Saranac's Landon Duprey (16) with the hard hit on the Beekmantown defender into the boards. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between the host Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Chiefs for the second time this year. After their first meeting, this year needed over time the potential for another great game was there. It was looking that way for a bit until the Eagles would light the lamp for the first goal of the game from Zach Lapier at the 9:15 mark of the first period. Then just two and a half minutes later the Eagles would strike again this time from Moser for the 2-0 lead and that's where the period would end. When the second period started the Chiefs were doing their best to get back in the game and on the board although they wouldn't have an answer. Then at the 14:29 mark of the period, the Eagles would extend their lead to 3-0 on Zach Lapier's second goal of the game. The third period would start off fast for the Eagles as Zach Lapier would complete the hat trick just 40 seconds in and make it a 4-0 game. Then with under three minutes left in the game, the Eagles would put the finishing touches on the game with a goal by Keegan Seamone for the 5-0 win. In the winning effort, Austin Dosier would make 28 saves in the shutout. Gallery

Beekmantown's Zach Lapier (19) comes in on the breakaway and throws the puck to the top shelf for the goal as he would have a hat trick on the night. Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets Boys Hockey January 15th 2022

It would be the second time in three days the Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Chiefs would meet up at the Amer-can North Arena. The Hornets would be looking for revenge from the last game they lost in overtime and would take the quick 1-0 lead on the Jace Lacey goal 1:57 into the game. Although the Chiefs would fight back and get the equalizer 8:10 into the period on the Ethan Barnes goal. Then with 33 seconds left in the period, the Chiefs would take the 2-1 lead on the Landon Giroux goal. The Hornets would keep fighting and eventually tie the game back up at two on Jace Lacey's second goal of the game at the 9:26 mark. The Hornets wouldn't quite till they got the lead and they would on the powerplay goal by Jace Lacey for the hat trick with just under five minutes left in the period. From there the teams would play even the rest of the night until the Hornets in the last minute of the game put in the empty netter from Hayden Colburn for the 4-2 victory. Gallery

The game would start out good for the visiting Eagles as they would get the opening goal at the 10:19 mark of the first period on the Reid Fessette goal. Although the Chiefs would have an answer in the final three minutes of the period on a goal from Landon Duprey to tie the game at one. Then in the first 90 seconds of the second period, the Eagles would regain their 1 goal lead on the goal by Quinn Brandell to make it 2-1 Eagles. Although the Chiefs would keep fighting and tie the game back up at two on the Hayden Buckley goal at the 10:22 mark of the second period. The Eagles would once again fight back and take the lead 3-2 at the 4:48 mark of the third period on the Robert Tetreault goal. Although the Chiefs wouldn't go quietly into the night as they would keep coming and tie the game up again in the final 20 seconds on Landon Duprey's second goal of the game sending us into overtime. In the overtime frame #19 would rip one pass the goaltender at the 3:23 mark to send the Eagles fans home happy with a 4-3 victory, In the winning effort Austin Doser would make 12 saves as they go to 2-0 while the Chiefs fall to 2-3 on a 29 saves night by Mason Patnode. Saranac's Landon Duprey (16) with the rebound for the game-winner to cap off a massive 4 point night (2 goals and 2 assists). It would be a nonleague game as the Saranac Chiefs would host the St. Lawerence Larries. The game would start off good for the home Chiefs as they would get the opening goal of the game at the 5:25 mark from Ryan Maggey as the Chiefs take a 1-0 lead. Although the Larries would answer back without 3:30 left in the period on the goal from Ashton Davis. Although the second period would belong to the Chiefs as they would get three goals in the first 5:19 from Hunter Patnode, Landon Duprey, and Hayden Buckley to give the Chiefs a 4-1 lead headed into the third period. Although the Larries would not give up the fight and they would fight all the way back and tie the game up at four. It would take a goal from Saranac's Landon Duprey in the final minute on the powerplay to secure the 5-4 win. In the winning effort, the Chiefs will go to 2-2 on the season and play their next game on December 13th against Beekmantown Eagles while the Larries fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery
