the period on Tyler Ramm's goal, and the teams would go into the break tied at two. Then, the Blue Devils would regain the lead for the third time. Gavin Bloder would score at the 4:55 mark of the period on the power play to make it a 3-2 game. The Cardinals would answer back, though, in the tenth minute of the period when they would score twice from Blake Hall and Tyler Ramm to give them the 4-3 lead, and from there, they would have the shutdown defense to secure the 4-3 and clinch a spot in the playoffs. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Jacob Hearne would make 32 saves as they go to 13-10-1 on the season and head into their season finale against the Potsdam State Bears. Plattsburgh State's Jacob Hearne (31) made the glove save as part of a 24-save night for the 5-4 win in overtime. It would be the start of the last regular season weekend from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Buffalo State Bengals as they battle to get in the playoffs in front of 1200 fans. The game would start well for the home Cardinals as they would open scoring with 2:45 left in the first period on the power play goal from Patrick Cole for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would keep the scoring going early in the second when Brannon Butler would score to make it 2-0 just 1:45 into the second period. Then, at the 9:15 mark of the period, the Cardinals would make it a 3-0 game on the Tyler Ramm powerplay. The Bengals could cut the difference to 3-1 at the 14:40 mark of the period when Jason Kwestel would score on the powerplay. The Bengals would make it a 3-2 game with 8 seconds left in the period on the Connor Bizal goal. The game would stay there till the 18:17 mark of the third period when the Cardinals would make it 4-2 on the Jake Lanyi empty-net goal, and we thought the game was over. However, that would be the calm before the storm as the Bengals would score 2 with the extra attacker from Tyler Penree and Austin Micale to force overtime tied at four. In the overtime frame, the Cardinals would get the winner with 51 seconds left as Kevin Weaver Vitale would beat the goalie on the top shelf and get the 5-4 win. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, they would go to 12-10-1 in the season, as Jacob Hearne would make 24 saves, and they would take on Fredonia State in the last home game of the season. It would be a matchup in the New England Hockey Conference from Weibel Arena as part of the Skidmore Thoroughbreds alum weekend, as they would host the Albertus Magnus Falcons in front of just over 300 fans. The game would remain scoreless till the 12:43 mark of the first period when the Thoroughbreds would score twice in 47 seconds on goals from Stephen Perez and Coleman Jenkins for the 2-0 lead. The Thoroughbreds would add their third goal of the period when Ethan Heidepriem scored at the 17:59 mark to make it a 3-0 game, and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Thoroughbreds would extend their lead to 4-0 at the 14:27 mark when Evan Brown would light the lamp. The Falcons wouldn't be outdone, though, as they would get on the board 26 seconds later to make it a 4-1 game on the Paden Hicks powerplay goal, and that's how the scoring would end for the second period. In the third period, defense would be the game's name as neither team could find the net, and the Thoroughbreds would hold on for the 4-1 win. In the winning effort for the Thoroughbreds, they would go to 11-10 on the season, and Joshua Seeley would make 34 saves on the afternoon as they head to the road and take on Salve Regina. It would be the classic rivalry from the sold-out Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action. The game would start well for the home Cardinals as they would get the game's opening goal just 3:51 in on the power play goal from Tyler Ramm to make it a 1-0 Cardinals lead. The game would stay there till there was 2:38 left in the first period when Shane Bondy would make it a 2-0 game on the powerplay goal, and that's where the first period would end. When the teams returned for the second period, the Lakers would get on the board at 6:38, and Matt McQuade scored at 6:38. The Lakers would come back and tie the game at two on the powerplay goal from Brandon Cohen at the 14:03 mark of the period, and that's where the second period would end. The Cardinals would come out on fire and retake the lead at 3-2 on Tyler Ramm's second goal of the game on the powerplay at the 2:57 mark. The lead would be short-lived as the Lakers would tie the game back up at three on the Daniel Colabufo goal at 4:23. Then, just 91 seconds later, the Lakers would regain their lead at 4-3 on Brandon Cohen's second goal of the game. There would be no scoring in the first period as defense would be the name of the game, as the teams would combine for 15 shots in the period. In the second period, the Kangaroos would break through and get the opening goal at the 6:15 mark,ewhichewascKinnon would score and anchor 1-0. The Kangaroos would keep coming, adding a shorthanded goal at the 11:19 mark of the period when Jackson Drysdale would light the lamp and make it a 2-0 game. In the third period, the Cardinals would have their best offensive period of the night as they would have nine shots on the net and pull the goalie with about three minutes left in the net, but they would not be able to find the back of the net on this day. The Canton Kangaroos would pull off the 2-0 upset on the evening as Nate Hopkins would make 23 saves in a shutout victory as they go to 6-12-1 on the season and take on neighbor the Potsdam State Bears tomorrow night. With the crunching hit along the boards, Plattsburgh State's Brandon Butler (23) sends Potsdam State's Mason Hohen (7) into the air along the board in the corner. It would be the return of the battle of the North Country as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host their travel partners, the Potsdam State Bears, from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1,000 fans on poster night with the rare midweek game. The upset-minded Bears would get the game's opening goal on the powerplay from Eli Douhart-Wood at the 10:45 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would keep coming and equalize the game at one with the Kevin Weaver Vitale goal at the 17:16 mark of the period. Then, with just 25 seconds left in the period, the Cardinals would take the 2-1 lead on the goal from Jake Sacratini, and that's how they would head to the intermission. The game would stay until the 12:09 mark of the second period when Brody Spencer Ha would extend the lead to 3-1. The Bears would not be going away on this night as they would make it a one-goal game at the 17:21 mark on the Michael Campbell goal, and we would head to the second intermission with the Cardinals having the 3-2 lead. The Cardinal offense would be on fire in the third period, scoring four goals in just 8 minutes. Aaron Catron would score twice, and Patrick Cole and Jake Sacratini would score to make it a 7-2 game. The Bears would get a late goal with about two minutes left when Payton Felix would score on the powerplay, but the Cardinals would hold on for the 7-3 victory.
