Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) comes in on the breakaway and throws the puck to the top shelf for the goal as he would have a hat trick on the night. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between the host Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Chiefs for the second time this year. After there first meeting this year needed overtime the potential for another great game was there. It was looking that way for a bit until the Eagles would light the lamp for the first goal of the game from Zach Lapier at the 9:15 mark of the first period. Then just two and a half minutes later the Eagles would strike again this time from Moser for the 2-0 lead and thats where the period would end. When the second period started the Chiefs were doing there best to get back in the game and on the board although they wouldn't have an answer. Then at the 14:29 mark of the period the Eagles would extend there lead to 3-0 on Zach Lapiers second goal of the game. The third period would start off fast for the Eagles as Zach Lapier would complete the hatrick just 40 seconds in and make it a 4-0 game. Then with under three minutes left in the game the Eagles would put the finishing touches on the game with a goal by Keegan Seamone for the 5-0 win. In the winning effort Austin Dosier would make 28 saves in the shutout. Gallery

Riviers Raiders @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 15th 2022

Plattsburgh State's Luk Jiroisek (29) with the stuff in the short side as he goes by for the goal. It would be a non-conference matchup as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the brand new Riviers Raiders at the Fieldhouse on a senior night. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal at the 9:41 mark of the first period on the Christian Difelice for the 1-0 lead. Although the Raiders would fight the rest of the period and get the equalizer with four minutes left in the period from Tyler Duderstadt. The tie would be short-lived as the Cardinals regained the lead at 2-1 on the Carson Gallagher goal with 1:17 left in the period. As the second period would get underway the Raiders would actually fight and take the lead to the Milan Breczko powerplay goal. The tie would be short-lived as the Cardinals would take the lead back at 3-2 on the Jacob Modry goal 30 seconds later. The Raiders would keep fighting and tie the game again with just under five minutes left on the Jon Tavella goal/ The game would stay there until the 8:54 mark of the third period when the Raiders would get their first lead of the game on the Ryan Nolte goal at 4-4. Although the Cardinals would fight all the way to the last horn and get the tying goal with 12 seconds left on the Carson Gallaghers second of the game to force overtime. In that overtime period, the Cardinals would send the faithful home happy as Luk Jirousek would light the lamp 1:38 into the overtime for the 5-4 win. In the winning effort, the Cardinals go to 9-5-3 while the Raiders fall to 4-9-2. Gallery

Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 15th 2022

Plattsburgh's Ty Calkins (31) with the shoulder save on Saranac's Ethan Barnes (10) as he took the quick wrister as he broke down the ice. It would be the second time in three days the Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Chiefs would meet up at the Amer-can North Arena. The Hornets would be looking for revenge from the last game they lost in overtime and would take the quick 1-0 lead on the Jace Lacey goal 1:57 into the game. Although the Chiefs would fight back and get the equalizer 8:10 into the period on the Ethan Barnes goal. Then with 33 seconds left in the period, the Chiefs would take the 2-1 lead on the Landon Giroux goal. The Hornets would keep fighting and eventually tie the game back up at two on Jace Lacey's second goal of the game at the 9:26 mark. The Hornets wouldn't quite till they got the lead and they would on the powerplay goal by Jace Lacey for the hat trick with just under five minutes left in the period. From there the teams would play even the rest of the night until the Hornets in the last minute of the game put in the empty netter from Hayden Colburn for the 4-2 victory. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Trey Thomas (3) with the rebound that he stuffs in the back of the net to the Cardinals on the board in the third. It would be the classic rivalry revisited again as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in non-conference action. It would be a very fast-paced game that would have its moments of roughness. The teams would be even through the first period and no one would be able to light the lamp. The opening goal of the game would come at the 12:10 mark of the second period when Middlebury's Wyatt Pastor would break the seal on the powerplay for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there until the 3:03 mark of the third period when the Cardinals would tie the game at one thanks to Trey Thomas. Then just about four minutes later the Panthers would regain the lead at 2-1 thanks to the Paul Fine-Lease goal. Then at the 9:35 mark of the third Mitchell Halle with help from Jagger Benson and Pavel Kharin would tie the game at two. Although once again the Panthers would take the lead 3-2 just a minute later on Andrej Hromic's goal. But the Cardinals wouldn't go quietly into the night as they would tie the game for the third time on Trey Thomas's goal with just over five minutes left in the game. That is where the game would stay after that and overtime as the Cardinals go to 8-5-3 and the Panthers to 1-7-1 on the season. Gallery

Cortland State Red Dragons @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals Janaury 13th 2021

Plattsburgh State's Brittani Campbell (12) splits the defenders and takes flight for the layup as part of a five-point night. It would be the home opener of the 2022 portions of the season as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC action. It would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be down early and big after the first quarter 18-5 to the Red Dragons. The in the second quarter the Red Dragons would be a blur to the Cardinals with a 30-13 quarter and the Cardinals would trail 48-18 at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Red Dragons would stay hot with a 17-7 quarter and have a 65-25 lead to head into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals wouldn't give up the fight and win the quarter 23-16. Although the Red Dragons would hold on for the convincing win at 81-48. as the Cardinals go to 3-8 on the season and the Red Dragons go to 9-2 on the season. Gallery

Beekmantown's Reid Fessette (17) with the quick snapper from the face-off circle for the goal. It would be the rematch two years in the making as it would feature the Beekmantown Eagles and Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers facing again for the first time since there 2020 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference championship game. It would be a very physical game from start to finish and with that in mind, it would take till 2:15 left in the first period for the opening goal of the game from Beekmantown's Anthony Marion for the 1-0 Eagles lead. Then about halfway through the second period at the 8:34 mark, the Eagles would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Bingel goal. Just about a minute later the Lakers would get on the board and put the game back at a 1 goal game on the Hugo Hobson goal. The one goal difference would be short-lived as the Eagles would regain their 2 goal lead at 11:44 of the period on the Luke Moser goal for a 3-1 lead after the second period. Then just 1:30 into the third period the Eagles would make it 4-1 as DJ Gonyo would go coast to coast for the goal top shelf. Although the Lakers would show some life as they would light the lamp just 45 seconds later on the Noah Munn-Jennings goal to make it 4-2. The Eagles would answer back at the 6:43 mark of the period on the Reid Fessette rifle shot and take the 5-2 lead back. Then in the closing minutes of the game, the Eagles would add a shorthanded empty netter from Luke Moser his second of the night for the 6-2 win. Gallery

Peru's Isabella Sypek (5) with the contested jumper in close over Ticonderoga's Destiney Snider (22) for two points. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between the host Peru Nighthawks and the visiting Ticonderoga Sentinels. The game would start off good for the home Nighthawks as they would be doubling up the Sentinels after the first quarter at 15-6. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks would continue to pull away with a 13-3 quarter and take a 28-9 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks would keep their foot on the gas with a 15-6 quarter to extend their lead to 43-15 as they head into the fourth. In that fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would lighten up with the outcome, not in question with a 13-10 quarter and secure the 56-25 win. Leading the way on the night would be Kortney McCarthy would be 19 points as they go to 6-3 on the season while Ticonderoga falls to 5-3 on the season. Gallery.

Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 12th 2022

Plattsburgh's Bailey Hewson (10) takes flight and lays it off the window for the score. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between the host Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Lake Red Storm. The game would get off to a fast start as the Hornets would jump out to a 21-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornet's offense would go a little quiet as the Red Storm would win the quarter 9-6 but the Hornets would have a 26-20 lead at the break. The Hornets would find their game again when they came back with a 13-9 quarter to extend their lead to 49-29 to head to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Red Storm would give it everything they had to make a come back with a 13-5 quarter but it would fall short as the Hornets would get the 54-42 win. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 4-8 while the Red Storm falls to 0-8 on the season. Gallery

Beekmantown's Nolan Latinville (19) rifles the puck past Northeastern Clinton's Peter Judkins (1) for the go-ahead goal. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference affair as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars at the Plattsburgh State Field House. The game would start off good for the home Eagles as they would get the early lead just 2:59 into the first period on the Chase Clikey goal for the 1-0 lead. The Cougars would keep crashing the net and get the equalizer from Owen Ebersol at the 9:07 mark of the period. The Eagles would be quick to strike back and regain the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the Nolan Latinville goal. Then as the horn was getting ready to sound the Eagles would get a goal from Dayton Rovers to take the 3-1 lead into the intermission. When the teams were back for the second period they both would have their chances and the physical play was there but no one would be able to light the lamp and it would remain 3-1. In the third period, the Eagles would put the icing on the cake with a goal at the 3:47 mark from Nolan Latinville to secure the 4-1 win. Leading the way for the Eagles in the win would be Nolan Latinville with 2 goals and an assist. Gallery

Keene Beavers @ Seton Catholic Knights January 10th 2022

Keene's Haylie Buysse (11) with the mid-range jumper over Seton Catholic's Abby Pearl for two points. It would be a Mountain and Valley Conference game featuring the Seton Catholic Knights and the Keene Beavers from Seton Catholic. It would be a lower scoring tight game to get started as the Knights would have a 6-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Beaver's offense would come alive for a huge quarter at 13-4 and take a 17-10 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Knights would have some fight in them and win the quarter 11-2 and retake the lead at 21-19. In the fourth quarter, the Beaver's defense would completely shut down the Knights with a 13-0 quarter and get the come from behind win at 32-21. With the win, the Beavers go to 5-1 while the Knights fall to 4-5 on the season. Gallery
