Saranac's Nathan Hamel (44) plows through the defenders as he takes it up the middle on the run for the first down. It would be the second week of action high school football in New York and the Saranac Spartans would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils from section ten in nonconference action. The Spartans would get the opening score of the game on an 88-yard break-out play by Nathan Hamel to take the 7-0 lead five minutes into the game. The game would stay there till midway through the second quarter when the Spartans would strike again this time on a 33-yard pass to Alex Clancey to extend their lead to 14-0 and that's where the game would be at the half. Although when the teams would come back for the second half the Spartans would bring their offense with them as they would score on a 1-yard run by Nathan Hamel to extend the lead to 20-0 halfway through the third quarter. Then on the next offensive drive for the Blue Devils, Spartans Isaiah Lopez would pick up the fumble and take it in for the score to give the Spartans the 27-0 lead. Then as time would expire in the third quarter the Spartans would strike again on a 22-yard pass to Bryce Deangelo to extend their lead to 33-0. In the fourth quarter with just over half the quarter left Addison Kelting would score on a 25-yard run and the Spartans would take the 40-0 lead. However, the Blue Devils would be able to avoid the shutout as they would score in the closing minutes of the game. Although the Spartans would get the 40-6 win they would go to 2-0 on the season as the Blue Devils started 0-1. Gallery

It would be the opening weekend of High School Football in New York and the Plattsburgh Hornets would start off by welcoming the Hudson Falls Tigers in for a nonconference game. The Tigers would start the scoring off just over 8 minutes into the game with a 2-yard run by David Gonzalez for the 8-0 lead. The Hornets would answer back with just under 90 seconds left in the first quarter on a 29-yard pass to Dominic Deangelo and get the two-point conversion to tie the game at eight after the first quarter. That is where the game would stay until there was 1:23 left in the third quarter when Jayden Harwick would score for the Tigers and get the two-point conversion to take the 16-8 lead. However, the Hornets would answer right back with three seconds left in the third quarter on a 61-yard touchdown pass to Dominic Deangelo for the second score of the game and tie the game 16 after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Tigers would retake the lead once again four minutes into the fourth quarter when Peyton Dupuis scored on a five-yard run with 7:36 left in the game and got the two-point conversion to take the 24-16 lead. Although the Hornets would answer right back as Landon Ladue would take back the ensuing kickoff for a 73-yard score they would come up short on the two-point conversion and the Tigers would hold the 24-22 lead and get the win. In the winning effort, the Hudson Falls Tigers would start the season 1-0 as they head to conference play and take on Glens Falls. The Hornets will look to get the ship going again as they will take on the Saranac Lake Red Storm. Gallery

With about a 1:30 left in the half the Indians would start to pull away in the game as Dominik Paljusak would get his second touchdown of the game and make it a 20-0 lead. Although with 30 seconds left in the half the Nighthawks would get on the board to breakup the rush by the Indians on a 22 yard hook and ladder play and make it 20-7 game at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the defenses would stand tall in the third quarter. The next score would come at the 3:29 mark of the fourth quarter on a 18 yard run by Aidan Locher and take a 28-7 lead. The Nighthawks would have another halfway through the quarter on a 1 yard run by Jack Hanson and make it a 28-13 game. Ravena would answer back with three minutes left in the game on a score by Frankie Broadhurst from 35 yards out and take a 35-13 lead. Although the Nighthawks answer right back with 2:42 left on Jack Hanson's run for a 35-19 game. From there the Indians defense would hold on for the victory. In the winning effort the Ravena season will contuine next week as they will travel to middletown for the final four and will take on the undefeated Pleasantville and the Nighthawks season comes to end at 10-1 Gallery

The Ravena Indians are crowned the 2022 Northern Regional champions with a 35-19 win over the Peru Nighthawks. It would be the #7 Peru Nighthawks taking on the Massena Red Raiders in the North Country Super Bowl with the winner get #14 Rivenia on November 19th at Beekmantown High School. The game would start off good for the Nighthawks as they would score just three minutes into the game on a 33 yard run by Jack Hanson for the 6-0 lead. The Nighthawks would double there lead to 13-0 halfway through the quarter on a 28 yard pass to Riley Hebert . Then with two minutes left in the quarter the Nighthawks would strike again with a 25 yard pass to Keith Parent and take the 20-0 lead. There would be just one score in the second quarter as Jack Hanson would strike again for his second score on the day this time from nine yards out to take the 27-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks office would stay hot. As they would a 25 yard feild goal to expand there lead to 30-0. Then in the closing minute of the quarter Zach O'Connell would hit Rocky Hebert for a 25 yard score and take the 37-0 lead. Then just four minutes into the fourth quarter the Nighthawks offense stays hot on a 13 yard pass to Keith Parent for his second score of the day and a 44-0 lead. Then with just about five minutes left in the game the Red Raiders would breakup the shutout with a big run play by Deshawn Walton and make it a 44-6. On the insuing defensive stand the Red Raiders would get a safety to make it 44-9 game. Then in the final couple minutes of the game the Red Raiders would get another running touchdown this time from Clifford Gay and make it a 44-16 and that is where the game would end. With the win the Nighthawks advance to the regional finals next weekend against Rivena and keep there undefeated season intact at 10-0 while the Massena Red Raiders season comes to a close at 5-5. The Vikings would start off the scoring with a Riley Demarais 8 yard run touchdown run for the 6-0 lead and that is how the first quarter would end. The Vikings would be able to extend there lead to 14-0 on Riley Demarias second score of the game 1:19 into the second quarter on a 44 yard run. Then with just under four minutes left in the half Riley Demarias would get his third score of the half on a six yard run and take a 22-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half the Vikings would let off the pedal and coast it through the rest of the game as Logan Gilbo would get a couple scores in the second half to secure the 38-0 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings win another Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D title and advance to the New York State Class D Tournament where they will meet up with the section one winner as they go to 8-1 on the season and the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to end at 0-8 Gallery

The Moriah Vikings continue there streak of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Championships as they are crowned the 2022 winner.
