Castleton State Spartans @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals October 31st 2025
Plattsburgh State's Aaron Catron (12) with the shot from the right face-off circle that goes in to give the Cardinals the 4-1 lead. It would be the 2025-2026 season openers for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Castleton State Spartans from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1100 fans. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game at the 16:51 mark of the first period. Patrick Cole would give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Spartans would answer right back 1:10 later on a shorthanded goal by Emmett McHardy to tie the game at 1. The Cardinals would come back and retake the lead at 2-1 on the Blake Hall goal 4:06 into the second period. Then, in the closing minutes of the period, the Cardinals would add three quick ones from Gabriel Filion (twice) and Aaron Catron to give them the 5-1 lead at the end of the second period. Then, in the third period, the Cardinals would put the icing on the cake at the 13:41 mark on the power-play goal by Jake Sacratini to secure the 6-1 victory. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Dominik Bovan would make 22 saves as they went to 1-0 on the season. As for the Spartans, their goalies would combine for 19 saves as they fell to 0-1. #15 Norwich Cadets @ #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals October 31st 2025
Plattsbuergh State's Tessa Morris (24) with the wrister in front of the net for one of her two goals on the afternoon as the Cardinals win 3-0. It would be the season opener for both the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #15 Norwich Cadets, as we have a top-15 match to start the season at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena in front of just over 300 fans. There would be no scoring in the first 20 minutes of the game, but that doesn't mean the teams didn't have their chances to score. It would take until just over halfway through the second period, at the 11:32 mark, when Tessa Morris would get the opening goal of the season and give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there until the 7:37 mark of the third period, when Emily Kasprzak would score and the Cardinals would extend their lead to 2-0. Then, with just over 90 seconds left in the game, the Cardinals would add the empty-netter from Tessa Morris for her second of the game, as the Cardinals would wrap up their 3- 0 victory. In the Cardinals' effort, Chloe Lewis made 21 saves in the shutout victory as they will head to Endicott College next weekend. Ticonderoga Sentinels @ Plattsburgh Hornets October 25th 2025
Plattsburgh's Ryan Colburn (13) with the one-handed catch for one of two touchdowns on the afternoon in the 49-0 victory. It would be the last game of the regular season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Ticonderoga Sentinels in their return to 11-man football. It would only take the home Hornets 1:44 to get the opening score of the game, when George Dejesus broke it for 16 yards, giving them the 6-0 lead. Then at the 8:36 mark of the first quarter, the Hornets would extend their lead to 14-0 on Ryan Colburn's one-handed grab for the score, and that's how the first quarter would end. In the second quarter, the Hornets would stay on the pedal, and at the 2:46 mark of the quarter, they would extend their lead to 21-0 on the 38-yard strike to Will Boire. Then at the 7:49 Hotnets Ryan Colburne would get his second score of the half this time with a 225-yard run and make it 28-0 game, and that's where the first half would end. When the teams returned for the second half, the Sentinels would come out and have the defense at the top of its game, holding the Hornets to no points, and the game would still be 28-0 after the third quarter. Although in the fourth quarter the Hornets' offense would explode for three touchdowns, two from Jahvari Anderson and one from Tyler Durney, as the Hornets secured the 49-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets go into the playoffs on a two-game winning streak at 2-6 and will play the Saranac Spartans in the Section VII Class C Semifinals. Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Beekmantown Eagles October 24th 2025
Saranac Lake's David Montroy (34) walks it into the endzone for his third and game-winning score as the Red Storm take the 28-24 victory. It would be the last week of the regular season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference, and we would have the Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake Red Storm as they look to position themself for the upcoming playoffs. The home Eagles would strike first in the 1st quarter on a 38-yard pass and catch to Blake Rock for the 6-0 lead with 31 seconds left in the 1st quarter. Then, at the 4:23 mark of the season quarter, the Eagles would extend their lead to 12-0. The Red Storm would get on the board at the 10:23 mark of the 2nd quarter with a 5-yard run by David Montroy, making it 12-7. The Eagles would regain their two-score lead on the ensuing kickoff when Shamus Bilbeau would return it 74 yards for the score and take the 18-7 lead, and that's where the scoring would end for the 1st half. The Eagles would stay hot as they returned for the third quarter when Garrett Pelkey would score on 16 16-yard score and take the big 24-7 lead early in the third quarter. The Red Storm would bite back in the deficit on a 66-yard run by David Montroy to make it 24-14. The Red Storm would answer back in a big way on a 74-yard pass and catch to Scott Holcomb as they made it a three-point game at 24-21 at the 10:07 mark of the quarter. The game would stay there till the 4:16 mark of the 4th quarter when David Montroy would score his third touchdown of the night to give the Red Storm the 28-24 lead. From there, the Red Storm defense would be up to the call and hold on for the win at 28-24. In the winning effort, the Red Stom go to 5-3 on the season, as the Eagles fall to 4-, four both waiting for their opponents next weekend as the sectional playoffs begin. Gallery
Beekmantown Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets October 17th 2025
Plattsburgh's Jahvari Anderson (5) with the hard hit as Beekmantown's Garett Pelkey (81) as he received the incoming punt. It would be week #6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season, marking the battle of crosstown rivals. The Beekmantown Eagles would travel to Plattsburgh to take on the winless Hornets, as they both look prepared for the playoffs. The Hornets would get the lone score of the opening quarter on an 11-yard run by Colden Johnson to take the 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, the offense started to come alive as Beekman took the 8-7 lead on a 10-yard pass to Garrett Pelkey. The Hornets would answer right back with their own passing touchdown this time to Ryan Colburn to make it a 13-8 Hornets lead as they enter the halftime break. When the teams returned for the 2nd half, the Eagles would regain the lead right off on a 22-yard pass to Hunter Porter, and the Eagles took the 16-13 lead. The Hornets would take the lead right back a minute later on a 58-yard pass from Jahvari Anderson to regain the lead at 20-16. The Eagles would answer back with just under five minutes left in the third quarter on the 110-yard pass to Bryson Recore,24-20. The Hornets would come back again on a crazy play, whether the running back stepped out or not, before he passed it downfield to Jo Jo Wineglass, taking the 27-24 lead as they entered the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would keep coming and extend their lead to 33-24 on the 4-yard run by Degio Rios. Then, as they reached the midway mark of the quarter, the Hornets put the game away with a yard pass to Ryan Colburn for his second score of the game. The Eagles fought to the end, scoring again with 5 seconds left in the game on a 17-yard strike to Shamus Bilbeau, as the game finished 39-3 in favor of the Hornets. In the winning effort, the Hornets secured their first win of the season, improving to 1-6 as they enter the last week against Ticonderoga. As for the Beekmantown Eagles, they would fall to 4-2 on the season as they enter the last game against Saranac Lake. Gallery
Peru Nighthawks @ Northeastern Clinton Cougars October 17th 2025
The Peru Nighthawks celebrate their win and their conference title with the 3-0 win over Northeastern Clinton. It would be a battle in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boys' Soccer as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars would meet up with the Peru Nighthawks in Champlain, New York, as the conference title would be on the line. The Nighthawks would get the lone goal in the first half from Deacon Whittmarsh as they would take the 1-0 lead into the halftime. When the teams returned for the second half, the Nighhawks would stay on the gas pedal, and they would add a pair of goals from Deacon Whittmarsh and Seanan Edwards as they secured the 3-0 victory and were crowned co-champs for the regular season. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks are 12-1 on the season and will finish the season out against Saranac Lake next week. As for the Northeastern Clinton, they will finish their season next week. Hudson Valley Community College Vikings @ Clinton Community Cougars October 15th 2025
Hudson Valley's Michael Robyck (13) to give the Vikings the 1-0 lead. It would be the last game of the regular season for the Clinton Community College Cougars as they would host Hudson Valley Community College in the NJCAA Region III from the Plattsburgh State Field House. The game was tight through most of the first half until the Vikings opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Michael Robyck scored the opening goal, giving the Vikings a 1-0 lead. That's how the first half ended. The game would stay there tuntilthe 67th minute when the Vikings would extend ttheirlead 2to -0 on the Joseph Davis goal The game would stay there until the final 3 minutes of the match, when the Vikings struck twice from Camryn Curet and Eli Charlebois, securing a 4-0 victor In the winning effort for the Vikings Juan Rivas would make one save for the shutout as they go to 6-6 on the season. As for the Cougars, Parker Manor would make 15 saves as they finish out their season at 1-9-1. Gallery
Championship Weekend Day #2 @ Airborne Park Speedway September 28th 2025
Donovan Lussier (61) and Travis Bruno (33) battle for the lead in the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified 50-lap $5,000 to win race, along with the championship that would see Lussier get both of them on the night. It would be the second day of championship weekend from the Airbone Park Speedway and the last day of racing for the 2025 season, and the main event of the day would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified 50-lap event for the $5,000 to win, and it would bring out some of the best in the area with 33 cars in the pits. Other divisions racing on this last race day would be the Crown Vics, 500cc Mini Sprints, Mini Stocks for $500 to win, Pro Stocks, and 9th State Cannabias Renegades. After all the heat racing and last-chance qualifiers were done, it was on to the features for the last time. First, the second segment of the 500cc Mini Sprints would be the second segment, and the winner would be Gage Provencher. However, Scott Bachand was crowned the overall winner despite finishing third in the second segment. Then it would be the Crown Vics for the second feature of the weekend, and once again, it would be a showdown between Eric Friend and Richie Turner, with Turner getting the victory this time, as they split on the weekend. Then we would have the 9th State Cannabias Renegades for the second feature. Codey Benoit would get the lead at the start of the race. Still, teammate Billy Thwaits, along with Tylor Terry, would come up charging from the back and battle for the lead. In the end, Billy Thwaits would get the win on the night and sweep the weekend. Although with his second-place finish in the feature, Tylor Terry would be crowned the 2025 track champion. Then we would see the Pro Stocks out there for their 20-lap main event, and it would be a battle up front between Marc Lalonde and Denis Gauvrea. On this day, Lalonde would get the win in one of his last races in his long career. Then we would have the Mini Stocks in their 25-lap event for the $500 first-place check, and Kenny Tourville would take the lead off the start of the event, but it would be short-lived as CJ LaVair would pass him for the lead. Although there would be chargers coming from mid-pack, in the likes of Sebastien Beauguard, and the three would put on a great race for the crowd, but in the end, Beauguard would get the win and the $ 500 first-place check Then it would be the main event of the day and final race of the 2025 season as the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified would battle for 50 laps and the $5,000 first place check. It would be to see Michael Wright get the lead off the start of the race, although it would be short-lived as Donovan Lussier would get around him and take the lead, and there would be a battle between him and Jamy Begor for a bit as they went after the lead. Then there would be another challenger, such as Travis Brunobut. In the end, Donovan Lussier would get the win. In his winning effort, he would also be crowned the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified champion for the second straight year, beating out Travis Bruno by just 8 points in the championship. Gallery
Championship Weekend Day #1 @ Airborne Park Speedway September 27th 2025
It would be a three-way battle for the lead in the 9th State Cannabias Renegades between Billy Thwaits (30), Tyler Irwin (54), and Shawn Fountain (007) for the lead, and Thwaits would get the win on the day. It would be the start of championship weekend from the Airborne Park Speedway to finish the 2025 season and the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Hoosier Limited Sportsman Modified, 500cc Mini Sprints, Mini Stocks, 9th State Cannabias Renegades, Crown Vics, and Enduro. After all the heat racing was done, it was on to the features for the day. The first one out of the box would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified non-winners event for 25 laps. Chris Cayea would take the lead off the start and would establish a good-sized lead on the field. However, there would still be a challenge coming from the likes of Evan Roibert, and in the closing lap, he would chase him down, take the lead, and get the eventual win. Then it would be the first segment of the 500cc Mini Sprints event, and it would see Gage Provencher get the lead off the start, but Scott Bachand would challenge him in the 15-lap event, and Bachand would get the first stage win, and they would settle the overall winner on Sunday in the 15-lap segment two. Then it would be on to the Crown Vics in their 15-lap event, and it would see a great battle up front for the early point of the event between Eric Friend and Richie Turner. Friend would take control of the race when Turner would find the turn four wall, but they will be back at it again Sunday to finish off the doubleheader. Hen would have the last Hoosier Limited Sportsman Modified feature of the season for 25 laps a. Itould see Adam LaFountain get the lead off the start of race and get a huge lead going Brogan Roberts would do his best to try and make it close but just had no answer also on the day Kobe Hernandez would be crowned the 2025 Hoosier Limited Sportsman Modified track champion as he would win the title by 83 over Parker Dermody. Then the 9th State Cannabias Renegades would take center stage for their first of two features on the weekend, and Tyler Irwin would get the lead off the start of the race. Still, he would be quickly challenged by Billy Thwaits for the lead, and he would hold on to get his first win of the season and all but lock up the title for Tylor Terry. As long as he shows up on Sunday, he will be crowned the 2025 track champion. Then it would be the Mini Stocks in their 20-lap event, and Josh Laporte would take the lead at the start of the race. Still, he would have challengers coming after a few quick cautions in the race that would re-rack the field, and Ryan Senecal would get around him for the lead. Still, Senecal would have a challenge down the stretch in the likes of Speedy Bressette, but would get the win and also be crowned the 2025 Mini Stock track champion. Then, to finish off the day of racing would be the 50-lap enduro, which would see Bobby Hamel take the lead at the start and hold it until about the halfway point, when Walter Scram would pass him for the victory over Randy Martin and Beau Reeves. The 2025 racing season at the Airborne Park Speedway on Sunday, with the headline event being the 50-lap, $5,000 to win for the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified. Gallery
Canadian Big Block Series @ Airborne Park Speedway September 7th 2025
Felix Roy (91) gets around Jack Speshock (08) for the lead of the 75-lap Canadian Big Block Series event and would win the race and the championship for the series. It would be the 15th race of the 2025 season from the Airborne Park Speedway as we would start the last month of the season with a bang as the Canadian Big Block Series in there 5th season would make there first ever appeance to the track and $5,000 would be on the line for the winner and a championship as it would be there last race of the season series, Along with the Big Blocks, the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Pro Stocks, 9th State Cannabias Renegades, Crown Vics, Hoosier Limited Sportsman Modified, and Mini Stocks were all in acton. After the heat races, it would be onto the features for the night, and the first one out of the box would be the Hoosier Limited Sportsman Modified for 20 laps, and Parker Dermody would get off to the lead off the start of the race. Still, Gary English would be on the chase from his 4th place starting spot, and the two of them would duke it out for the win, and Gary English would get the win on a pass in the closing laps. Then we would have the 9th State Cannabias Renegades for 25 laps, and eleven cars would take the green, with Billy Thwaits taking the lead off the start. Still, the man who would be dominating the season would be coming as Tylor Terry would get around for the lead and claim his 9th race win of the season. Then it would be time for the big show as the Canadian Big Block Series would take the track for their 775-l75-lape event. Zero cars would take the green flag to the big payday. Jack Speshock would get the lead off the start of the race with an early challenge from Jackson Gill for the lead, and then he would start to pull away. Still, there would be a charge coming from the middle of the pack in the likes of Felix Roy and Tim Fuller, and around lap, Felix Roy would get around Speshock for the lead, and Fuller would keep coming and eventually battle Roy for the lead in the closing laps. There would be a pair of green and white checkers to finish the race, and Felix Roy would get the win over Fuller and Gill and also claim the championship in the series. Then it would be on to the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, and 27 cars would take the green in the 25-lap race. It would see Fire Swamp get the lead at the start of the race. Still, it would be in hot pursuit early from Jamy Begor as he was trying for his first win in a couple of seasons, but Fire would slowly keep pulling away. Still, there would be another challenger coming late in the race as Michawl Wright would be looking for his second win in three weeks, but in the end, Fire Swamp would hold on for the win. Then we would have the Pro Stocks, with ten cars taking the green as they chase the $ 1,000-to-win purse. It would see Zack Daniels get the lead off the start of the race, but he would have a challenger the whole night in the likes of last year's track champion, Marc Lalonde, but Daniels would hold on to get his second win of the season at Airborne Park Speedway. Then the Crown Vics would come to the track as seven would be in attendance as they race for 15 laps, and Eric Friend would get the lead of the start, but he would have to deal with former Renegades champion Richie Turner, and halfway through, Turner would get around him for the lead and then hold on for the win. Then the last race of the night would be Mini Stocks. It would see Randy Martin get the lead at the start of the race and get out to a big lead, but Tyler Bell would just keep chipping away at the difference, and then in the last corner of the last lap, Martin would slide off the track in three, and Tyler Bell would go around him for the win. The track will be back in action next Sunday, September 14th, with their second Sunday rac,e as it will be championship night for the 358 Modifieds. Gallery
