It would be the Section VII Class D Championship from the Beekmantown High School as the #8 (#1) Moriah Vikings would take on the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots for the right to go to the NYSPHAA Class D Tournament. The game would start off well for the Vikings as they would score just 3:50 into the game on a five-yard run by Evan Fleury to give the Vikings a 6-0 lead. The Vikings would stay on the gas and score just under four minutes later this time on a 2 yard run by Evan Fluery to extend their lead to 14-0. Then in the final 30 seconds in the first quarter, the Vikings would strike again this time from 34 yards and Evan Fluery would score again for his three score of the quarter to give the Vikings the 22-0 lead. The Vikings would slow down some and get just one score in the quarter on a 68-yard scramble to give the Vikings the 30-0 lead as the team went into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Vikings would lighten up and there would only be one score on a 25-yard pass to Luke Smith to give the Vikings the 37-0 lead and the win. In the winning effort, the Vikings go to 7-2 on the season and will enter the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and take on the winner of Section II on November 17th. As the Ausable Valley Patriots season comes to an end at 1-8. Gallery

The Moriah Vikings keep there reign atop of Class D as they are crowned the 2023 Section VII Class D Championship. It would be the Section VII Class D Championship from the Beekmantown High School as the #8 (#1) Moriah Vikings would take on the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots for the right to go to the NYSPHAA Class D Tournament. Moriah's Riley Demarias (8) walks it in the endzone with one of his three touchdowns on the afternoon. It would be the traditional Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Championship as the #1 Moriah Vikings would take on the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels. The Vikings would start off the scoring with a Riley Demarais 8 yard run touchdown run for the 6-0 lead and that is how the first quarter would end. The Vikings would be able to extend there lead to 14-0 on Riley Demarias second score of the game 1:19 into the second quarter on a 44 yard run. Then with just under four minutes left in the half Riley Demarias would get his third score of the half on a six yard run and take a 22-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half the Vikings would let off the pedal and coast it through the rest of the game as Logan Gilbo would get a couple scores in the second half to secure the 38-0 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings win another Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D title and advance to the New York State Class D Tournament where they will meet up with the section one winner as they go to 8-1 on the season and the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to end at 0-8 Gallery

It would be the game of the season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as it would be a pair of unbeaten as the #12 Peru Nighthawks would host the #3 Moriah Vikings with the winner being crowned the regular season champion. The game would start off good for the home Nighthawks as they would break the game open in the first quarter on a 53 yard run by Jack Hanson for the 7-0 lead. In the second quarter the Nighthawks would extend there lead to 14-0 on Jack Hanson second touchdown of the game this time from 6 yard out and thats where the first half would end. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks would strike again at the 6:12 mark on Jack Hanson third score of the game this time from 22 yards away and take the 21-0 lead. With that the defense would shut the Vikings down the rest of the game and get the 21-0 win and stay undefeated at 7-0 while the Vikings fall to 6-1 on the season. It would be week 4 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and the Moriah Vikings would travel up to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets. The Vikings would show way they are the number 3 in the state as they would get the first score of the game at the 5:41 mark of the first quarter on a 9 yard run by Riley Demarais for the 6-0 lead. Then at the 8:13 mark of the first quarter the Vikings would extend there lead to 14-0 on a 44 yard run by Brady Olcott. In the second quarter the Vikings would break the game wide open with three scores on Riley Demarais second score of the game on a 4 yard run, Boden Valentine 2 yard run and a 28 yard fumble recovery by Rowan Swan and take a 36-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half you could tell the Vikings had turned down the wick as they would get a lone score from Keegan Callahan. While the Hornets would get on the board late in the game on a run by Trenton Griffiths. With the Vikings would secure the 43-6 win and stay undefeated at 4-0 while the Hornets fall to 0-5 on the season. Gallery

Peru's Jack Hanson (33) with the stiff arm on the Hornets tackler and takes him to the turf and takes it to the endzone for the score as part of a three rouchdown night. It would be the fourth week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and we will see crosstown rivals as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks for the bragging rights. The Nighthawks would get the game going just 5:20 in on a 8 yard run by Jack Hanson for the 7-0 lead. On the first offensive play for the Hornets the defense for the Nighthawks would strike with a pick sick by Rocky Hebert and take the quick 14-0 lead. Then two finish off the two minute scoring outburst for the Nighthawks Landon Duprey would score from 25 yards out for a 20-0 lead and that's of the first quarter would come to an end. In the second quarter the Nighthawks would strike for a pair of touchdowns coming from Jack Hanson and Landon Duprey both getting there second score of the game and take a 34-0 lead into the halftime break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks would keep there foot on the gas as they would get a couple more scores again from Hanson and Duprey giving them both three on the game and 48-0 lead. Although in the final minute of the quarter the Hornets would find a spark and break out a 50 yard run and score from Gavin Labounty and breakup the shutout and make it a 48-6 game. In the fourth quarter the Nighthawks would get one more on a seven yard run by Keith Parent and secure the 55-6 victory. In the winning effort the Nighthawks head to 4-0 on the season as they head into there meeting with the Saranac Chiefs. While the Hornets fall to 0-5 on the season as they look to right the ship against the Beekmantown Eagles. Gallery

#9 Moriah Vikings Vs Haldane Blue Devils NYSPHSAA Football Class D Quarterfinals November 19th 2021

Haldane's Soren Holmbo (4) steps in front of Moriah's Bryce Sprague (7) for the interception in the middle of the field to keep there team in the game. It would be the Quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Class D Football Championships and the #9 Moriah Vikings would take on the Haldane Blue Devils with a trip to the final four on the line from the Ausable Valley High School in Clintonville, NY. The first quarter would be a defensive battle as both teams would be held off the scoreboard. On this cold night, the Vikings would finally break through the ice with a score at the 4:19 mark of the second quarter on a 2 yard run from Caleb Harris for the 8-0 lead after they went for two. Then with 32 seconds left in the half, the Vikings would strike again this time on a 50 yard run from Rowan Swan and they would double their advantage at 16-0 as they would head into the locker rooms. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Vikings would keep their foot down and add another score with 3:30 left in the quarter on the quarterback keeper from the 1-yard line and take the 22-0 lead. From there defense would keep Haldane off the board and secure the 22-0. In the winning effort, the Vikings stay undefeated on the season at 9-0 and will head to Middletown, NY next weekend and take on #4 Greenwich in the final four with a chance to head back to the dome for a state title the first week in December.
