Aaron Scalzo with this Chevy puts on a great run during the 8,500lb Street Truck class and the crows were cheering with the sight of the black smoke. There would be around 150 entries divided up into the 10 different classes in front of an always packed crowd for the truck pull at the Franklin County Field Days. Gallery

Pat Silver and the Ma and Pa's Headache came out of a 10-year retirement and returned with authority as it would win the 6,200lb 4x4 Pro Stock A class on the first run out of the box. The annual stop for the Adirondack Truck and Tractor Pullers at the Clinton County would see around a 100 entries divided up into 19 classes battle it out on the track in front of a packed crowd until the late hours of the evening. Jonathan Myers in his 2008 Chevy leaves the dust flying as he eats up the competition during the 8,500lb & 10,500lb Street Legal Truck classes. It was the annual return of the Street Legal Truck Pull to Clinton County. There would be a great competition between the seven different classes with around 50 entries and a couple of classes that would be settle by under five feet. Gallery

Kevin Dineen and his Allis-Chalmers D21 carry the front right down the far side of the track to a roaring crowd for the win the 9,500lb Farm Stock Tractors class. The annual truck and tractor pull to return to the Hopkinton Fire Department in Hopkinton. This pull just seems to keep getting bigger year after year. There would be around 50 competitors divided up in 14 classes that would take to the hard clay track that would take all the horsepower you could throw at it. There would be only a few minor breakdowns throughout the day. Gallery

Scott Pickering in Scotty's Toy from North Bangor, NY with the wheel standing run to win the 11,000lb Altered Stock Tractors class. It was the start of the 2011 Adirondack Truck & Tractor Pullers season at the Hopkinton Fire Department in Hopkinton, NY. There would be around 40 entries in the 12 different classes to get the season underway in good fashion. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Adam Frennier (61) and Kris Ross (14) with the gang tackle of the Montreal Voyageurs wide receiver in the open field to stop him in his tracks. The Plattsburgh North Stars would get back on the winning track with a 24-6 victory. The Plattsburgh North Stars would struggle through the first half as they wouldn't get on the bard till 5 minutes left in half taking a 5-0 lead on Mitch Ryder 47 yard field goal and a safety on the kickoff. Then the offense would strike in the last minute of the half on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Kenny Stay to Trevor St. Clair to take the 12-0 lead into the break. In the second half, the North Stars would get another 12 points to secure the 24-6 win. With the win, North Stars improve there record to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the league. The North Stars will be off next week before they are back in action at home for a rematch of last year's championship against the Watertown Red & Black on July 30th. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Joey Painter (12) wraps up the Albany Metro Mallers wide receiver and holds on to make the sliding open field touchdown. It was the season opener for the Empire Football League season and the defending champions would start on the road taken on a return to the team to the Albany Metro Mallers There would be no scoring in this very physical contest until the second quarter when the North Stars would take a 3-0 lead on a field goal and hold the lead to the half. The Metro Mallers would take a 6-3 lead on a three yard touchdown pass nearing the end of the third quarter. Then in the fourth quarter, the Metro Mallers would strike again on a 23 yard touchdown pass to take a 12-3 lead. The North Stars would strike back on the next drive when Kenny Stay would find Jordan Keleher in the end zone for a four-yard touchdown pass. The Metro Mallers would put the icing on the cake when they would score on a 70-yard touchdown to secure the 19-10 victory. With the lose the North Stars start the season off at 0-1 and will be at home next weekend to take on the Montreal Voyagers while the Albany Metro Mallers will be hosting the Watertown Red & Black. Airborne Speedway Padres Jeff Norton (8) with the full outstretch at first base to get them out and the base runner goes crashing past the bag. The Airborne Speedway Padres would get a couple of much-needed wins as they would go on to defeat the Timberjaxxs 10-4 and 7-2. In the first the game the Padres would actually trail early 3-1 and then would come back with 9 unanswered runs in the next few innings. The in-game two they would take the early 2-1 lead and then get five runs in the 4th innings to secure the victory. With the sweep of the Timberjaxxs, they move to 4-10 on the season get themselves out of the last place as the Timberjaxxs fall to 3-11. Gallery
