The Cardinals would leave no stretch to the imagination that they were in control of the game scoring five times in the first period for a 5-0 lead. The goal scores in the period would be Nick Belanger (2), Luke Baleshetea, Ross Sloan and Brandon O'Quinn. In the second period, they would pick up where they left off as Brandon O'Quinn would get second of the night on a power-play goal to make it 6-0. Then the Kangaroos would finally get on the period with two-goal in a two-minute span in the second period to make it 6-2 at the end of the second period. Then a 1:20 into the third period Pat Egan would strike to extend the Cardinals lead to 7-2. Then in the closing minutes of the game, the Cardinals would strike with Luke Baleshetea's second goal of the night to finish off the game and give the Cardinals the 8-2 victory.
