There would be a spot in the final four on the line today at the Ausable Valley Central School as the #9 Peru Nighthawks would take on the #11 Ravena Indians in the Northern Regional finals of the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament. The Indians would get the first score of the game at the 9:29 mark of the first quarter on a 56 yard strike to Dominik Paljusak and take a 6-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 2:38 mark of the second quarter when the Indians would score again on a 4 yard run by Aidan Locher and take the 14-0 lead. With about a 1:30 left in the half the Indians would start to pull away in the game as Dominik Paljusak would get his second touchdown of the game and make it a 20-0 lead. Although with 30 seconds left in the half the Nighthawks would get on the board to breakup the rush by the Indians on a 22 yard hook and ladder play and make it 20-7 game at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the defenses would stand tall in the third quarter. The next score would come at the 3:29 mark of the fourth quarter on a 18 yard run by Aidan Locher and take a 28-7 lead. The Nighthawks would have another halfway through the quarter on a 1 yard run by Jack Hanson and make it a 28-13 game. Ravena would answer back with three minutes left in the game on a score by Frankie Broadhurst from 35 yards out and take a 35-13 lead. Although the Nighthawks answer right back with 2:42 left on Jack Hanson's run for a 35-19 game. From there the Indians defense would hold on for the victory. In the winning effort the Ravena season will contuine next week as they will travel to middletown for the final four and will take on the undefeated Pleasantville and the Nighthawks season comes to end at 10-1 Gallery

It would be the #7 Peru Nighthawks taking on the Massena Red Raiders in the North Country Super Bowl with the winner get #14 Rivenia on November 19th at Beekmantown High School. The game would start off good for the Nighthawks as they would score just three minutes into the game on a 33 yard run by Jack Hanson for the 6-0 lead. The Nighthawks would double there lead to 13-0 halfway through the quarter on a 28 yard pass to Riley Hebert . Then with two minutes left in the quarter the Nighthawks would strike again with a 25 yard pass to Keith Parent and take the 20-0 lead. There would be just one score in the second quarter as Jack Hanson would strike again for his second score on the day this time from nine yards out to take the 27-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks office would stay hot. As they would a 25 yard feild goal to expand there lead to 30-0. Then in the closing minute of the quarter Zach O'Connell would hit Rocky Hebert for a 25 yard score and take the 37-0 lead. Then just four minutes into the fourth quarter the Nighthawks offense stays hot on a 13 yard pass to Keith Parent for his second score of the day and a 44-0 lead. Then with just about five minutes left in the game the Red Raiders would breakup the shutout with a big run play by Deshawn Walton and make it a 44-6. On the insuing defensive stand the Red Raiders would get a safety to make it 44-9 game. Then in the final couple minutes of the game the Red Raiders would get another running touchdown this time from Clifford Gay and make it a 44-16 and that is where the game would end. With the win the Nighthawks advance to the regional finals next weekend against Rivena and keep there undefeated season intact at 10-0 while the Massena Red Raiders season comes to a close at 5-5. #9 Moriah Vikings Vs Haldane Blue Devils NYSPHSAA Football Class D Quarterfinals November 19th 2021

It would be the Quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Class D Football Championships and the #9 Moriah Vikings would take on the Haldane Blue Devils with a trip to the final four on the line from the Ausable Valley High School in Clintonville, NY. The first quarter would be a defensive battle as both teams would be held off the scoreboard. On this cold night, the Vikings would finally break through the ice with a score at the 4:19 mark of the second quarter on a 2 yard run from Caleb Harris for the 8-0 lead after they went for two. Then with 32 seconds left in the half, the Vikings would strike again this time on a 50 yard run from Rowan Swan and they would double their advantage at 16-0 as they would head into the locker rooms. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Vikings would keep their foot down and add another score with 3:30 left in the quarter on the quarterback keeper from the 1-yard line and take the 22-0 lead. From there defense would keep Haldane off the board and secure the 22-0. In the winning effort, the Vikings stay undefeated on the season at 9-0 and will head to Middletown, NY next weekend and take on #4 Greenwich in the final four with a chance to head back to the dome for a state title the first week in December. Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #10 Ogdensburg Blue Devils NYSPHSAA Football Class C First Round November 13th 2021

It would be the opening round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament between the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Ogdensburg Blue Devils at Plattsburgh High School. The Red Storm would come out and get the opening score of the game at the 4:01 mark of the first quarter on a 2 yard run from Conor Hewitt. Although the Blue Devils would have answered at the 7:01 mark on a one-yard run by Tristan Lovely to tie the game at seven. Saranac Lake would fight back and take the lead back on a second Conor Hewitt touchdown from 19 yards to make it 14-8 at the 3:33 mark of the second quarter. Then at the midway mark of the second quarter, the Blue Devils would strike back on a ten-yard pass to Justice McIntrye to tie the game at 14 as they would head into the half. The game would stay there till the last minute of the third quarter when the Blue Devils would score on a 16 yard run by Andrew Loffler and the two-point conversion to make it 22-14 Blue Devils. Then in the final two minutes of the game, the Blue Devils would put the game out of reach on a 61 yard run by Drew Costello and secure the 28-14 win, and advance to the quarterfinals weekend. #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #3 Saranac Chiefs November 6th 2021

The Saranac Lake Red Storm pose for their team photo as they are crowned the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference C champions. It would be a battle of the Saranac's in the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class C Championship as the #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm would take on the #3 Saranac Chiefs. The Red Storm would waste little time in taking the early lead at 7-0 on the Connor Hewitt 20 yard run at the 2:05 mark of the first quarter. Then with just under three minutes left in the quarter, the Red Storm would strike again and make it 14-0 on a Connor Hewitt 1 yard run. The Chiefs would have an answer with a 31 yard run by Cayden Bouiva and get themself back in the game at 14-6 after the extra point would be blocked. The Chiefs wouldn't be done through as they would come back on their next drive and strike with a 75-yard pass and catch to Justin Bedard at the 1:04 mark of the second quarter and make it 14-12 game after an unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt. The Red Storm would answer right back like twenty seconds later on a 64 yard run by Connor Hewitt for his third touchdown of the half and make it a 21-12 game. Then at the 7:18 mark of the quarter, the Chiefs would come back again and score on a 4 yard run by Hunter Devins to make it a 21-19 game. Then in the closing seconds of the half, the Chiefs would take the lead at 22-21 on a 28-yard field goal. That is where the score would stay till the 4:58 mark of the fourth quarter when Hunter Devins would get his second score of the game on a 6-yard run to extend their lead to 29-21. Although the Red Storm would keep fighting and with about 90 seconds left Connor Hewitt would score on the goal line and they would get the two-point conversion and tie the game at 29 force overtime. In the overtime, Red Storms Connor Hewitt would score from 4 yards out and take a 36-29 lead. The Chiefs would be next up and they would score on the Hunter Devins run. That's where the game would get good the Chiefs would lineup for the win instead of going for the tie and sending it to another overtime. They would score on the two-point play and everyone had thought the chiefs had won the title but there was a yellow flag on the field and it would be called back on a false start. So then seeing that they had to go 5 yards farther back and make it from the 7-yard line they decided to take the field goal and that would go wide right and the Red Storm would hold on for the 36-35 victory, In the winning effort, the Red Storm would advance to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and will play Ogdensburg next weekend and go to 4-4 on the season while the Saranac Chiefs season will come to end at 2-7. #2 Cambridge Indians Vs #7 Moriah Vikings NYSPHSAA Football Class D Quarterfinals November 10th 2017

It would be the #Moriah Vikings hosting the #2 Cambridge Indians in the Quarterfinals of the New York State Class D Tournament. The Indians would get the scoring started early on a 54 yard run by English 37 seconds into the game for the 6-0 lead. The game would remain there til 1:24 of the second quarter when Vikings Matt Pelkey would tie the game up at 6 on a one-yard run. The Indians would regain the 12-6 lead on a 7 yard run by Dean at 6:31. Then in the closing minute of the half the Vikings would score on a 1 yard run by Dewey Snyder to take the 14-12 lead to intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Indians would regain the lead at 18-14 on a 1 yard run from Dean at 6:08. Although the Vikings would not be denied as they would retake the 20-18 lead on a 46-yard touchdown pass to Dewey Snyder. Although from there on it would be the Indians game as they would score 36 unanswered points helped by four Vikings turnovers. As the Indians would defeat the Vikings 54-20 and bring an end to the Moriah Vikings season at 9-2.Gallery
