Jason Durgan (17) cuts to the bottom of turn 1 and flings the dirt as he gets past Jason Furman (55) during the Modified Fed Ex 100 and get a third place finish on the night. It would be the season opener at Airborne Park Speedway with the Late Models, Renegades, Mini-Modified, with the feature event being the Modified 100 lapper. There would a total of 64 cars that would show up throughout the four divisions in front of a packed house. The first feature of the night would be the mini-mods and Tyler Irwin would get the win and score his first career victory as he would pass Dave O'Neill with 5 laps to go. The second feature of the night would be the Late Models 25 lapper at the front it would be Bobby Therein and Josh Masterson battling for the top spots the first half but Bobby Therein would prevail and capture the win. Then on tap would be the Renegades 30 lapper would be Richie Turner who would lead the race from wire to wite. Then it would be time for the main event of the evening the Modified FedEx 100 Nick Heywood would start on the pole and get the win. Although it would not be without a hot battle from Bucko Branham would be on the bumper the whole time until a late caution came out and Branham ran out of feul under the caution closing out the top three would be Greg Atkins and Jason Drugan. Airborne Speedway will not be in action until May 16th when they have there regular show plus the ACT Spring Green 115. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Andrew Kramer (27) with the release of the fastball for the strikeout. It would be the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #1 Cortland State Red Dragons in the last of a three-game set. It would not be another good day on the field for the Cardinals. They would actually get the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The lead would last till the fourth inning when the Red Dragons would explode with six runs and take a 6-1 lead. They would add one in the fifth and two in the ninth to secure the 9-1 victory. With the loss the Cardinals would get a sweep on the weekend and drop to 12-20 on the season. Gallery

SUNYAC Baseball Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #1 Cortland State Red Dragons April 24th 2014

Plattsburgh State's Chris Perscetti (44) with the reception at first for the close out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #1 Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC doubleheader action. It would not be a very good day for the Cardinals. In the first game, the Red Dragons would score multiple runs in seven of the nine innings. The best inning for the Cardinals would be the ninth when they would score four runs in the inning. With that being said the Red Dragons would cruise to the 25-8 victory in game one of the doubleheader. In the second game of the doubleheader the Red Dragons would get one in the first, three in the second, and one in the sixth and seventh to secure the 6-0 win. With the Cardinals getting sweep they would fall to 12-19 on the season. Gallery

It would be Week 10 of the Indoor Plattsburgh Flag Football League and it would pit a couple of the top teams with C.R. Tunes & Photography and Lambo's. On this night though Lambo's would bring their top game be in control they would have a 22-6 lead at the break. In the second half, both defenses would be the show but the deficit would be too much to overcome as Lambo's would win the half 12-6 and get the 34-12 victory. With the win Lambo's would secure a playoff spot and CR Tunes would need some help to get in. Gallery

Laces Out receiver secures the ball to the chest for the touchdown in the corner for the score. The Plattsburgh Honeybadgers would meet up with Laces Out in Week 10 of the Plattsburgh Indoor Flag Football League. Laces Out would be in control of the first half and have the big 26-7 lead at the end of the first half. In the second half, the Honeybadgers would do there best to get back in the game and win the second half 25-13 and come up just a yard short of tying it at the end of the game and Laces Out would get the 39-32 victory. Store Tavern's third baseman with the tag on Furgeson Fire Haydin Fountain in the middle of the rundown. It would be the Store Tavern taking on Furgerson Fire in Adirondack Slow Pitch League action. The Store Tavern would take the quick 2-0 lead in the first. The game would remain there till the 4th when the Store Tavern would get five more and take a convincing 7-0 lead. Furgeson Fire would try and make a rally in the sixth but it would go for not as they would only get four and the Store Tavern would hold on for the 7-4 victory. Gallery

It would be week 8 of the Plattsburgh Indoor Flag Football League and it would feature the CR Tunes and Photography Raptors and Cat Daddy's. It would be a game that the Raptors would be in control from start to finish as the Raptors would have a 36-6 lead at the break. In the second half it would be more of the same they would win the half 42-20 and secure the 78-26 victory. In the winning effort, the CR Tunes Raptors would go to 4-2 while the Cat Daddy's fall to 1-3 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Camille Leonard (31) with the glove save as part of a 28 save night. It would be the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women's Hockey Division III Tournament. The Cardinal's and Shannon Stewart would get on the board first at the 7:14 mark of the first period to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The game would stay there all the way till the third period when the Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 on Mellisa Sheeran's power-play goal at the 8:06 mark of the period. The Cardinals would make it a 3-0 game on Bridget Bailey's goal at 10:06. The Tommies would get on the board at the 12:28 mark of the period on a power-play goal by Tori Bailey to make it 3-1. In the final minute of the game, the Cardinals would add an empty netter on Giovanna Senese's goal to secure the 4-1 victory. In the winning effort, Camille Leonard would make 28 saves as they advance to the Frozen Four. Gallery
