Cortland State Red Dragons @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Men's Basketball - February 16th 2018

Plattsburgh State's Eli Bryant (1) goes up and under the basket as part of a game-high 22 point night. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in the first game of the final weekend of the season. The Cardinals would jump out to a big league in the first half and not look back as they would have a 46-28 lead at the break. When the teams came for the second half the Red Dragons would do there best to make a game of it but it wouldn't work. As the Cardinals would win the second half 49-46 and secure the easy 95-74 victory. In the winning effort, Eli Bryant and Jonathan Patron would lead the way with 22 points as the Cardinals go to 19-4 on the season. Gallery

Fredonia State Blue Devils @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC's Men's Hockey February 10th 2018

Plattsburgh State's Jesse Nehr (22) looks to extend the lead on an open net but it goes just wide. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Fredonia State Blue Devils in SUNYAC action in the home finale of the season. The game would be tight throughout and remain scoreless until 11:33 of the second period when the Blue Devils score to take a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would tie the game up with 4 minutes remaining left in the second period on Rich McCartney's goal. Then at the 3:40 mark of the third period, the Cardinals would score twice in 20 seconds to make it 3-1 on Jesse Nehr and Rich McCartney's goal. The Blue Devils would score at the 12-minute mark on a penalty shot to cut the lead in half at 3-2. Then in the closing minute of the game, Aryton Valente would score the empty netter to secure the 4-2 victory. Section VII Wrestling Championships Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Wrestling February 10th 2018

Northern Adirondack's Trevor Gilmore with the hip toss on Peru's Elijah Seymour during the 113lb championships Seymour would get the eventual win. It would be Section VII Wrestling Championships from Saranac with all five schools competing for the right to head to the state finals in Albany. At the end of the day and the fifteen weight classes were done the team champion would be Saranac. As for the outstanding wrestler at the meet, the win would go to Chance Lapier from Ausable Valley. Plattsburgh State's Eli Bryant with the long-range jumper for his lone basket in the evening. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would meet up with the Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC play. The game would be tight throughout the first quarter and the Cardinals would trail 38-35 after the first half. When the teams came back for the second it would be a different half as the Cardinals would cross to win the half 39-22 and in turn win the game 74-60. In the winning effort, Jonathan Patron leads the way with 27 points as the Cardinals go to 16-4 on the season. Gallery

Geneseo State Knights @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC's Men's Hockey January 27th 2018

Plattsburgh State's Anthony Fournier-Gosselin(8) with the goal one the one-timer on the 2 on 1. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #8 Geneseo State Knights in SUNYAC play. The Knights would take the 1-0 lead on the lone goal of the first period. The Knights would add two more in the second period to make it 3-0. The Cardinals would get on the board with 5 minutes left in the second on Anthony Fournier Gosselien's goal. In the third period, the offenses would come out as the teams would combine for seven-goal. The Cardinals would get three from Cole Stallard, Phillip Middleton, and Rich McCartney. Although it would be not enough as the Cardinals fall 7-4. In the losing effort, Jimmy Poredoa would have 30 saves as the Cardinals fall to 10-9 on the season. Gallery

KC Photo Video would show that they were the better team early as they would have a 31-12 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half it would be more of the same as they win the second half 34-8 to secure the 65-20 victory. Cortland State Red Dragons @ #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals NEWHL Women's Hockey January 21st 2018

Plattsburgh State's Kayla Menneghin (9) with the goal over the stretched goalie on the 2 on 1 opportunity. It would be a beat between NEWHL conference foes as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons. The Cardinals would take the lead five minutes into the game on the Annie Katonka goal. The Red Dragons would tie the game at 1 on the power-play goal nine minutes into the first. The Cardinals although would regain the lead Kayla Menneghan goal with four minutes left in the first for the 2-1 lead after the first period. In the second period, the Red Dragons would get the lone goal of the period to tie it at 2. The Cardinals would regain the lead again on the Courtney Moriarty goal 4 minutes into the third period at 3-2. Then at the 9:46 mark of the third period, the Cardinals would extend there lead to 4-2 Kayla Meneghain second goal of the night. Then at 13:07, the Cardinals would put the icing of the cake on the Erin McCardle goal to secure the 5-2 victory. Brockport State Golden Eagles @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Women's Basketball - January 20th 2018

Plattsburgh State's Frannie Merkel (20) with the mid-range jumper over the defender for two of her eleven point night. It would be the battle of conference foes. As the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles. In the first quarter, the Cardinals would start with a slight lead at 17-16. In the second quarter, the teams would be even as they tie for the quarter at 18 and the Cardinals would have a 35-34 lead. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would pull away with a 26-17 quarter and have a 60-52 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would pull away more winning the quarter 21-15 and secure the 81-67 victory. In the losing effort, Cardinals Taylor Clare would lead the way with 12 points as the Cardinals fall to 5-11 on the season. Gallery
