It would be the second game of the championship Saturday from Ausable Valley as this time it would be the Section VII Class B championship as it would be the classic rivalry with the #1 Peru Nighthawks and the #2 Beekmantown Eagles for the right to head to the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament. It would start out like a lot of these classic games with hard-hitting and tight defense. The Nighthawks would finally break through for the first score of the game on a 23-yard pass and catch to Trenten Taylor to give the Nighthawks the 7-0 lead with 2 minutes left in the half and that is how the first half would end. The game would stay there till the 5:38 mark of the third quarter when Zack Engstrom would score from 5 yards out to make it a 14-0 game. Then with just over six minutes left in the game, the Nighthawks would take control of the game on Zack Engstrom's second score of the game this time from 40 yards out, and secure the 20-0 lead and win. With the win the Nighthawks go to 8-1 on the season and will take on the Gouvenor Wildcats in the opening round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament.
