Saranac Lake's Mik Denkenberger (5) swoops around the defender with the score as part of a team high 15 points. It would be the second evening game from the Clinton Community College gym, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake Red Storm in the champions challenge. The Red Storm would jump out to the lead after the first quarter as they would double up the Eagles at 16-8 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to chip away at the deficit as they would win the quarter at 12-9, but the Red Storm would keep their lead at 25-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm would start to take control of the game as they would have a 15-6 quarter and take the 40-26 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they won the quarter 18-11, but the Red Storm would hold on for the win at 51-44. The winning effort for the Saranac Lake Red Storm would go to 16-7 on the season as Mik Denkenberger would lead the way with 15 points as they head into the New York State Tournament next week. The Saranac Lake Red Storm celebrated their 51-44 victory over the Beekmantown Eagles in the second game of the Champions Challenge. It would be the second evening game from the Clinton Community College gym, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake Red Storm in the champions challenge. The Red Storm would jump out to the lead after the first quarter as they would double up the Eagles at 16-8 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to chip away at the deficit as they would win the quarter at 12-9, but the Red Storm would keep their lead at 25-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm would start to take control of the game as they would have a 15-6 quarter and take the 40-26 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they won the quarter 18-11, but the Red Storm would hold on for the win at 51-44. Section VII Boy's Basketball Class A Champion: #1 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #2 Beekmantown Eagles March 1st 2025

Plattsburgh's Diego Andres Rio Barboza (0) drives in and flips it in the basket for the score as part of a five-point evening. It would be the weekend's last game from the Clinton Community College Gym. It would conclude championship weekend with the Boys' Basketball Class A Championship between the #1 Plattsburgh Hornets and the #2 Beekmantown Eagles. The game would start well for the #1 Hornets as they would race out to a 17-7 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles defense stepped up, slowed down the Hornets, and won the quarter 11-8, but still trailed 25-18 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would stay tight, but the Eagles would be better in the quarter with a 15-13 quarter, but the Hornets would take the 38-33 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would surge as they started the quarter on a 13-0 run and won the quarter 19-8 to get the come from behind 52-46 victory. In the winning effort for the Eagles, Duprey and Brunson would lead the way with ten points as they go to 13-7 on the season and enter the New York State Class A Tournament against the winner of Section II. It would be the first game of the day from Clinton Community Colege and championship Saturday in Section VII Boy's VII Boy's Basketball action, and we would have the Class B championship with the #1 Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the #2 Saranac Lake Red Storm. The game would be tight through the first eight minutes as the Red Storm would have the slim 13-12 lead. The game would stay tight through the second quarter and low scoring as the defense would be the game's name with an 8-8 quarter as the Red Storm take the 21-20 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the third quarter, we would have another tight quarter as the Red Storm would have the 13-12 quarter and take the 34-32 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, defense would be the game's name, but the Cougars couldn't get the basket they would need as the Red Storm would get the 7-5 quarter and secure the 41-37 victory. With the win, the Saranac Lake Red Storm would punch their ticket to the New York State Class B Tournament as Crist Cedar would have 15 points in the morning, and they would go to 15-7 in the season. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars are crowned the 2024 Section VII Class B Boy's Basketball champions with their 61-51 win over the Saranac Lake Red Storm. It would be the opening game of the second day of the Section VII Basketball Championships from Clinton Community College of 5 on the schedule today. It would see the top-seeded Saranac Lake Red Storm taking on the #3 Northeastern Clinton Cougars in the class B Boys Basketball finals. The Cougars would be looking for the upset from the beginning as they would get off to the early lead at 13-10 after the first eight minutes of the game. In the second quarter, the Cougars would stay hot as they used the quarter to pull ahead with a 17-10 quarter to have a 30-20 lead at the intermission when the teams returned for the third quarter the Red Storm would regroup and come out looking to take the game back over with a 19-15 quarter to cut the lead nearly in half at 45-39 Cougars. In the fourth and final quarter, the Cougars would keep it together and regain the edge with a 16-12 quarter and get the ten-point win and a 61-51 section vii class B boys basketball title. In the winning effort for the Cougars Collen Castine would lead the way with 23 points. With the win the Northeastern Clinton Cougars advance to the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament and will play the winner of section ii on March 6th at Averl Park. Gallery

It would be time for the Section VII Class B Boy's Basketball finals from Clinton Community College and it would feature the top two seeds as it would be the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Beekmantown Eagles. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. It would be a tight game throughout the first quarter and the Hornets would have a slim 13-12 after the first. In the second quarter, the game would still be a see-saw affair but the Hornets would win the quarter slightly at 16-12 and take the 29-24 lead into the halftime break. When the teams would return for the third the Red Storm would make the adjustments and come out rolling and win the quarter 18-12 and take the slim one-point lead into the fourth quarter at 42-41. In that fourth quarter, the Red Storm would stay hot and pull away with a 19-12 quarter to secure the 61-53 victory. In the winning effort, the Red Storm go to 10-7 on the season and will next travel to Northern Adirondack Bobcats next week as the season starts to come to a close. While the Hornets fall to 4-11 and will look to right the ship as they head to Saranac on Friday and meet up with the Chiefs. Gallery
