Plattsburgh State's Irwayne Connell (35) drives to the basket past the defender for the score as part of his nine-point night. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals, as they would host traditional non-conference foe the Norwich Cadets from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Veterans Day, in front of 500 fans. The game would go back and forth in the first half, with both teams leading but always staying within 10 points, and the Cadets would have a 41-37 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Cardinals' defense would step up as they would hold the Cadets to just 19 points for the half, while the offense would get out there and score 30, as the home Cardinals would secure the 67-60 victory as they go to 2-0 on the season. In the winning effort, the Cardinal Reem Welch led all scorers with 24 points. For the Cadets, they will fall to 1-1 on the season, and Michael Ndayishimiye would lead the way with 21 points. Plattsbuergh State's Tessa Morris (24) with the wrister in front of the net for one of her two goals on the afternoon as the Cardinals win 3-0. It would be the season opener for both the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #15 Norwich Cadets, as we have a top-15 match to start the season at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena in front of just over 300 fans. There would be no scoring in the first 20 minutes of the game, but that doesn't mean the teams didn't have their chances to score. It would take until just over halfway through the second period, at the 11:32 mark, when Tessa Morris would get the opening goal of the season and give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there until the 7:37 mark of the third period, when Emily Kasprzak would score and the Cardinals would extend their lead to 2-0. Then, with just over 90 seconds left in the game, the Cardinals would add the empty-netter from Tessa Morris for her second of the game, as the Cardinals would wrap up their 3- 0 victory. In the Cardinals' effort, Chloe Lewis made 21 saves in the shutout victory as they will head to Endicott College next weekend. As for the Cadets, Madison Brunet would make 25 saves as they start their season at 0-1. < a href="https://kcphotovideo.zenfolio.com/p686781119">Gallery.
