NYSPHSAA Class C Football Quarterfinals: #4 Schuylerville Spartans Vs #18 Saranac Spartans November 22nd 2025

Saranac's Chace Scovil (7) with the arm tackle on Schuylerville's Blake Cumm as he tried to take the edge. It would be a battle of top-20 teams in the state as the #4 Schuylerville Horses would take on the #18 Saranac Spartans in the NYSPHSAA Class C North Region Final from Plattsburgh, with the winner advancing to the final four. The Horse would get out of the gate first and quickly with an 11-yard run from Max Montgomery for the 6-0 lead at the 4:25 mark of the first quarter. The Horses would keep it going as Max Montgomery would add his second touchdown of the quarter this time from 7 yards at the 9:47 mark for the 14-0 leadThe The Horses would keep it going in the second quarter, when Max Montgomery would get his third touchdown of the gme, this time from seven yards out at the 3:markmamakingng it a 20-gamee, that's where the game would be atttheh half. The Hkeptd kept it going when they returned for the third quarter, when Max Montgscoredld got his fscore of the game, making it a game at the 4:20 mark. Then, with 40 seconds left in the quarter, the Horses would extend their lead, and Blakemm would take it 11 yards out to make it a 36-0 game at the end of the third quarter. The Spartans would finally have an answer when Tanner Fields picked up the fumble and took it 39 yards for the score at 1:50 of the fourth quarter,, making it a 36-7 game The Horses would answer back,, though,, as Levi Michuad broke it for a 55-yard run and made it a 42-7 game at the 6:50 mark of the fourt Then on the ensuing kickoff, Sam Lachre would take it 67 yards for the score and make it a 42-14 game. Although the Horses would have one more answer, as evi Michuad would break again, this time for 44 yards, they would close out the game and take the 55-victory. In the winning effort, the Schuylerville Horses would stay undefeated at 11-0 as they head to the final four. As for the Saratoga Spa Spartans, their season will come to an end at 7-4. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey: Morrisville State Mustangs @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 21st 2025

Plattsburgh State's Vlad Pshenichnikov (14) with the quick wrister as the Cardinals are looking for the equalizer late in the game. It would be the 6th annual teddy bear toss night to benefit the local youth, as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get the home portion of their SUNYAC season underway against the Morrisville State Mustangs in front of 1600 fans. The Cardinals would get the scoring going quickly, letting the fans launch the bears, as Aaron Catron scored at the 3:08 mark of the first period for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there all the way to the third period when Tyler Zembryzycki would score for the Mustangs at the 7:18 mark to tie the game at one. Then the Mustangs would take the lead just 35 seconds later when Connor Santay would score to give the Mustangs the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep fighting through the rest of the period, but they would not have an answer to give the Mustangs the 2-1 victory and their first conference win in their last 18 games. In the winning effort, Chad Lowe would make 43 saves as they go to 2-2-2 on the season. As for the Cardinals, Brady Spry made 24 saves as they fell to 2-3 on the season. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Class C Football First Round: Gouvernur Wildcats Vs Saranac Spartans November 15th 2025

Saranac's Zander Daniels (11) lowers the boom on the defender and trucks him for the first down run. It would be the start of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Football playoffs, and we would see the Gouverneur Wildcats and the Saranac Spartans at Plattsburgh High School, with the winner playing Schuylerville next weekend in the quarterfinals. The teams would use the first quarter as a feeling-out time, as neither team would be able to score. Then at the 5:41 mark of the second quarter, the Spartans would strike on a 15-yard pass to Chace Scovil for the 8-0 Spartans lead. The Spartans would keep coming and extend their lead to 15-0 on a 41-yard run by Teegan Smith, and they would take the 15-0 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the second half, the Wildcats would get the game back within one score when Haden Stowell took it from 2 yards out. The game would stay there till there were 35 seconds left in the quarter when Chace Scovil would strike again, this time from 3 yards out, as the score would go to 22-6. Then at the 4:10 mark of the fourth quarter, Storm D'Ambro would score on the 17-yard pass strike and take the 29-6 lead and put the game out of reach. With that, the Spartans would get the win and go to 7-3 on the season, and will face the defending champion Schuylerville next in the quarterfinals. As for the Governor Wildcats, their season will end at 5-3. Gallery

SUNYAC Women's Hockey: Buffalo State Bengals @ #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 15th 2025

Plattsburgh State's Emily Kasprzak (22) with the dangle as she goes by the defender and takes it on net. It would be the #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the Buffalo State Bengals in women's hockey SUNYAC action in front of 400 fans. The Cardinals would waste little time getting the opening goal of the game at the 8:41 mark of the first period from Kayson Ruegge, and from there, defense would be the name of the game as it would be the lone goal of the game, but the Bengals would be held to just 12 shots on net. In the winning effort, Chloe Lewis made 12 saves in the shutout victory, as the Buffalo State Bengals go to 3-1 on the season, while the Buffalo State Bengals fall to 3-3. The Cardinals will be back in action next weekend, taking to the road to face the Morrisville State Mustangs and the Cortland State Red Dragons. Gallery

NCAA Women's Basketball: Mount Holyoke Lyons @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 14th 2025

Mount Holyoke's Alex Twomey (3) goes up and over the defender as part of her team's high 14 points in defeat. It would be the start of the 2025 edition of the Women's Basketball Cardinal Classic. The host Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the Mount Holyoke Lyons from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference in front of just over 400 fans. The game would start well for the home Cardinals, who cruised to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lyons would do their best to keep the game in reach, but the Cardinals took the quarter 25-14 and led 46-22 at halftime. When the teams returned for the third quarter, defense would be the name of the game, with the Cardinals taking a 13-10 lead, 59-32, into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would put the final touches on the Lyons with a 23-10 quarter for the 82-42 victory. In the wCardinals' effort, Imani Walcott led the way with 16 points, as they go to 2-0 on the season. As for the Lyons, Alex Twomey would lead the way with 12 points as they fall to 0-3. Gallery

SUNYAC Women's Hockey: William Smith Herons @ #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 14th 2025

Plattsburgh State's Kate Conlon (19) wins the zone face-off over William Smith's Kelly Howe (21). It would be the first-ever SUNYAC Conference meeting between the #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the William Smith Herons from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 373 fans. The Cardinals would take the lead at the 8:13 mark from Kayson Ruegge's lone goal of the period for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 4:49 mark of the second when Riley Keller would score to increase the Cardinal lead to 2-0. The Cardinals would keep on the gas and extend their lead to 3-0 about 5 minutes later on the Bailey MacKellar goal. The Cardinals would finish off the game at the 16:28 mark of the third period, as Piper Smith became the fourth different scorer of the game. As Chloe Lewis had 13 saves on the night for the 4-0 shutout win, they go to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

NJCAA Division III Region III Men's Basketball: Jefferson Community College Cannoners @ Clinton Commuty Cougars November 16th 2025

Clinton's Jeffery Collns Weeks (4) comes in hard and gets the block on the shot attempt by Jefferson's Marcus Castine (21) to keep the Cougars in the game. We would have NJCAA Division III Region III Men's Basketball from Clinton Community College, with the home Cougars hosting the visiting Jefferson Community College Cannoneers, who would get back on the winning track after yesterday's loss to Onondaga Community College. The game would be tight through the first half as the teams would trade the lead back and forth, and when the intermission hit, the Cannoners would have the slim 36-34 lead. When the teams returned for the second half, the Cannoners would explode out of the gate and take a quick 16-point lead and look to have the game in hand. Although the Cougars would give everything they could to get back in the game and, at one point, had it within four in the closing minutes, the Cannoners would win the half 52-44 and secure the 88-78 win. In the winning effort for the Cannoners, they would go to 2-4 on the season, while the Cougars fell to 2-3 on the early season. Gallery

NJCAA Division III Region III Men's Basketball: Fulton Montgomery Raiders @ Clinton Commuty Cougars November 5th 2025

Clinton's Jatmison Conrad (12) with the floater in the lane over the defender for the score. The Clinton Community College Cougars would be back at home as they welcomed the Fulton Montgomery Raiders, a fellow Region III opponent, looking to build on their win last week in the early season. Both teams entered the game at 1-1. The teams would play at a high-octane pace, up and down the court, and the first half would be tight throughout, with the Raiders leading 52-47 at the break. When the teams returned for the second half, the Raiders would keep it up and extend their lead to almost 15 before the Cougars would start to find the nylon, before they would turn up the jets and be off to the races as the Cougars would win the half 48-31 and secure the 90-76 victory. In the losing effort, the Raiders fall to 1-2 on the season as they are back in action at home over the weekend. As for Clinton Community College, they would improve to 2-1. As for the Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Basketball: Norwich Cadets @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals November 11th, 2025

Plattsburgh State's Jaiden Gladney (0) with the wide-open three from the wing as part of an 11-point night. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals, as they would host traditional non-conference foe the Norwich Cadets from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Veterans Day, in front of 500 fans. The game went back and forth in the first half, with both teams leading but staying within 10 points, and the Cadets led 41-37 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Cardinals' defense would step up as they would hold the Cadets to just 19 points for the half, while the offense would get out there and score 30, as the home Cardinals would secure the 67-60 victory as they go to 2-0 on the season. In the winning effort, the Cardinal Reem Welch led all scorers with 24 points. For the Cadets, they will fall to 1-1 on the season, and Michael Ndayishimiye would lead the way with 21 points. NJCAA Division III Region III Men's Basketball: SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves @ Clinton Commuty Cougars November 5th 2025

Clinton's Jeffrey Weeks III (4) with the lay-up as part of a game-high 23 points with the 85-83 victory. It would be the Clinton Community College and the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves from the Clinton Community gym in NJCAA Region III Men's Basketball action. The home Cougars would be looking to avenge their season-opening loss, and they would be off to a good start as they would jump out to a 46-300 lead at the intermission. In the second half, though, the Timberwolves would do their best to get back in the game, nd in the closing seconds of the half, they would tie the game at 8. Although the Cougars would have one last chance, Jeffrey Weeks II would get the 85-83 victory. In the Cougars' winning effort, Jeffrey Weeks led the way with 23 points, as they go to 1-1 on the season heading into their game next week against Fulton Montgomery.
