Meron's Expos Andrew Gooch (46) leaps and robs Mark Eggleston (1) of a home run. Meron's Expos would score three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to beat the Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres 3-1 in game 1. The Padres scored back in the third inning just couldn't get the one run to stand up. Game 2 of the doubleheader would go to the Expos as well cause the Padres had injured players and were not able to play the game. With the sweep, the Expos would keep there spot atop standings at 15-3. With the defeats, the Padres six-game winning streak came to end and fell to 10-8 heading into the last week of the season against the Lyon Mountain Miners. Gallery

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Matt Rivers(88) swept the tag on the Meron's Expos would-be base stealer. Although it wouldn't be enough though as the Expos would get the sweep winning game 1 3-1, and getting the second game due to lack of players.

Airborne Speedway/Hockey Plus Padres Donny Coolidge (23) connects on the pitch and sends it out for one of many homer runs hit on the day. It wouldn't be enough on this though as the Padres would get swept in the twin bill 8-3 in game 1 and 18-13 in game 2. The opener would be tight through the first five innings until the Expos exploded for 5 runs. In-game two the slugfest was on as it the Padres would actually lead 11-10 after 2 innings the Expos would rally for the win though. The Padres fall to 4-6 heading into next weekend's twin bill at home against the Plattsburgh Cardinals. While the Expos improve to 7-3 headed into two games with the Fourth Ward A's. Gallery

The Meron's/Renzi Expos finished of Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres with an 11-0 win in game 2 of the best of 3 series. With the win the Expos advance to the championship starting next weekend August 23rd at Lyon Mountain against the defending champion Miners. With the loss, the Padres season will come to end and will finish the year at 14-9 and will be looking to go after the championship next summer as most of the players will be returning. The Expos (#28) gets a hold of the fastball and sends a deep fly to left field in the Expos 18-2 win. With the win, the Expos take the 1-0 lead in the best of three series. The Expos will be looking to advance to the championship with a win on August 16th.

The Hockey Plus/Loreman Padres took on the Meron/Renzi Expos in game 1 of the CVBL Semis in a game that the Expos would be in total control from the start. The Expos would cruise to an 18-2 win and take a 1-0 lead in the best of three series. Games two and three will be played August 16th starting at noon at a site still to be determined. Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres Shane Perrotte (#2) slides in safe at third base after legging out the triple in the 2nd game of a doubleheader. The Padres would go on to win the second game 10-5 after giving up five runs in the 1st inning they would shut down the Expos the rest of the game. The Expos would win the 1st game 7-0 to gain the split. With that, the Expos and Padres remained tied for second at 9-5 with 4 games remaining in the regular season. Gallery
