The game would remain scoreless until the 1:33 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead on Kaitlin Drew-Mead goal. The Cardinals would expand there lead to 2-0 on Abby Brush's breakaway goal at the 6:43 mark of the third period. The Panthers although would cut the lead in half with under five minutes to go to make the reminder intense. Although the Cardinals would put the game away in the last minute on a empty netter from Annie Katonka to secure the 3-1 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in non conference action in front of 1500 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals would strike first 90 seconds into the game with Greg Malafronte for the 1-0 lead. Then at the 11 minute mark of the period the Greg Malafronte would strike again this time on the power play to make it 2-0 Cardinals lead. The Panthers would get on the board with 4 minutes left in the period to make it 2-1 Cardinals at the end of the first period. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-1 on Antonio Desyoners eight minutes into the period. The game would stay there til the third period when the Panthers would explode for five goals in the period and the Panthers would get the 6-3 victory. When the teams came back for the second half the cardinals would not take their foot off the gas pedal as they would win the quarter 50-42 and secure the 92-83 victory. When the teams came back for the second half the offenses would come alive and the Panthers would win the quarter 26-23 and have a 62-57 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Panthers would seal the game away with an 18-13 quarter and secure the 80-70 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrate as they advance to there sixth straight NCAA Division III Frozen Four. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host longtime rival #4 Middlebury Panthers in the NCAA Quarterfinals. The game would remain scoreless until the 14:34 mark of the second period when Erin McCardle would get the tip-in goal for the 1-0 Cardinals lead. Although just over three minutes later the Panthers would tie the game up on the power-play goal. The Cardinals would regain the lead at the 6:58 mark of the third period on the Ashley Songin scramble in front of the 2-1 lead. Then in the final minute of the game, the Cardinals would ice it away on Mackenzie Millen's empty netter. In the winning effort, the Cardinals advance to Frozen Four and Kassi Abbott gets 26 saves. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game from Anthony Fournier-Gosselin with the powerplay goal at 8:43 of the first. The Panthers would eventually tie the game back up at 1 at 4:13 of the second period. Although the Cardinals would regain the 1 goal lead 20 seconds later on the Cam Owens goal. The Panthers would tie the game back up at 8:35 of the second period. The Cardinals would answer right back 41 seconds later to take a 3-2 lead on Jakob Engvall's goal. Then at 5:32 of the third period, Joe Drabin would score to extend the lead to 4-2. Then in the closing minutes of the game, Matt Quilty would score on the empty netter to secure the 5-2 victory.
