Shawn Duquette (18) with the pass in the grass on Fitzergarld (5) during the Renegade feature. It would be week 10 of racing at Airborne Park Speedway and it would be the ESPN 101.3 Twin 25's brought to by Whelen. The four divisions that would be racing on that night would be the 358 Modifieds, Late Models, Renegades, and Mini Modifieds. The 358 Modified would have a good feature race with Jessey Mueller and Leon Gonyo battling it out for the top spot with the eventual win going to Jessey Mueller. The Late Models would have two features on the night as they were testing for the big International 200 next week with wins going to Bobby Therien and Brandon Atkins. In the renegades feature Brent Jarvis and Jim McKineen battling for the top for most of the race until they would slip up and Shawn Duquette would slide underneath for the win. Then in the mini-modified feature, they would have trouble getting going with a few wrecks in the first 5 laps once they would settle down the eventual win going to CJ Lavair. Next week racing is Sunday, July 20th with the International 200.

Store Tavern Vs Leroux Fuels July 11 2014

Store Tavern's Matt Orsmby (13) slides in safe ahead of the tag at the plate by Leroux Fuels Russell (22). The Store Tavern would meet up with Adirondack Slow Pitch Softball Class B leader. The game would see Leroux Fuels jump out to a 5-1 lead in the early innings. Although the Store Tavern would not give up and keep fighting back and would take the lead in the fifth inning and then hold on for the 11-6 Store Tavern win. With the results in the Leroux Fuels would fall to 3-2 while the Store Tavern goes 4-3 on the season. Gallery

Store Tavern's Jason Favaro (3) with the pick at second base and fires one to first for the out. The Store Tavern would meet up with Rick's Knighthawks in the Adirondack Slow Pitch Softball League. The two teams would come in battle it out in the middle of the pack during the early part of the season. The two teams would go back and forth throughout the seven-inning affair, in the end, Rick's Knighthawks would get the 7-6 win. In the end results, both teams would have there recorded at 3-3 on the season. Gallery

Peabody Padres @ Meron's Expos July 6 2014

Peabody's Mark Eggleston (1) makes solid contact on the pitch for one of his four home runs on the day. The Peabody Padres would travel to South Acres Field in Plattsburgh and play the Meron's Expos in Week 7 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. The Padres would jump out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning of the game with a rbi single by Jeff Norton and a two-run home run by Mark Eggleston. The Padres would extend it to 4-0 Shane Perrotte's RBI single. The Expos would cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second on a pair of RBI singles by Bruno and Woods to make it 4-2. The Padres would extend the lead back to 6-2 on Mark Eggleston 2 run homer. The Expos answered back in the third with a two-run homer by Mark Passino to make it 6-4. The Expos would tie it up in the fourth on RBI's by Roenback and Bourdeau. The Padres would regain the lead in the fifth on Mark Eggleston's third homer to make it 7-6. Then in the sixth, the Padres would put the game away on Mike Rivers home run and secure the 8-6 win. Then it was time for game two of the day. In that second game, the Padres would jump on the Expos quick and take 5-0 lead anchored by Chris Markwicka's three-run home run. Then in second, they would add four more runs helped by Jeff Norton's and Mark Eggleston's back to back homers to make it 9-0. Then in the fourth inning, the Expos would get on the board helped by Bruno's homer to make it 9-2. Then the Padres would add two more in the seventh to extend it to 11-2. The Expos would try and make a last inning comeback but it would be two much as they would get one run and the Padres would secure the 11-3 win. With the sweep, the Padres improve there record to 11-4 on the season and are within striking distance of the first-place Cardinals. Gallery

Kris Vernold (97) and Jessey Mueller (19) take it side by side at the bottom of turn one during segment one of the 358 Modified 76. We would be back for another action pack night of racing as part of week nine at Airborne Park Speedway. There would be some great racing throughout the night in the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Renegades, and Mini-Modifieds. Also on hand for the evening would be fireworks after the racing and Jamie Lee Thurston. When it was all said and done on the night Jessey Mueller would win the 358 Modifieds, Mark Lamberton Sportsman Modifieds, Robert Gordon Renegades, and Harold LaVair in the Mini-Modifieds. Next week on tap at Airborne Park Speedway would be the 358 Modifieds, Renegades, Mini-Modifieds, and twin races for the Late Models.

Peabody Padres Vs Adam's Glass Dodgers July 2 2014

Peabody's Shane Perrotte (2) with a diving catch in catch rightfield to rob the Adam's Glass Dodgers of a base hit. The Peabody Padres and Adam's Glass Dodgers would meet in a midweek contest as the makeup of rain from earlier in the Champlain Valley Baseball League. The Padres would take the 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Donny Coolidge scoring Matt Hart. The Dodgers would come back in the third with a pair of runs on Kyle McCarthy's 2 RBI double. The game would stay there till the sixth inning when the Padres would tie the game up at two on a Matt Orsmby base hit. The game would go to extra innings and in the eighth inning, Frank Brogna would hit a single to knock home Matt Hart and win the game for the Padres In the winning effort Kalob Drollette would go all 8 innings giving up 2 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9 as the Padres go to 9-4 on the season. Fourth Ward Cardinals Vs Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs June 29 2014

Cardinals' (31) slides in safe at the plate ahead of the tag from Timberjaxxs Demarco (10). The Fourth Ward Cardinals would meet up with the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs in Week 8 of Chaplain Valley Baseball League. The Cardinals would take the quick 1-0 lead in game 1 on Tommy Neale's RBI single. The Timberjaxxs would tie the game back up at on Demarco's double in the third. Then at the bottom of the third would score four to make it 5-1. Then in the fourth, the Cardinals would add three more to make it 8-1. Then in the fifth, the Timberjaxxs would try to get back into with 2 runs but it would not be enough and the Cardinals would hold on for the 8-3 win. Then in the second game, the Cardinals would score early, and often they would get three in the first to take a 3-0 lead. Then one in the second for a 4-0 lead. Then they would add another four in the third to make it 8-0. Then they would add six in the fourth to make it 14-0 and get the win as the game was called after five innings. In the second game, Will Flynn would pitch all five strike out seven and give up three hits for the shutout victory. With the sweep on the day the Cardinals stay about the league standings. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Vs Troy Fighting Irish June 28 2014

Plattsburgh's Dexter Geohagan (7) with the leaping catch in the endzone for one of his three touchdowns on the night. The Plattsburgh North Stars would host the Troy Fighting Irish in non-league action. The North Stars would take the 7-0 lead in the first on Dexter Geohagan touchdown. The North Stars would extend the lead to 13-0 on Dexter Geohagan touchdown. Later in the second quarter, the Fighting Irish would score two touchdowns and give the Fighting Irish the 14-13 lead at the half. In the third quarter, the Fighting Irish would extend there lead to 22-13 on another touchdown. That is where the game would stay until the 4th quarter when the North Stars would get a 35-yard field goal to make it 22-16. On the in suing kickoff the North Stars would recover the onside kick and a few plays later take it down the field and score on Dexter Geohagan's third touchdown of the day and give the North Stars the 23-22 lead. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Fighting Irish would go down the field on there next drive and take the lead back at 28-23 and hold on for the win. In the losing effort, the Plattsburgh North Stars fall to 1-1 on the season. The North Stars are now off till July 12th when they will hit the road to take on the Glove Cities Colonies. Gallery

The Peabody Padres would host the Fourth Ward Cardinals in Week of 8 The Champlain Valley Baseball League with first place on the line. The Padres would take the 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Shane Perrotte. The Cardinals would tie the game up at one in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Will Flynn. The Padres would take the lead back at 2-1 in the fifth when Matt Hart would score on a fielder's choice. Then in the sixth the Padres would finish off the game with Brady Burleigh RBI triple to secure the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort Matt Rivers would go seven innings give up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 6. In the second game, the Cardinals would take the quick 1-0 lead on a Joe Tolosky fielder's choice. The Padres would tie the game up in the bottom of the first with an RBI single by Jeff Norton. Then in the fourth inning, the Cardinals would get two runs to make it 3-1 on a sacrifice fly to score Ben Weightman, and then Eric Dwyer would score on a double steal. From there on the Cardinals would shut the Padres down for the 3-1 win and get the split on the day. In the winning effort, Will Flynn would go the distance giving up 1 run on 8 hits while striking out 7. With the split on the day, the Cardinals maintain there game lead in the standings. Gallery

98.9 WOKO Renegade 100 Airborne Park Speedway June 21 2014

Renegades Zach Daniels (30) Zack Rabtoy (12), Dylan Rabtoy (22), and Jason McClatchie (70) take it four wide off of turn two and live to tell about it in a heat race for the 98.9 WOKO Renegade 100. It would be week seven at Airborne Park Speedway and it would feature the 98.9 WOKO Renegade 100. In the undercard for the evening, Scott Richner would win the Mini-Modified, Jason Durgan would chase Codie Aubin in the closing laps of the Sportsman Modified feature. Then in the Sportsman, Modified/Big Block Modified Challenge Nick Heywood would lead wire to wire. Then it would be time for the Renegade 100 after the intros the race would get off to a slow start with three cautions in a third of the race. Once things would calm down Robert Gordon and Shawn Duquette would do battle at the top with Robert Gordon getting the eventual win.
