Section X Boys' Lacrosse: Ogdensburg Blue Devils @ Plattsburgh Hornets April 11th 2025

Plattsburgh's Declan Baker (13) scored the goal as he fell down in front of the net for his second goal of the afternoon. It would be the 2025 home opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on the Ogdensburg Blue Devils to start their 2025 Section X season. The Blue Devils would jump out to a big lead after the first quarter at 8-1, and scoring for the Blue Devils would be Ty Jacobs (twice), Aiden O'Neil (fourth), Brody Barrett, Tegan Frederick, and scoring for the Honets would be Alek Duprey. In the second quarter the defense would be the name of the game all around as the Hornets would win the lower scoring quarter at 3-1 as Declan and Killan Baker along with Alek Duprey second of the game and getting the one goal for the Blue Devils would be Tegan Frederick second of the game to make it a 9-4 Blue Devils lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Blue Devils would take control of the game with a 3-0 quarter as Nathan Irvine, Ty Jacobs (third of the game), and Aiden O'Neil (fifth of the game) made it a 12-4 game after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter with the outcome no longer in doubt the teams would empty the benches and the Blue Devils would win the quarter 2-1 on Tanner Fonda and Kaden Bogart goal for the Blue Devils and getting the lone goal for the Hornets would be Declan Baker as the Blue Devils secuer the 14-5 victory. In the winning effort, the Blue Devils Jackson Thronhill would make eight saves as they go to 4-0 on the season as they head into their next gam against the Salmon River Shamrocks. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets, they will fall to 0-3 on the season as they head into their last game before the break against the St Lawerence Larries. Gallery

It would be Section X Boy's Lacrosse as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the St. Lawrence Larries in their regular season home finally from the Stafford Middle School. The game would start close and low scoring as the Hornets would have the 3-2 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the game would stay evenly matched and low scoring as the Hornets would have the 2-1 quarter and take the 5-3 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Hornets would still be just slightly better as it would be another 2-1 quarter and take the 7-4 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Hornet's defense would go right into shutdown mode as they won the quarter 4-0 and took the 10-4 win. In the win, the Hornets go to 9-3 as they head into their season finale on the road against the Colton Pierrepont Colts. As for the St. Lawrence Larries, they have a pair of games left as they will play Massena and Saranac Lake Placid as they look to finish above 500 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies on Senior Day for the Hornets and the kids would get a treat on the day as they would get to play on the Plattsburgh State turf field. Heading into the game the Hornets would have two games left on the regular season and already have the division clinched so they would make sure all the seniors would get plenty of playing time. In the first quarter, the Hornets would show they were in control of the game as they would have a 5-0 quarter. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same and they would have another 5-0 quarter and take a 10-0 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Huskies would show some life and try and make a game of it but the Hornets would be up to the challenge as the times would tie for the quarter at 3 and the Hornets would take a 13-3 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the icing on the cake as they would have a 6-0 quarter and secure the 19-3 win. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 8-3 on the season as they go into their last home game against St. Lawerence on Monday. As for the Malone Huskies, they are still looking for their first win as they go to 0-11 on the season. Gallery

Potsdam's Jack Pitts (7) and Plattsburgh's Louis Sweenor (5) battle for possession off the face-off in the low-scoring affair. It would be a matchup inside Section X Boy's Lacrosse as the Plattsburgh Hornets from Division 2 would host the Potsdam Sandstoners from Division 1 as the teams have reached the season's halfway mark. It would be a defensive tilt from both teams as it would be a low-scoring half as the Sandstoners would have the 3-1 lead at the end of the first half. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Sandstoners would get a pair of goals and make it a 5-1 game as they entered the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would do everything they could to prevent being upset as they would have a four-goal quarter but the Sandsstoners would answer back with a pair of goals to give the Sandstoners the 7-5 win. In the winning effort, the Sandstoners go to 3-5 on the season and are back in action Saturday as they play the Colton Pierrepont Colts. The Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 5-2 on the season and will look to get back in the winning way with a game at Massena on Monday evening. Gallery

It would be Section X Lacrosse action from the Stafford Middle School in Plattsburgh as the Plattsburgh Hornets would be hosting the Colton-Pierrepont Colts in a mid-season affair as it would be a battle of one lose teams to see who would take control of the Division II lead. The game would start with both teams trading the lead back and forth in the first quarter and the Hornets would lead 4-3 after the first quarter. However, from there, the Hornets would take complete control of the game as they would go on a 16-2 run to finish the game and get the 20-5 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would take the Division's lead as they approach the midway part of the season at 5-1 as they head into their next match with the Potsdam Sandstoners on Thursday. As for the Colton-Pierrepont Colts, they fall to 2-2 on the season as they will play Saranac Lake/Lake Placid on Wednesday as they look to stay in contention in the standings. Gallery
